Minor issue. Got this yesterday. Pacers coach was fired, a new coach was hired two times within in the season.

Do players get more athletic? Not enough to matter. They shouldn't even become that much better at shooting. It's almost like instead of growth potential (that doesn't seem to ever cap) they should have a cap for each individual rating. Like say a rookie SF comes into the league and his 3 point rating is 77, the max it can ever reach would be 83. But just depending on the player and his play style impose a cap on each individual rating so that someone can grow, but that they stop. An A+ potential would just reach their caps more quickly...

Awareness is the only stat that should grow uncapped, but even then it needs to grow correctly... and certain players should still have a cap (Like Zach Randolph... heh.)

      Just my 2c...

      I believe ever rating progress

I wouldnt say its the progression system thats messed up (Last year was its first time in the game)

Its just players are rated slightly too high (I say 5 OVR points too high) and POT is high for all pkayers across the baord

there is little room for improvement and by your 5th season, mostly everyone would be in the 80+ including the generated rookies...

Bottom line, your rosters wont look like the default rosters

      IMO,

80's shouild be reversed from legit All Stars, 90's for Elite guys like Kobe, Wade and LBJ

      70's should be a starter

and 60's should be you role players

guys like Nate and Shaq should be low 70's even Crawford (tendencies and good shooting ratings is good for Crawford)

      Manu is also overrated...VERY

      Morale isnt a problem...Its the ratings...Too high

That's a lot easier said than done. Like it the way it is with a few minor tweaks.

          - Homecourt advantage is out of control. Everybody dominates the schedule at home, then is absolutely putrid on the road.

          - 9 of the playoff series' went 7 games and there was an 8-over-1 upset.

          - Houston was the #1 seed, Dallas did not make the playoffs even though they had no major injuries and traded for Bogut. You're telling me a rotation of Dirk, Kidd, Bogut, Butler, Marion, Terry, Haywood and Barea is not a playoff team? And the Clippers are?

          - Bogut was traded. I forget who he was dealt for, but I'm pretty sure it involved Tyson Chandler as the centerpiece. Which is pretty ridiculous. Other than that though, I will say that the rest of the trades weren't too bad.

          - Morale system needs work. It's literally impossible to use the Celtics, as Shaq, JO, Delonte and Nate all demand 6th man roles or better. Shaq's morale was ok after I raised his mpg, but the other 3 demanded a trade. Lamar Odom was mad. Crawford ended up starting, as they moved Joe Johnson to the 3 even though his secondary position is not SF.

          - Devin Harris was All-NBA 1st Team, putting up 30 a night. CP3 averaged like 14/8.

I'm gonna run a test sim with morale off, and see what happens.
I've now done 2 more test sims (one season each). In one, I turned chemistry and roles off. In the other, I had them on. Turned CPU trading OFF for both, just to see how 2k has these teams turn out.

I'm actually very pleased to say that the standings (as far as playoff teams) and individual statistics were very, very good. Far better than any 2k in the past. The home/away thing remains an issue unless you're Miami (64 wins in the last sim), but overall it looked very good.

Not every series went 7 games in the last 2 simulations. Dallas made the playoffs both times. CP3 averaged about 19 and 8. Harris back down to earth at 18 and 7.

The only 3 gripes I've had with the last 2 simulations are homecourt advantage in the standings and the fact that the Lakers were the 2nd seed in sim 1 and 5th seed in sim 2. LA also never got to the Finals. In sim 1, OKC beat them in 7 in the 2nd round and in sim 2 Utah beat them in 6 in the Conference Finals. They should be there. Lastly, the Raptors fired Jay Triano, signed another coach and fired him in no lie 7 days. Come on. lol

What I'm going to do for association: keep player roles on, turn team chemistry off. That way, when teams like the Celtics get hit with the crybaby bug with 3-4 players whining about roles/minutes, their chemistry doesn't drop to 0% (which it did in sim 2) and affect their wins/losses. In real life, I realize chemistry affects wins/losses, but some of the guys that get upset in 2k11 probably won't in real life.

My last 2 simulations compared to my initial sim... night and day.

so Player Roles on and Chemistry off would mean that individual player suffer (or excell) but team records stay in line more or less ?

I didn't plan on starting an Association until around the start of the season, anyway. Hopefully this stuff is patched...

I just want to say a big thankyou to all you guys running simulations and posting results. I only have time to play like one game a night and I really appreciate you guys trying to find workarounds and things. Hopfully 2K reads this thread and patches some of the issues. Someone (with more time ) should think about compiling a guide to running a franchise with all of these suggestions laid out and explained. I know it would be a ton of work, which is why I can't do it. Anyway sorry for the rant, Thanks guys!

No problem man! As far as I can tell, turning player roles, team chemistry off will solve some issues.

Lowering POT for all players in draft class using scale will from what I'm hearing help with rookies progressing too fast and too high.

Wait for a patch to fix road records, no workaround for that mess.

Other than that, I honestly can deal with any other issues. The FA signings and trades seem ok to me. If they fix the HCA problem, teams will have realistic records where bad teams are bad, and good teams are good.

This will help with the teams making the playoffs, meaning more realistic seedings. Also will help with the too high amount of 7gm series cuz HCA won't be so dominant.

Oh and they BETTER patch the issue with the ps3 freezing when u try to watch the white house visit. I don't wanna win a championship and never be able to at least see it!

I also just ran this test, and my results are more or less the same as his were.

There's nothing we can do about the stupid home court advantage bug, but turning off these options fixes other aspects a minimal amount.

What about simming the games through GameCast, or whatever it's called, to try and get rid of the massive home court advantage?

Yes, if you keep player roles on. The same guys will still cry about minutes, and guys will still cry about there role after being injured.

Turning of chemistry and roles is the best way to go for now.
