Holy cow...you guys are going to want to read this game

      December 21, 2010
      Washington Wizards (8-12) @ Sacramento Kings (11-8)
      - 96
      - 93

Omri Casspi got an OUTSTANDING 48 POINTS. 12/23 from deep. Here's the headlines

An Enraged Kings Team Watches Evans Injury Lead To Wizards Win
      - Then, with the Kings down three in OT, with only 2 seconds, Omri Casspi gets the ball (shooting 12/24 from deep). As he goes up, Rashard Lewis shoulders Casspi, causing him to fall onto his back, the ball missing and the game ending. No call from the referees, but Evans and Cousins began to push Lewis, pleasantries being exchange. A new, heated rivalry has surely formed.

My signature has the updated blog. I'm appalled that the game even let that foul go. I thought to myself (yes! I got the shooting foul from deep), and no whistle. Omri was on the ground, Evans shot up from the bench and started flailing his arms around. I either got a glitch, or the game's inconsistent refs got me again.

My next game is the Heat. I do not have Tyreke Evans or Jason Thompson, two starters.
Can the Kings turn it around? Come watch my NBA 2K11 Association!

First association I did, the injuries got kind of annoying to deal with. I'm not even bothering with managing the rotations this time around, just letting the CPU handle it. For the other 29 teams, I'm just controlling trades/resignings/drafting/Free Agency/training camps.

If you do not have a capture device like I do... upload your snapshots to the 2k website, wait days for them to actually appear, then save them and edit them to a smaller size if you want, or just upload them straight to photobucket... then to share them on this forum use the html link underneath the photo.

It looks like they may have finally ironed out the several day delay for uploads. I put some up last night and they already showed up, plus all of mine from the last week or so trickled in the last two days

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Alright guys... I'm working on a 3 Team Trade here before the trade deadline... I'm trying to improve my C position, while getting some veteran leadership at the PG spot and possibly getting a solid perimeter defender at the SG position to come off the bench...

The deal involves, Cleveland (Me), Portland, and New Orleans...

                Cavs Trade...
                - (to POR) - PF - Antwan Jamison (71-4) (unhappy with his MIN in CLE)
                - (to POR) - C - Anderson Varejao (71)
                - (to NO) - PG - Jared Bayliss (67)
                - (to NO) - 1st round pick

                Blazers Trade...
                - (to CLE) - C - Greg Oden (72-3) (unhappy with his MIN in POR)
                - (to NO) - SF - Gordon Hayward (66-1)
                - (to NO) - 2nd round pick

                Hornets Trade...
                - (to CLE) - PG - Chauncey Billups (79)
                - (to CLE) - SF - Trevor Ariza (77)
                - (to POR) - PF - Craig Brackens (66)

                BREAKDOWN

                Cavs get...
                C - Greg Oden (72-3)
                PG - Chauncey Billups (79)
                SF/SG - Trevor Ariza (77)

                Cavs lose...
                PF - Antwan Jamison (71-4)
                C - Anderson Varejao (71)
                PG - Jared Bayless (67)
                1st round pick

                Blazers get...
                PF - Antwan Jamison (71-4)
                C - Anderson Varejao (71)
                PF - Craig Brackens (66)

                Blazers lose...
                C - Greg Oden (72-3)
                SF - Gordon Hayward (66-1)
                2nd round pick

                Hornets get...
                Cavs 1st rounder
                Blazers 2nd rounder
                PG - Jared Bayless (67)
                SF - Gordon Hayward (66-1)

                Trade Analysis...

I think this trade would work out more in my favor... The addition of Oden improves my C position... Billups gives me a solid veteran PG that Kyrie can learn from and SF/SG Ariza is the type of versatile defender I need off the bench...

The Hornets are 22-34 and pretty much in a rebuild mode. So, they are looking to dump some salary cap and acquire drafts picks... They already have the Knicks 1st rounder, along with their own in this upcoming draft. This deal would give them a 3rd, 1st round pick, along with a 2nd rounder from Portland...

The Blazers can't seem to keep Oden happy. For whatever reason, they simply will not play him as much as he wants to be played... This deal gives them 2 players that should fit in with their team in Jamison and Varejao... Along with a young PF, Brackins from the Hornets...

                Trade affect on Cavaliers...
As I said before this deal would give me everything that I've been looking for... Veteran leadership at the PG position... Versatile defensive presence at the SG/SF position and an upgrade at the starting C position...

Billups and Ariza would give me a legit bench squad of, Billups, Rush, Ariza, Diebler, Thabeet... Only real weak spot would be my backup PF spot, where Brandon Wright would have to step up a little bit...

Well, thats about it... What do you guys think? I really don't think the trade is unfair, as explained by my reasoning above...

                Anxiously awaiting your thoughts

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So finally got my Knicks association under way. I'm looking to build a young team around the core that is already in place (well most of it) and make them challenge for a title.

10 min quarters, Pro difficulty (till I improve) and no trade overide. Using the actual draft class as well.

Not much money in the coaching budget, but I needed to hire 2 more scouts, which I did - their potential is high but current rating is not. Got them scouting Irving, Kanter and Chris Singelton individually.

