Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Still early in my association. I am sitting at 5-3 currently but I am strongly considering making a trade. Help me resist the urge! lol

    Wizards:
PG John Wall 18 ppg, 8.6 apg
SG Allen Iverson 16 ppg 32% fg
Sf Josh Howard 9 ppg 2.0 spg
PF Andray Blatche 12 ppg 11.5 rpg
    C Emeka Okafor 5 ppg 9 rpg
    Bench
Captain Kirk, Nick Young, Yi, McGahee, Harrington

My defense is doing well, but my offense has been terrible. AI is shooting around 32% and I do not have a low post scorer (which is how I play).

My team is averaging 82 ppg (uye)

Through trade finder I have found that I do have the ability to make a trade for Boozer without losing too much, but I kinda don't like Carlos.

Through earlier trades I now have 3 1st round picks in this upcoming draft, plus decent trade assets. I want to hold out for the year and make my moves next season, but it is rough

1-0 with the Cavs after a dominant win vs Boston. They couldn't get any thing inside the paint. Mo Williams had 13pts 10ast 7reb so he helped the team out a lot. Hva to play the Raptors next looking to go 2-0.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Trying to salvage the season with the Raptors currently 15-27 in the middle of January, 13th in the Easten Conference. Simulated that whole stretch cause I like playing the season from behind. Gonna make some moves to hopefully improve right now my starting 5 looks like this:

        PG- Jose Calderon
SG- Rudy Fernandez (edited him to a 72 overall, couldn't resist)
SF- Linas Kleiza (edited to 66 overall)
        PF- Ed Davis
        C- Andrea Bargnani
Bench- Sasha Vujacic, Demar Derozan, Marcus Banks, Sonny Weems, Julian Wright, Reggie Evans, Amir Johnson, Joel Przybilla, David Andersen

Right now searching for a decent Power forward or center to play along with Bargnani, though ideally I'd like to steal Marc Gasol away from the Grizzlies... though I'm resisting that, otherwise my team will end up being almost team spain lol. Right now I'm debating on pulling the trigger on a trade for Yi Jianlian and a 2nd round draft pick for marcus banks and a 1st round draft pick.

2-0 Miami Heat. Had a nice road win over Philly on the 2nd night of a back to back. I already notice players tire quicker on the 2nd night of back to backs (nice touch) and went 10 deep in this game. Mike Miller who started on fire again strained his back and is out 1-2 weeks already.

Heat comes home to face the Magic in a huge early division game.

Bosh led all scorers with 29 points and 7 Boards

          Wade 28 points

          Lebron 26 Points

I tweaked up the foul sliders and got nice balance. Home team got more calls heat went to the line 18 times and the 76ers went 22 times.

Only 9 turnovers total for me. You just need to play smart.

0-9 with my Pistons squad. Really don't know what to do right now. I always just realized I traded away both my st round picks. Didn't realize I had done that, so now I will have a hard time rebuilding through this draft. On the bright side, I don't need to rebuild too much. I have a player at each position with at least B potential, they're all just really young right now and in the low to mid 60's range except for Stuckey and Gordon.

Really hope to have my players progress this year and I am looking forward to Avery Bradley, Glen Davis, Stuckey, Gordon, and Monroe to lead my team in a couple years. My future looks bright when looking at my youth and their potential ratings. Hopefully they reach them.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So I'm now 2-4 in my Wizards Association, and besides losing two straight by not closing a game out and missing FT's late I feel my team has played relatively well. Wall (20 ppg / 6 apg) and Blatche (22 ppg / 12 rpg) continue to lead my team offensively. Arenas and Howard are also contributing nicely with both averaging about 15 ppg.

I'm really liking the roster as is, but I'm not feeling Nick Young and so I placed him on the trading block. I've received some interesting offers, but I'm unsure as to what I should do. The Clippers offered me Eric Bledsoe for Nick Young, Cartier Martin, and a 1st Round pick in this years draft. The Rockets offered me Courtney Lee and Jordan Hill for the Young, Martin, and a 2nd Round pick in this years draft. There's something about having a Wall / Bledsoe guard combo that intrigues me moving forward, but I dunno how that would fit with Arenas and Kirk. However, I am a huge fan of Courtney Lee and believe he fits what I'm looking for in a SG coming off the bench. He may not be a starter, but he usually gives teams a spark coming off the bench and is a pretty good shooter who can knock down shots. Jordan Hill gives me another athletic forward, which also fits are style of play.

              Any suggestions?

You may be one of the few who are using the Wizards who did not make trading Arenas the first order of business.

For your offers I would accept the 2nd and obtain Lee. I see no real reason to obtain Bledsoe seeing as how you have Wall. Wizards have too many holes to start stacking young talent at only one position. Plus you would have to surrender your 1st rounder which is not a good thing. The offer of Lee is pretty good so go with that.

I am also using the Wizards so we can exchange notes. One thing I would like to know is how are you able to use Blatche effectively? I am only averaging 12 ppg and most of that is off the pick and roll with Wall.

And why haven't you traded Arenas?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

I started my association with sacramento kings.I simmed the first season and got to playoffs and now i will play my second season.
                    My starting five is
                    pg-Gilbert Arenas
                    sg-Tyreke Evans
                    Sf-Omri Casspi
                    pf-Carl Landry
                    c-Greg Oden
I don´t remember all my trades, but got Oden for Cousin.I won my first game against Utah and with quite big margin.Deron Williams was really poor.He didn´t attack the basket and only had about 3-4 shots in the whole game.Oden was player of the game and he really dominated the glass and low post.He shot 9 of 11.My next game is against Golden State and hope to win.
Anyone knows what to change that star players will attack mroe and play like they do in real life?

