Ya Warriors were terrible because Don Nelson is an awful coach and they have no defense. Every team in the NBA would fast break more if they had the personel, it's an extremely efficient way to score.

alot of peoples problems on the defensive side is take a shot with kobe on the perimeter and his defender contends the shot then leaks out while kobe(me) watches to see if the shot went in. then the other team get a defensive board and throws to the leaking player for the dunk. took me a while to fix myself

i just wish my guy wouldn't slow down for some unknown reason. i've had it happen twice where right after the FT line my player takes a hesitation step, letting the defender get in front of him.

That's because 2k10's fast breaking was wide open. You could run the floor and have beautiful 3 on 2 fast breaks play out realistically. It's not happening in 2k11. It's always 3 on 3 or 3 on 4 with poor spacing. I'd like to see someone try and play realistically with the Warriors and put up 120 points. It would never happen because you can't get out and run. sorry man, but this is a video game and video games leave room for EXPLOITS. 2k11 is PERFECT how it is now. What your asking for is to risky, way to risky....i have fast breaks and i play on pro/default....

I thank what people want is either a) More intelligent ai temmates who understand how to get open or b) The ability to control the type of pass you throw so you can avoid the always perfectly placed defender.

This is exactly my opinion as well. As good as the game is out of the box, the game just needs to be tweaked to be more balanced. That's all. It will only benefit more gamers (beginners and old timers), and they would appreciate the game more. More players liking the game = more income to 2k = more 2k games in the future!!!

OK guys...I'm not even going to post videos. I tried rookie, pro, all star, superstar, and hall of fame. I ran a different kind of fastbreak each and every mode OFF of rebounds. And I was playing with Boston. I even played a game where McVee from the Wiz ran the floor for an alley oop. Does anyone remember big men wouldn't even run in 2k10. Please someone close this thread. This is non-sense.

edit: I even did a few give and go. That looked sweet. Those were on Hall of Fame to boot. In one game on a 3 on 2 fastbreak on Hall of Fame. I spun in the lane with Paul Perice off one defender. The other one came over to contest the shot. I kicked the ball out to Ray Allen for 3. Swish....
I'm not saying you guys need to get better. But I would go back and give it a try again.

Well you seem to be Mr. Fastbreak while others (myself included) are not having as much success with fastbreaks. Don't get me wrong, I do get them in the game, but they are not portrayed realistically and they don't happen enough. How many fastbreak points do you have in an average game? Myself, I'm struggling to get 10 in a game where my fast break sliders is full for the whole game.

This happens because your teammates just aren't agressive enough on the break. There is no reason why my teammates should be jogging up the court if I have my fast break slider full and my offesnsive tempo slider at around 75%. My sg and sf should be leaking out as soon as a shot goes up with my break slider maxed and I'm not seeing it happen. Combine this with the fact that the AI gets back on defense a bit too quick and that they always play the passing lanes perfectly, and you have a recipe for some frustrating times on the break. We are not hallucinating, this area needs some work. Just because 2k has made a damn great game, lets not act like there aren't flaws. Flaws that don't kill the game in the grand scheme of things but flaws nonetheless, and fast breaks are one of the flaws in this game.

I don't think fastbreaks are broken at all.

The most effective fastbreak opportunities come from turnovers. I don't know about you guys, but I am consistently averaging more turnovers than the CPU, explaining me having less fastbreak points than them.

This is the PROBLEM with fastbreaks, of course they're going to be fine after turnovers. That's a given. In every other fashion it's terrible. The CPU gets back on D way too quickly after misses and makes.

And it's not about if the Warriors or Knicks are good or not (pretty sure the 80's Lakers had a few decent teams anyway) but how their offense is reflected in 2K.

Personally I think they are fine...Every fast-break isn't the same but the opportunities are there if you make the right pass and have the personnel on the floor.

Just for reference, the average NBA team has about 13-15 fast break points per game with teams like Golden State averaging 20+ fast break points per game. I'm playing 12 min qtrs and through about 10 games, I've yet to score more than 12 fast break points.

You guys that seem to say nothing is wrong with the breaks, are you able to get double digit fast break points every game? I have a very hard time believing you are.

I was playing gamestyle: default. With 5 minute quarters. Maybe thats the problem? You don't have to play on sim to get realistic numbers.

I'm really thinking that the default gamestyle has everything to do with this. I haven't tried the default gamestyle, but I just might have to. I'm curious if you've ever played on sim gamestyle and still been effective at the break.

Also, for those that are having trouble on the break, what gamestyle are you on?
