Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Currently in year 1 of my 76ers franchise I completely shook up the roster. I traded away Elton Brand and Andre Iguadola to the Sacramento Kings and brought the hometown kid Tyreke Evans back to Philadelphia...I also traded Jrue Holiday to the Raptors for Ed Davis....I could never get into a rhythm with Holiday and didn't feel he was my PG of the future....so after those trades we ended up finishing the season 42-40 and entered the playoffs as the 8th seed and we took on the 1 seeded Miami Heat....we took them to 7 games where we lost......the Lakers went on to win the championship so i'm now heading into the offseason....hopefully I can resign Thaddeus Young.....I may trade Louis Williams for a lottery pick in the draft to see if I can get Kyrie Irving or Brandon Knight....my starting lineup is this currently

    PG: Tyreke Evans
    SG: Evan Turner
    SF: Thaddeus Young
    PF: Ed Davis
    C: Mareese Speights

I'm currently playing on HOF using RedLogic's sliders

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

So after picking up Kyle Singler, JaJuan Johnson, Marshon Brooks and Norris Cole in the 2011 draft, I picked up J.R. Smith in FA and we finished with the best record in the Eastern Conference and grabbed the #1 seed in the playoffs. We swept the Pacers in the first round and had the Magic down 3-0 in the semifinals, but somehow they managed to come back and with the series tied 3-3 and game 7 in Philly, we blew the Magic out 118-88 to advance to the conference finals against none other than the Miami Heat.

Being that they knocked us out in the first round in year 1 after we took them to seven games, I was eager for revenge against the big 3. The injury bug bit us at the wrong time and we lost Mareese Speights for 2-4 weeks and with Samuel Dalembert not being able to mirror Speights offensive production, we lost the ECFs 4-1 to the Heat who went on to win their 2nd NBA title in franchise history defeating the Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs 4-1 as well with LeBron James winning Finals MVP.

On to the off-season and year 3 of my Sixers franchise....hopefully I can resign Thaddeus Young because he's been a huge contributor offensively and defensively for the team.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Alright, Did an Association With the OKC Thunder. 1st season, 2nd Season Simulated With NO TRADES, Got to Conference Finals Once and Lost in 2nd Round The Next Time. Then I started to Make Trades. I traded away Perkins and Ibaka and a pick I believe For Lamarcus Aldridge. As then to top of the Offseason, I signed Dwight Howard out of FA. This is pretty much how my Starting 5 Looks like(Moved Westbrook to SG and Harden to PG for Cap Room, I also Realised some Not Needed Bench)
        PG: J.Harden(83)
        SG:R.Westbrook(89)
        SF: K.Durant(93)
        PF: L.Aldridge(87)
        C: D.Howard(90)
Bench Is almost all the Same except Some New Small Contract Bench Players.
Is my Lineup Good? How would you rate it and do you think I have to make any Trades. ALSO, Will I be able to Face up Against Teams Like LA and Heat Now
        You Mad Bro?

You're not going to be able to realistically keep this team going forward as you won't be able to afford everyone (you've got 3 Superstars and a budding Superstar in Harden) I'd be hard pressed to believe that you even have a serviceable bench and more than likely suffer from Miami Heat syndrome. As I told you before you don't need a bunch of SuperStars to win...you need a team.

Are you playing with fatigue, player role, and chemistry on?

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

In year 3 of my 76ers franchise we went 64-18 during the regular season and clinched the #1 seed in the playoffs for the 2nd straight season. Currently we are in the NBA finals against the OKC Thunder and it has come down to game 7.

I resigned Tyreke Evans to a max contract during the season so heading into the offseason i'm a little worried because i'm not sure i'll be able to keep Ed Davis and Evan Turner as both have assured me they will be testing free agency this coming offseason. I uploaded the 2012 draft class at the beginning of the season and I need to find out a way to trade up to get into the lottery so I can take Austin Rivers or Harrison Barnes to replace Evan Turner should I lose him in FA.

I'll let you guys know if we can capture the title and bring it to Philly!

Not bad I don't know how you can keep Oden but if you work on his Durability in the off season I guess it isn't too bad. Keep developing Patrick Mills and just keep Hassan Whiteside as a big body that rebounds and block shots I'd say don't even try and work on his offensive game not worth it. What year is this and what are their overalls now?

Your 2013 NBA champions are the Philadelphia 76ers! I managed to squeak out a two point win 113-111 to win the Sixers' 3rd championship in franchise history....I had a tough outing in game 7 as Tyreke Evans had a bad shooting game but luckily my bench players Jodie Meeks, Martell Webster, and Josh Smith chipped in enough points to help us get the victory...Tyreke was the finals MVP averaging 24 pts, 6 boards and 6 dimes a game as well as 2 steals a game.

This offseason will be a major challenge for me as I try to resign Ed Davis, Evan Turner, J.R. Smith, Jordan Farmer, and Jodie Meeks....I'm about 90% sure I may lose Turner and Smith thats why i'm hoping I can get a good SG in the upcoming draft.

Downloaded a 2011-2012 post draft roster and gonna use the Cavs. Simulated the first season and unloaded Baron Davis and Jamison big contracts. Headed into the offseason now.

My Cavs open up the new season on a high note with a 123-93 win over the NY Knicks. But the joy didnt last long after Kyrie Irving went down with a ankle injury which later was revealed to be a Broken Ankle that will keep him on the sidelines for 6-8 weeks. After he went down Patty Mills stepped up and finished with 16 points 10 assists 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Free agent pick up Landry Fields had an impressive debut putting up 17 points 5 rebounds and 6 assists while playing spot minutes at the point. Rookie wingman Michael Gilchrist was the leading scorer putting in 21 points to go along with his game high 10 boards. After putting Irving on the IR i went out a picked up Delonte West to backup Mills. Next game is on the road against the Raptors.

