The Warriors are perfect for this. They're young and talented. Curry, Ellis, and Lee are great pieces. Biedrins is a young (23 years old) center, and you have Epke Udoh and Brandan Wright to develop. Plus, they have big expiring contracts in Radmonovic and Gadzuric.

I love the idea of the Celtics as a re-building team. This is going to be my long-term Association after some bug fixes come out. Rondo is awesome.

The Bucks are an interesting team, too. I guess you could argue that they're not a re-building team. They're still too far away to be considered a contender, though. Bogut and Jennings are great pieces to build around. You have Redd's big expiring contract, but you're hampered by Maggette's deal and Salmons. Not a lot of depth there either.

The Wizards and Knicks are popular picks, too.

I'm in year 3 of Association rebuilding the Wizards and Kings. Kings are now a top team in the West with Tyreke and Cousins, and I also traded for Josh Smith and picked up Shawn Marion and Marcus Camby from Free Agency, and drafted Tristan Thompson, Ricky Rubio and James McAdoo.

Wizards have been challenging. I traded Gilbert Arenas and a couple other guys for Amare Stoudemire after year 1, but made the mistake of hanging on to Al Thornton, Nick Young, and Andray Blatche. While they're all solid, none of them progressed very much. Should have hung on to Yi Jianlian, he's now like a 76 or 77 for the Knicks.

When you say you're in year 3, does that mean you just sim most of the season? I'm tempted to do that this year, I'm so neurotic and OCD about stats though so I always have to play the game and earn them myself lol

Planning on starting association with the Wizards as soon as I can beat the damn A.I on all-star lol

No idea where they fall on the rebuilding spectrum, but I picked the New Orleans Hornets. They seem to be sort of a middling team, as you already have a superstar in Chris Paul to build around. He is awesome in this game, by the way; I've never before recorded as many steals in a basketball game as I am now; he's an absolute ballhawk.

You've also got a large contract in Peja Stojakovic (sp?) if you want to do a trade involving a big-money player.

I created the Carolina Flight and the other day I replaced the Bobcats with them. I actually made a thread about this a couple of days ago. Originally I was intending to transfer the Bobcats roster to this created team but I blanked out when I was doing it and eventually signed free agents.

I messed around for a while and did a franchise for the Flight and it was pretty fun trying to rebuild them with the free agents.

My first year, someone actually gave me a first for Iverson. I cant remember the other trades I did but somehow I ended up with 3 picks in the 1st round and 2 in the top 10. I just missed out on a Carmelo Anthony clone and so I drafted on a young version of Jason Kidd. He was pretty studly. I think he entered the league with an 83 rating.

Ive since fixed the roster and cloned the Bobcats roster to the Flight but Im now thinking it was probably more fun with the free agents.

Here's some teams:

New Jersey Nets. If you can make a deal for Melo, you can build around him and Brook Lopez.

Minnesota Timberwolves. Not a ton of talent, but if you are a SU hoops fan, you get to play with Jonny Flynn and Wes Johnson

Indiana Pacers. Danny Granger is solid.

Philadelphia 76ers. Cool unis and court. Have some decent talent.

Golden State Warriors. See 76ers.

Well, today I DID come up with a plan for my Boston Celtics, and the Warriors and Kings are still in the running, but also the Wizards are looking pretty good. I'll come out with a top 5 once I get a few more suggestions. If there are any more to look at.

I'm doing one with Bobcats and i'm having a lot of fun. They have strong players like GWallace and Stephen Jackson and i was able to get Iverson and Arenas to try and reach the playoffs in the first season...

I always start my Association with aspirations of playing lots of games, but I, contrary to you, have ADD. And I'm too competitive to continue to take losses. So I simmed my first two seasons after playing about 10 games with each team (Kings and Wiz), but now that I'm in year 3, both teams are competitive and I plan on playing a lot of games.

Use the Wizards. Every time you score with wall you can get up and dance.

Dude, is there a way to initiate this? I've yet to see him do the "John Wall dance" like they show in the commercial. I know this is off topic, but I've been waiting to see him bust it out.

I'm leaning toward the Warriors, because of Steph Curry, Monta Ellis, David Lee, Ekpe Udoh, and Biedrens. But Im debating wether I should reload my Celtics after one season or at the trade deadline or just stick with the (pains me to say it) declining Big Three.

I'm semi-reloading after one season with the Big 3. First season, I plan to play with little-to-no shaking up the roster. I might try a Ray Allen for Michael Redd deal, which would take 18 mil off the payroll at season's end. Then I could re-sign Perkins AND Big Baby. If I keep Ray Ray, I'll only re-sign Perkins.

I want to move Pierce on draft day, hopefully Pierce and my 1st rounder can land me a lottery pick. Then I can take a stud and let Allen's and KG's contracts expire at the end of year 2, freeing up something around 25 million.

Just my 2 cents for rebuilding the Celts while still contending (year one) or making the playoffs (year 2).

If you're looking for an actual rebuilding project then I recommend the Cavaliers. I've played three games and I'm already convinced it's going to be a looong season. For some reason I'm having a hard time finding a consistent offense with this group, especially from the bench.