                  TRADES

First bit off movement was to release Andy Rautins to Free Agency, I then moved to sign Iverson to a 1 year deal(one of my favorite players, pretty much sign him to every team I play with.

The second bit of movement, will probably make alot of Knicks fans unhappy and maybe it's a little unrealistic but I decided to trade Chauncey Billups, (I know very unrealistic, but Im not a fan of him at all, decorated player but not in plans) Anthony Carter and '12 1st round pick for the Blazers Greg Oden (whom was a target of mine) and Andre Miller. Miller wasn't a target but that's what Portland offered me through Trade Finder so I pulled the trigger.

My third peice of business was to find a rotation for Amare and as I said defense in my first season is key, I'm confident my offense will do the job and progress. So in Trade Finder I offer Andre Miller, Jared Jeffries and my '11 1st round pick. I had a few targets including Young and Cousins but Utah offer me Derrick Favours, Gordon Hayward and their '11 2nd round pick. Favors was one my targets, again to improve my rebounding and defense so I pulled the trigger.

Next up I wanted to find a young talent who I could rotate between PG and SG, as I plan to use Iverson and TD in the PG role and Fields in the SG role. But a little insurance is what I was after so I put Roger Mason, Gordon Hayward and Shelden Williams up for trade. A few offers appear but one that stands out is Spur's. They offer George Hill, (who was a target along with AJ Price and others) Matt Bonner and Steve Novak. They also ask for my '11 2nd round pick. I agree. Which leaves me short in the pick situation but I know I can wheel and deal later.

Next up I wanted someone who I could rotate with Melo. I've already got Williams and Brown, but they are both in their last year of contract and it doesn't seem Williams will resign. Brown says he will and I'm sure I can develop him. I'm unsure on Williams at the moment. Anyway so I offer Renaldo Balkman and Steve Novak and a few offers roll in. My target was Austin Daye but Detroit didn't wanna give him up, instead the Suns offer Jared Dudley, who I overlooked when looking for potential targets. I agree and Dudley is my newest recruit.

Will my team pretty much assembled, I realise I need another pick, so I offer Matt Bonner and the Clippers offer me their '11 2nd round pick. I agree to the move and hopefully I can trade off my '12 2nd round pick and either Utah/Clippers '11 second round pick for a first rounder. We will see.

Lastly I question my depth at the SG position and although I have Fields and Bill Walker (whom im also undecided on) that can play there, I enter Free Agency and sign Rashad McCants who at 26 should be solid (only downside is his IQ). Gives me lots of options now, which is what I want when injury strikes; players who are flexible.

So this is my current rotation below

                  PG - Iverson / Hill / Douglas
                  SG - Fields / McCants / Walker / Hill
SF- Anthony / Dudley / Williams / Brown
                  PF - Stoudemire / Favours
                  C - Oden / Turiaf

                  On notice are : Williams

Undecided on : Walker and Brown

First game at Toronto, followed by a trip to Boston. Will update with results.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Bored so I thought I would throw in a short update while on my phone...

My Milwaukee Bucks are currently leading the Atlanta Hawks 3-2 in the Eastern Conference finals.

It's a huge series with the league MVP Shannon Brown (MIL) going against MVP runner up Steph Curry (ATL).

                      We'll see what happens.

I was leading the series 3-1, and came back to my home floor in Milwaukee looking to advance to the finals until Ben Gordon (ATL) went off and dominated the fourth quarter.

Game 6 is in Atlanta and with the horribly talented Dallas Mavericks (John Wall, Rudy Gay, Andre Iguadala) getting ready to win the series in the West, this game 6 is huge.

By the way, my rotation is:

                      PG J. Kidd
                      SG S. Brown
                      SF W. Chandler
                      PF D. Nowitzki
                      C J. McGee
                      P. Mills
                      J. Reddick
                      C. Frye
                      J. Luer
                      P. Stojakovic

*I went through a fantasy draft at the beginning of my franchise and took Rudy Gay with the first pick, then traded him half way through my second season for Chandler and McGee because he just wasn't producing at the level I was paying him to.

Iam doing a blazer one and oden is fine with me even though he cant stay on the dang court averaging right now only 28 mins a game, but now he isnt getting anything as he is out 6-8 weeks with a broken arm goooo figure lol. i laughed about that

I have it on 28 game season, 7 min sim for user/cpu on All-Star Difficulty.

I really wanted to get Chris Bosh he's one of my favorite players in the NBA. And I picked Melo 1st because he is my best player to use in NBA 2k11. Love Roy Hibbert too got the classic center style about him. I know my backup PG is weak and my bench isn't necessarily the strongest. But I believe my team has great size as well as great bench size. Next year I will look for more bench guard scoring, waiting to see if Gerald Henderson the 6th man will be effective. I believe the "BIG 2" Bosh/Melo will be a deadly combo and my team is very young as well with great future.

I am new to association so I am very excited.

What do y'all think of my trades? Also my team of course?
I would really appreciate any input.