Just posted the game reports from the Heat and Raptors games. My star player went off for 50 points and 5 assists against Miami, then dropped 46 points, 14 assists, and 7 boards against Toronto to avenge an early season loss.

Check out my association by clicking on the link in my sig. If you like what you see, please feel free to reply on my thread....a lot of people look at it but don't post anything....so all I have to go on is number of views. I have no idea how many people are actually following it.

Here's the Heat article for a sample:

                          Knight Sky
Darius Knight Drops 50, Hits Game Winner vs. Heat

The Miami Heat (20-9) watch helplessly as Pistons' F Darius Knight (right) rises for the game winner.

Dec. 27, 2013 - We're quickly running out of adjectives to describe what Darius Knight is doing for the Pistons this season. With forward Andrea Bargnani in street clothes on Friday night against the Heat at the American Airlines Arena, Knight simply took over the game in quickly-becoming-typical fashion.

In a game in which neither team held a lead bigger than 5 points, Knight carried the team offensively with 50 huge points and 5 assists. Heat forward LeBron James did his best to keep Detroit at bay with 42 points, 7 assists, and 4 boards....but it wasn't enough.

Let's set the stage here: With 27 seconds remaining, the Heat took a 3-point lead after James threw down a scintillating breakaway slam after a Jrue Holiday turnover.

Coach Tyrone Corbin immediately called a timeout and gave his players two instructions. First, get the ball to Darius Knight. And second, drain as much clock as possible doing it. He didn't want to give the Miami Heat too much time to win the game on a last-second buzzer beater.

As the seconds ticked away, Darius Knight stood at the top of the key, waiting until the very last second to make his move. With 2 seconds remaining on the shot clock, and 5 in the game, Darius Knight rose for a fall-away 3 pointer in an all-or-nothing last attempt to tie the game.

                          Swish.

All the Pistons had to do now to force overtime was to play suffocating defense for 3.5 seconds. Miami's Dwyane Wade had other plans, however, as he curled around a screen and nailed a contested mid-range jumper with 1.4 seconds remaining, giving Miami a 103-101 lead.

And with the Pistons' hopes hanging by a thread, Knight stole back victory by rattling in a corner 3 as the buzzer sounded.

Knight is quickly becoming known as one of the NBA's most clutch shooters, and if he keeps it up, the sky is the limit.

                          Detroit's Key 3

                          1. F Darius Knight: 50 pts (20-27 fg, 7-9 3pt, 3-4 ft), 5 assists

                          2. G Andre Iguodala: 17 pts (5-11 fg, 2-4 3pt, 5-5 ft), 3 reb, 3 ast, 2 stl

                          3. G Jrue Holiday: 17 pts (6-12 fg, 5-10 3pt), 6 ast, 2 reb, 3 stl

                          Miami's Key 3

                          1. F LeBron James: 42 pts (17-21 fg, 1-1 3pt, 7-9 ft), 7 ast, 4 reb, 1 stl

                          2. F Chris Bosh: 22 pts (11-17 fg), 5 reb, 1 ast

                          3. G Dwyane Wade: 18 pts (8-13 fg, 0-2 3pt, 2-2 ft), 5 ast, 4 reb, 2 stl, 1 blk

Now 26-5, the Pistons will head home on Sunday night for a rematch with the Toronto Raptors. Tip-off is at 7pm, and make sure to log on to pistonpower.com for all the post-game analysis.

I've made it to the All-Star break in my custom Association using the 1990-91 LA Lakers. My record is 24-12, two games behind the Spurs for the top spot out West. In my last game, I rallied from a 16-point second half deficit against OKC and won by two, 92-90.

Magic Johnson will be the lone All-Star representative for our team, while Vlade Divac and Tony Smith will be playing on opposite teams in the Rookie-Sophomore game.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Finally downloaded post draft rosters from 2k Share. I am about to run with the Bobcats and develop Kemba into a star.

The way these rosters are set, everyone who is currently an unrestricted free agent is in the FA pool. This should prove to be very interesting watching where everyone ends up.

                                I started with this lineup:

                                PG: DJ Augistine, Kemba Walker
                                SG: Gerald Henderson, Matt Carrol
                                SF: Corey Maggette, Dante Cunningham
PF: Tyrus Thomas, Boris Diaw, Bismack Biyombo, Eduardo Najara, DJ White
                                C: D. Diop

                                FA signings:

                                Kwame Brown- 1 yr/1.12 million
                                Sean Singletary- 1 yr/$761K

I moved Kemba to SG for the moment until I can decide if him and DJ can play with each other. The only thing is, this is a small lineup. I like a lineup of Kemba and Henderson, but there is no way DJ wants to come off the bench. Henderson isn't happy about it either.

                                Trades:

None yet. Here is what I know, I am stuck with Maggette as nobody will want to take on his contract especially at 31. I am also stuck with Diop and Carrol's player options accounting for around $10 million in cap space. I have a huge asset in DJ Augistine. But what should I do?

Makes sense to maybe look to unload DJ and possibly Carrol for a solid role player and a 1st rounder in the lottery with youth and potential. Its possible.

With DJ's contract out at the end of the year, I would have to sign him back with some serious money that isn't necessary with Kemba and Henderson. Thats a solid back court to build around and letting DJ go may be for the best. This year is tank year so it will be okay if I take a ratings hit.

What are you guys' thoughts on what to do with DJ and Kemba? I am about sold on trading DJ for someone who is not afraid to come off the bench along with a lotto pick.
