Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

    2011 Season, Pre-Season

    Me- Cavaliers

    Anderson Varajeo
    2012 2nd Rounder

    Trailblazers

    Andre Miller
    Elliot Willaims
    2012 1st Rounder

THe only Center that the Blazers have is Marcus Camby

Also what's something I could realistic with Antwan Jamison, he is 35 years old and has 1 year left on his contract. I liked him from when he played with the Wizards. Could I ship him off to a contender for a 1st rounder or something later.

I guess I have to keep Baron Davis for this year due to his poor contract and ship him off the following year.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Well in my Bulls association before I started I traded Noah and 2 first rounders to the Clippers for Eric Gordon and their 11 first. I was getting killed on the glass and lost a couple games. So I re did the trade and made a couple smaller deals and here they are:

Pistons Get: Keith Bogans, 12 1st
      Bulls Get: Tracy McGrady

Rockets get: Brian Scalabrine, Kyle Korver, 11 1st
Bulls get: Courtney Lee, Demarre Carrol, Brad Miller, 12 2nd round pick

      Here's my rotation:

      Rose / Watson
      McGrady / Lee
      Dang / Brewer
      Boozer / Gibson
      Noah / Miller / Asik

In my first game with this squad I put a beatdown on the Cavs winning 57-43 (7 min quarters). TMac was a beast. Poor Gibson couldn't stop him on the wing or in the post. He scored 19 points on 5-8 shooting and shot 8-9 from the foul line. Lee came off the bench and gave me 6 points. Even though it's one game, I like my depth a lot better than when I gave up Noah. I didn't give up much, just some picks, but I got better and much deeper off the bench which I wanted.

      Thoughts?

General question. Are you guys playing ANY games in these associations? Seems like everyone's simming through to the off-season, getting bored , and no doubt starting again.

To accomplish realism in this game you must combine patience with logic. If you don't invest time or reason into your dynasty, then there's little fulfillment to be gained.
I do. I play 82 game seasons and 12 minute quarters, have only simulated 6 games so far and I'm near the end of season two. Counting the All-Star Break and playoffs, I have played a total of 164 games so far with my Miami Heat. How's that for investing time and patience?

Started a Serpentine Fantasy draft with the Orlando Magic, I started with the 27th pick and ended up with...

            PG-Brandon Roy , Eddie House
            SG-Eric Gordon , Garcia , Afflalo , Greene
            SF-Al Harrington , Fransico Garcia , Donte Greene ,
            Arron Aflalo
            PF-Serge Ibaka , Andray Blatche (he's a beast) , Ryan Anderson
            C-Kendrick Perkins , Chris Anderson

Started off terrible 0-4 Gordon was playing bad and Roy wasn't making shots but Ryan and Blatche played well then BRoy had a 18, 7 and 14 and Gordon had 32 with Blatche providing 20 off the bench. Then I lost a heartbreaker in OT to the Sixers who have Aldridge, Cousins, Batum, Jrich and Conley. Roy had 20, 7 and 11. Next I beat the Blazers who have Pierce and Westbrook in a blowout now that I have a feel of my team and how to make the backcourt of Roy and Gordon work I should start racking up the wins.

              2011 1st Round Pick (#2-Perry Jones), Ty Lawson, Al Harrington & 2011 2nd Round Pick (#21) to WARRIORS for Stephen Curry & 2011 1st Round Pick (#16)

              Chris Anderson & 2011 1st Round Pick (#13) & 2011 1st Round Pick (#14) & 2012 1st Round Pick to CLIPPERS for 2011 1st Round Pick (#10) & 2011 2nd Round Pick & 2012 1st Round Pick

              Draft Picks: #10 - Jan Vesely (F), 2nd Round #10 - Markieff Morris (F)

Re-Signed : Nene, Wilson Chandler, Arron Afflalo
Did Not Re-sign: JR Smith, Kenyon Martin, Marvin Ely, Gary Forbes

Free Agents: Jason Thompson, Marco Belinelli, Sasha Vujacic, Reggie Evans Carlos Arroyo

SG: Arron Afflalo (74), Marco Belinelli (68), Sasha Vujacic (68)
SF: Wilson Chandler (83), Danilo Gallinari (79), Jan Vesely (70)
PF: Jason Thompson (75), Markieff Morris (65), Reggie Evans (62)
              C: Nene (81), Timofey Mozgov (65)

              Team Overall : 83
              Team Salary : $48.84m | Cap Room : $10.03m | Hard Cap Room : $42.51m

All the international flavor on my team wasn't really intentional but I may as well make it a 'theme' for this association. I signed Thompson instead of Landry because I was surprised he was available and I need a better rebounder inside with all my perimeter players.