I'm using the Wiz for my Association too and currently 5-12. I like the roster as is, McGee can be a good center, but needs to work on his mid range, inside shooting and free throws. I'd keep Thornton if I were you. If he can improve his mid range game he's a keeper. Blanche is dynamic on offense. Can score inside, outside, or drive.

To me the only trade chip (if you're rebuilding) is Arenas. I ran him on trade finder but couldn't get a GOOD deal for him. If you can trade him for 1st rounder and a good young C I'd take it. If not, keep him until his contract expires or until the deadline.

As for Wiz bench. Nick young could be deadly from the outside. Wiz need a shooter and Young could be that guy. Cartier Martin has been good for me off the bench.

With that said, I'd say keep the roster as is. Try to develop young players and at the deadline, try to trade Arenas. Sell if you don't have a chance to get to the playoffs, if not buy to improve. It really depends how's your team doin in the season.

Yeah, I completely agree about surrendering a 1st Round pick, but I was just intrigued by how fast of a guard combo Wall / Bledsoe would be (even though it really doesn't fit).

I haven't done a trade yet, but after seeing how bad Heinrich has been shooting to start the season I may pull the trigger for Lee just to get some production. Lee wants out of Houston anyway, as it seems he rarely see's any minutes.

Blatche has a really nice mid-range jumper and it's how I score most of his points. If I'm not running the High Post play for Blatche, I can usually get him free open looks by penetrating with Wall and kicking it out for the open shot. Also, since Blatche is pretty athletic he can get pretty good separation from the High Post for either an open jumper or a drive to the basket. He also has a nice fadeaway jumper from the Post which is another way he can score. Basically don't be shy to shoot the ball with Blatche as he has deadly mid-range game.

Now as for Arenas, while I'm not a fan, I still feel he is one heck of a scorer when healthy. Even though he's off to a slow start in my Association, there have been plenty of games where he has come up big when we needed him most. Arenas still has that big play ability, which is why I've decided to keep him for now. However, that's not to say I won't consider shipping him as the season progresses. Also, I really enjoy having two guards (Heinrich and Arenas) that are able to play both on and off the ball with success. Both can be really good scorers, but still run the point if needed.

To be honest, I've never been a huge fan of Nick Young and so far this season he's been just atrocious. He can't hit any open looks and he's never able to finish when he gets to the basket. As for Martin, I haven't really given him a chance. I'll start giving him some minutes to see how he produces at SG / SF as it seems from his attributes that he can shoot the ball.

Also, I'm definitely keeping Thorton. While he doesn't shoot the ball well, he does play great defense. I also like to use him at the PF spot when I'm going small (works well against other small teams like the Sixers). He too has been struggling to finish at the basket, but he's making it up defensively and on the boards.

For the most part I really enjoy the roster make-up of the Wizards and think I could contend for that 8th roster spot. I just need to get some better outside scoring, because Heinrich and Arenas are both struggling horribly from 3 pt. As long as we keep competing I don't see myself trading Arenas unless I get some amazing offer for him.

Wall + Bledsoe could be a good combo, but both plays the same position. I wish Wall improves his mid range and long range so you can start both of them.

As for Gil, I'd really keep him but his shot is VERY VERY hard to master.

                            how's my association going?

                            in a word

awful my franchise is a melting pot of the classic teams meeting today's modern nba and future stars... I took control of my 90s Knicks and well..

                            here

as it stands there's 16 games remaining in this season and I am so far out of the playoff race (6 games back) that I honestly am trying to resign myself to a losing season.. it's rough, it's rough man

so many great teams every game is nuts.. look at my upcoming schedule..
                            Magic's Lakers
                            Kobe's Lakers
                            Mailman's Jazz

.....and I'm 4-9 and yeah... guess no playoffs for me but I'm hoiping my Knickerbockers pull it together and make a run or somethin

As for Gil, I'd really keep him but his shot is VERY VERY hard to master.
Agreed. Wall is wayyy to inconsistent with his mid-range jumper. Like I said, it's definitely intriguing, but doesn't fit the make-up of this team. I'm playing through the season using Real Shot %, but I can tell Arenas certainly has a unique release.

I just beat the Bobcats in overtime to improve our record to 3-4. It was a crazy game because Jackson and Wallace were on fire and to be honest, it definitely felt like a game we were going to lose especially being down 15 at halftime. Not only that, but John Wall and Blatche were in foul trouble for most of the game and Arenas and Howard were ice cold (i think they both shot lower than 35%). We enter the 4th down 13, and that's when John Wall caught fire. They then began to double team him leaving other guys open which allowed us to eventually tie the game up and put it into OT. Wall fouled out in the first possession on a bad charging call, and somehow we won, even though we only scored 5 points the whole OT before they were forced to foul. We really lucked out that Jackson and Wallace funally ran out of gas. It also helped that both Augustine and Tyrus Thomas left the game with injuries.

I'm playing on a fantasy Kings franchise on Pro/Custom and 12 minute quarters.

So far we are 5-1. Last game we beat the Grizzles 97-91. Six players were in double figures led by Derrick Rose who had 19 pts, 4 ast, 5 rebs, and two steals, only ONE TO which is good since he's averaging 3.7 topg for me. The Grizz presented an interesting matchup as they started Durant at the 4, Matt Barnes at 3, VC at 2, Aaron Brooks at 1, and Chuck Hayes at 5. Needless to say, they were gonna try to beat me from the perimeter, and they tried, shooting 33 threes! Of course, with that lineup against mine, I was gonna have the advantage at the boards, and I did. While the total rebound count was 54-53 my way, I killed them on the offensive boards 14-9. Camby had 8 offensive boards alone. He finished with a double double of 17pts, 15 rbs, and two blocks.
