Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Finished my first season (29 games) with the Celtics. Went 25-4, #1 seed in the East, best record in the conference.

Swept Atlanta in the first round
    Beat Miami in 7
    Beat Orlando in 7
Beat Dallas in 6 for the NBA Championship

Paul Pierce broke his jaw with a week left in the season and came back for the Finals - Rondo was the finals MVP

    - During the season I traded Shaq to Chicago for their 2011 1st round pick and 2012 1st round pick, then traded Chicago's pick and Jermaine O'Neal for the Nets 2011 1st round pick, which ended up being #5 and I drafted Sullinger from Ohio State. Kid's a beast, bringing him off of my bench until Garnett's contract is done.

    In season 2: 4-0

        My Roster

        1.Kirk Heinrick
        2.Joe Johnson
        3.Fariq Aminu
        4.Josh Smith
        5.Al Horford

        6.Jamal Crawford
        7.De'Andre Jordan

Can think of my other players right now, but those are the main ones.
I got some realistic custom all star sliders up on share, search for
        "Hunkerdown"

I run with Hawks as well, I am almost at end of 1st season, 6th place in east, I play every other game, so pretty realistic results.

Only difference to starting 5 is addition of WAll at PG; in big trade before deadline.

If All-star is too difficult you can maybe lower the sliders a little, do a few test runs and see if it helps. Or you could go down to Pro difficulty and up those sliders as you see fit. Also turn off clutch b/c basically you can't touch the comp down the stretch if that's on.

Just started an association with the kings. Simmed the first year got the 9th pick took kemba walker also had the clippers pick which turned out to be the 19th pick and I took Marcus Morris. Got rid of basically the whole team in the offseason, all I had left was evans cousins Thompson and jeter. Had 42 million in cap after my signings I have 22 million

                Acquisitions:
                Kemba
                Morris
                Dj Kennedy
                Delfino
                Jianlian
                Reggie evans
                Resigned Marcus thornton
                Resigned casspi

So I played my first game and I really like my team. I can shoot a lot of 3's and I have inside precense with cousins and Thompson .ni beat the timberwolves 95-81 10 min quarters on superstar.

                Linup

                Kemba/jeter
                Evans/thornton
                Delfino/casspi/Kennedy
                Thompson/Morris/evans
                Cousins/jianlian
                The Washington Redskins

I lower the CPU shooting sliders by 1 or 2 points for Hall of Fame. Otherwise no matter what you do they will shoot 60-70%.

I had the chance to see the Nuggets in person Monday against Toronto. A few thoughts from the game:

-Denver is really unselfish with the basketball. I love it. Tons of extra passes to create open looks and/or driving lanes. Really opens the floor to a lot of possibilities.

-You want to know why teams like Toronto stink? Look at the defense. They gave up 100 points after 3 quarters! I didn't see a single contested jump shot and the Nuggets had hardly any resistance when driving the lane.

-How the heck did this Raptors team manage to beat OKC in OKC?

Anyway, after watching that game I'm ready to fire up a Nuggets Association.

                      [0-0 DET year 2/All-Star/82gm/10min]

Year 1 wrap-up: 21-61, Dallas won the title 4-1 over Orlando
[During season 1 traded Rip & Maxiell to UTA for Kirilenko, then Summers to PHI '11 2nd rnd]

Offseason: My goal was to start the youth movement.
Stuckey, Prince, Kirilenko, Wilcox, T-Mac left for free agency
Declined option on Daye(unhappy all season), picked up option on Jerebko

Draft:#3 pick PG Terrell Banks (73rtg mucho potential), #33 pick C Edwin Andersen (62rtg, good backup)
Signings: Wilson Chandler 4yr $35.25 mil, Mohammed 1yr $750k, Boykins 1yr$1.91mil, Dominic Mcguire 2yr $3.66 [last 3 were to fill out the roster]

I had to correct some dumb signings, such as MIL signing Marc Gasol to backup Bogut so i put Gasol back on MEM, and Mike Conley back on MEM after they sent him to WAS on draft day for their pick.

If Anthony Randolph continues to resent the T-wolves i'll probly make a run at him. I know i really don't have anything to offer ATL for Josh Smith so Randolph's my other favorite PF.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

My Nuggets association got all buggered up, two of the teams in the standings had these records like they were 2 seasons worth while everyone else had played a couple games. Frustrating and from now on I'm going to save a new copy after each season so if it happens again, I won't have to start completely over.

What I'm trying now is a SPURS Association starting with next season (2011-12) because we're already so far done this year. I simmed the first season and the Spurs lost to the Lakers in the Conference Finals. The Lakers lost to the Celtics in the finals. I've always focused so much on offense that my plan with the Spurs is to focus almost exclusively on being the best defensive team in the league. I also think there's some long term potential to have an interesting association because I'll have to transition to the post-Duncan era.