Carmelo Anthony kicks off The Knicks season with an impressive 18 points in Toronto(Apologies for picture quality)

                              Toronto Raptors - 82

                              Defeated By

                              New York Knicks - 87

A new look Knicks outfit have kicked off their NBA season with a 5 point victory over the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre following a busy off season in the trade department.

New York took to the court with a completely new starting line up and almost an unrecognizable bench compared to last season. Carmelo Anthony, Allan Iverson, Amare Stoudemire and Greg Oden suited up for New York alongside the young Landry Fields.

Toronto weren't going to lay down to their visitors though and after an entertaining first half with good performances by Carmelo Anthony for NY and Leandro Barbosa for the Raptors, it was the Knicks ahead by 5 at the break 40 - 35.

Raptors head coach Jay Triano spoke about his team's disappointing field goal conversion rate at the break with the Raptors shooting at 26%. His words encouraged his side, with Jose Caledron. Andrea Bargnani and Leandro Barbosa giving the Knick's defense something to think about.

Carmelo Anthony impressed for the Knicks, scoring 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Allan Iverson was also solid for his team with 12 points and 5 assists. But it was new signing Rashad McCants that really impressed Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni, the former free agent scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.

Too little too late for Andrea Bargnani, who played the last quarter with strained hamstring.

The Raptors rallied late in the second half, managing to score 24 points to the Knicks 23 at the end of 3rd quarter. Andrea struggling to find the net in the first half but impressed in the second with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. His bravery was also on show as he played on through the 4th quartet with a strained hamstring after injuring himself in a followthrough of an attempted jump shot.

The Knicks rolled on in the 4th quarter managing to just outscore Toronto 24 - 23. Leandro Barbosa was always a threat and finished the game with a damaging 27 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Jose Caledron was also in the thick of things scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

At the final buzzer it was New York who managed to hold on, thanks to some clutch shooting at the line as a result of late fouling on the Raptors behalf. Their was a scary moment for the Knicks with two minutes to go as a Leandro Barbosa 3 pointer saw their lead cut to just 3.

The Knicks now travel to Boston and then head home to do battle with Portland.

Mike D'Antini :"It is good to get off the mark in the first game of the season. New look team this season and I was impressed tonight. I thought we defended well tonight, especially in the first half, they could have scored alot more. I was especially pleased with Rashad and what he was able to come on and do off the bench. Now it's on to another tough one in Boston".

Kevin Love returned from injury against the Wizards

January 13th, 2011. John Wall and the Washington Wizards arrived in Minnesota to face a young Wolves team a top their conference and brimming full of confidence from their previous beat down of the second placed Western Conference team the San Antonio Spurs. John Wall had a solid supporting cast in wily veteran Rashard Lewis and talented bigs Andray Blatche and Javale McGee and this team hit the Wolves hard early.

The Minnesota faithful flocked to the Target Center to welcome back Kevin Love who was making his return from an injury that had kept him out of the teams last 21 games. Love struggled to hit his strides early in the piece, with the pace of the game clearly getting to him. Still Love managed to score 11 points and grab 7 boards in 27 minutes of game time. The Timberwolves expect that Love's form will improve as the season wears on.

In the first Rashard Lewis went a little crazy as Martell Webster and then Wesley Johnson struggled to contain him, he hit three of his six trey's in the period to help the Wizards to a one point lead 31 to 30 at the end of the first. Lewis would go on to score 33 points and nab two steals, but the green light from three clearly didn't work for him in the end, with his hitting 6 of 16 attempts from deep. He may have been best advised to put the shot away after the first quarter.

The game was all square at half time as the Wolves pegged back the one point difference in a dour affair with the Wolves scoring 20 points to the Wizards 19. Martell Webster was playing well as starter in the absence of Michael Beasley, hitting smart shots, rebounding well and sharing the ball with his team mates. Webster was at his best in the first half as Isaiah Rider (12 points, 6 assists) struggled to get things going following his two strong games against the Spurs. Webster would finish with 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists while also nabbing a steal and blocking one shot without committing any turnovers for what was a very worthy performance welcomed by his coaches.

                                <a href="http://s46.photobucket.com/albums/f130/wolvesjr34/2K11%20Wolves%20Association/?action=view&amp;current=20110606152639.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f130/wolvesjr34/2K11%20Wolves%20Association/20110606152639.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Flynn was named player of the game

The third period saw Jonny Flynn flex his defensive muscle as he grabbed a few steals to take his total from the game to six as he helped lead the Wolves to an 11 point quarter win 32 points to 21. Flynn joined Webster in the double-double stakes with 21 points and 11 assists to go with his 6 steals. It wasn't a perfect game from Flynn however, as he did turn the ball over five times himself. The effort was enough to win Player of the Game award though as the Wolves would not surrender their lead and held on to win comfortably by 10 points, 111 to 101.

Game Notes: Blatche scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the Wizards. Young Center Javale McGee scored 12 points, nabbed 6 boards and blocked 3 shots. John wall notched a doubvle-double with 10 points and 10 assists. For the Timberwolves Eric Bledsoe scored 15 points while passing for 8 assists and grabbing 1 steal and a block. Bledsoe is right up there with Marcus Thornton in the race for sixth man of the year.

                                Season Record: 30-10.