                Season #2 / Washington Wizards:

Started season #2 3-4 through my first 7 games:

                Win - WAS 106 @ CHA 96
                Loss - WAS 109 @ ATL 113
                Win - PHI 96 @ WAS 103
                Loss - WAS 114 @ NJ 115
                Loss - MIL 97 @ WAS 95
                Win - DAL 80 @ WAS 99
                Loss - MIA 123 @ WAS 111

Since those 7 games, have won 4 straight:

                Win - WAS 101 @ DET 87 (Simmed)
                Win - NY 100 @ WAS 108
                Win - WAS 115 @ BOS 113
                Win - SAS 105 @ WAS 112

Wizards are 4-2 on the road, 3-2 at home, and 6-4 over their last 10.

Nic Young is the leading scorer avg'ing 24PPG, while shooting a scorching 51% from the field, and 53% from 3.

John Wall is second in scoring w/ 21.5, he's also leading the NBA in assists, but also turnovers. He's 4th amongst PGs in steals per game, and 7th in the league overall in steals/per. *With Purists sliders, you can get some nice rips.

Sitting on top the East are the 10-4 Magic, and 9-3 Bulls, followed by the Bucks who have came out strong going 8-3 through their first 11 games.

In the West the Timberwolves have put it together early with a 10-4 record to start the year. The Mavericks and defending champion Lakers have also started strong, both going 8-4.

Kobe is scorching right now, avg'ing 36ppg through his first 12 games. He has scoring efforts of 37, 52, 49, 36, 37, and 45 pts -- All in consecutive games. Then after a 22 pt performance, he has posted 30, 36, and 36 pt scoring efforts over his last 3 games. The 33 yr old Bryant is having one of his most prolific seasons of his career in his 16th year in the NBA. His percentages: 51% FG, 42% 3pt, and 81% FT.

Lastly: Waived Mike Bibby in season #2 nine games into the season. His morale was 0, and I wanted to assign him to Miami anyway. The backup spot behind John Wall is a revolving door. Had initially tried Bibby, but his morale was causing chemistry issues. Then signed vet PG Jason Hart, but he was too unathletic for my liking. Now I've tried Gabe Pruitt, but he is DTD w/ back spasms so I signed Sundiata Gaines and am giving him a shot.

EDIT: My #1 overall pick SG/SF Ronnie House is looking like the real deal. He filled in nicely for an injured Nick Young, and is avg'ing 19 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 2.0 APG, 1.8 SPG, and 0.6 BPG. His FG% @ 39% leaves something to be desired, but he has shot the 3pt'er well at 52%, and is a dead-eye FT shooter @ 89%.

I started a 30 team association but i only play with the Cavs. i chose the Cavs because they suck and because they have so many stupid jerseys. Traded for OJ Mayo to be my scorer.
Gotta play with 30 team association because CPU messes the rotations.

                      [0-0 PHO season 1/All-Star/82gm/10min]

Yesterday i scrapped my Rockets association and started with PHO. The Suns are one of the few teams that don't really have a franchise guy who they know they're going to build around.

Nash is fun to use, and I love Grant Hill, other than them the other guys are just OK. I can already see Brooks' PT being an issue even though i've allocated him 24 mpg and a 6th man role, it's bittersweet b/c i don't like playing w/him but if Nash retires and he wants out, i have no PG.

I'm gonna try to get as much as i can out of Childress even though he has the worst contract for a guy i don't figure to use much. Maybe at the end of the season i might just give him away for a 2nd rnd pick.

                      Nash | Brooks
                      Carter | Dudley
                      Hill | Pietrus | Childress
                      Warrick | Frye
                      Gortat | Lopez | Collins
                      Lakers | Michigan | Dodgers

I am 1.5 games into a new Rockets (post Yao) franchise. I am on pro default now, it's like I've forgotten how to play. My big issue is I have no defense.

Also, this time I am keeping Scola. He has a nice contract ~$8m a year for an 80+ overall is nice.

1-1 with the T-wolves I am doing an 58 game season and I will play only the home games that way it's like really doing a 29 game season plus the playoffs. Before the 1st game I decided to get a veteran all-star I got plenty offers under trade finder but I ended up trading johnny flynn and my 2012 1st round for Tim Duncan. In my 1st game it was great we easily handled the Knicks destroying them on the boards so I'm hoping that will continue for me.

Just wondering how the association mode deals with 1st round, 2nd round picks etc. For example I am going to start an association with the Jazz but will they already have the Nets 1st round pick for 2011 like they do IRL?