                        Off-season moves:
Richard Jefferson, James Anderson & 2nd Round Pick to HORNETS for Trevor Ariza & 2nd Round Pick
Antonio McDyess, Matt Bonner, Chris Quinn & 1st Round Pick to THUNDER for Thabo Sefolosha, 1st & 2nd Round Picks
Two 2nd Round Picks to Toronto for their 2nd Round Pick

Drafted: Kawhi Leonard and Tristan Thompson
Free Agent signing: Samuel Dalembert (1+1)

                        2011-12 SPURS
                        PG: Tony Parker, George Hill
SG: Manu Ginobili, Thabo Sefolosha, Gary Neal
SF: Trevor Ariza, Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green
PF: Tim Duncan, Tiago Splitter, Tristan Thompson
                        C: Dejuan Blair, Samuel Dalembert

I feel like I've upgraded defensively with Ariza and Sefolosha while also getting younger. I've played part of the season already and I'm actually using the Auto rotation instead of Manual for the first time. Everyone plays multiple positions and I'm comfortable with any combination out there so it cuts down some time off the game.

Started an association with the Hornets last week, was gonna do the Kings but I decided to start one with CP3. I'm playing on All-Star Defualt and 6 games in I am currently 2-4. Lost by 5 in the first game and 11 against the Magic (Howard's rebounds killed me). Unfortunately for me I faced the heat next and I was dominated; lost by 19. David West got dominated by Bosh. He was 2-11 from the field and Bosh was like 10-16 by the end of the game. I made a huge gamble and traded David West and a second round pick for Luis Scola and another player. By the way, Carl Landry has been great so far.

Heres what I can remember of the lineup:
                          PG: Chris Paul
                          SG: Willie Green
                          SF: Trevor Ariza
                          PF: Luis Scola
                          C: Emmeka Okafor

I'm not sure but should I trade Green? he's pretty good from distance but he can slump at times.

                            Just to follow-up, I'm using MKHarsh33's All-Star sliders.

                            My rotation:

                            PG: Lawson/Felton
                            SG: Afflalo/Smith
                            SF: Chandler/Gallinari/Forbes
                            PF: Martin/Harrington
                            C: Nene/Anderson/Mozgov

Koufus and Ely round out the bench.

0-1 after a tough 117-100 loss to the Utah Jazz. The Jazz shot 55% from the field, so that pretty much sums up that game. I had real balance on offense, with four players scoring in double figures and eight players had at least 8 points. So, if I can tighten up my defense, I think I'll be fine moving forward.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Started a association with my Cavs. Gave myself the correct draft picks so that includes the Clippers pick. I ended up with the worst record and got the #1 and #4 pick thanks to the Clippers.

On draft day I ran up to the pottium and took Irving 1st overall and with the 4th pick I snagged Barnes. Then the Thunder offered me their 1st rounder (12 overall) for Varejo and Manny Harris so I took that and ran. I took the Lithuanian Jonas Valanciunas. I took David Light with the 2nd pick in the 2nd round so I had a good draft:

                              1) Irving - 79 overall
                              4) Barnes - 73 overall
                              12) Valanciunas - 72 overall
                              Round 2 pick 2) David Lighty - 64 overall

I only had 5 million in cap room due to the 3 1st round picks so I picked up Reggie Williams to start ler Hansbrough and at SG. I was logged jammed at PG and I couldn't find any offers for Davis so I made a couple of trades:

Cavs Get: Paul George, Tyler Hansbrough
Pacers Get: Sessions, Jamison, 2013 2nd rounder

                              Cavs get: '12 2nd rounder
                              Bobcats get: Daniel Gibson

My job as a GM is done, us Cavs are ready to contend. Got rid of most of the players from the LeBron era. Here is my opening day rotation:

PG - Kyrie Irving / Baron Davis
SG - Paul George / Reggie Williams
SF - Harrison Barnes / Eyenga
PF - JJ Hickson / Hansbrough / Harongody
                              C - Valanciunas / Harongody / Erdan / Hickson

Well there you have it, Cavs are reborn! What do you all think? Would you call that a successfull rebuild?

Hey guys I'm new here so I wanted some tips on my association team.
I'm using the Lakers with 12 min quarters, on all-star difficulty.
So far I'm 2-0 and about to go against the Hawks.
I've recently traded Bynum for Amare.

                                Starting 5:
                                Pg.kirk Hinrich
                                Sg.Kobe Bryant
                                Sf.Ron Artest
                                Pf.Amare Stodemire
                                C.Pau Gasol

                                Bench:
                                Pg.Derek Fisher
                                Sg.Shannon Brown
                                Sf.Matt Barnes
                                Pf.Lamar Odom
                                C.Ronny Turiaf

Let me know about my team and any suggestions on what to do. Thanks.
