Re: What should Blake Griffin be rated?
I don't think he is worthy of 90+ for offensive rebounding.. if you put his putback tendency up like I did then he will also try and get in better position for putbacks which will lead to better positioning for some extra rebounds.
Some of the moves that I changed are to make him look more authentic on the court... he has shown that he can handle the ball fairly well and he has also made some unorthodox shots down low as well.
Don't knock my BGriff till you have played him.Comment

Yea, cuz you just assume that I have no idea what Im talking about.
Get off your high horse buddy.
The sim stats came out very accurately. Also, I know for a fact that I didnt bump up anything more than 5 points except his layup rating. His layup is something like 65 right now. Dwight Howard's in the mid 70s so I put BG's at somewhere around there(its not over 80 I know that).Comment

Re: What should Blake Griffin be rated?
Crazy... just like Griffin averaging 22.8PPG and 12.8RPG and 27.5PPG 13.9RPG & 3.8APG in his last 10 games as a rookie!Comment

Re: What should Blake Griffin be rated?
Blake has a decent jumper for those who only watch highlights and just sees those nasty dunks he has a nasty bank game too he goes glass quite oftenComment

Re: What should Blake Griffin be rated?
I'm not talking about sim stats.... And the end of the day. That is not important to the overall picture. You guys are giving him a high ratings so that his simmed stats come exactly like real life. But on the other end... If you played with him in a user vs user or user vs cpu. You would be able to drop 60 with him. That's what crazy to me.
edit: just saw those high horse comments.... please relax... when I say your 85's were crazy. It wasn't like I called them "stupid". Blake Griffin stats have increased each month.Last edited by jeebs9; 01-19-2011, 12:43 PM.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Its not like Im boosting him to the point where he dribbles like a guard, becomes a lights out shooter, or a great passer.
His play IRL has shown that he is one of the best rebounders, one of the most athletic bigmen, the most agile bigman and is already one of the best passing bigmen in the league.
In the last month in a half he has been the most dominant big man in the league. Name a player in the league right now that is avg. 28ppg 14rpg and 4apg in the last 10 games or has even done that in any 10 game stretch the last couple of years in this league?
John Hollinger even has an article today on ESPN.com Insider talking about Griffin's rookie season is the 3rd best in the last 40 years according to PER(Player Efficiency Rating). Only behind David Robinson and Michael Jordan.
I can post that article if youd like because I know many dont have ESPN Insider so a link would be useless.
A rating boost only reflects his great play as of late IRL.
Its a bonus that the assoc. sim stats come out accurately.Comment

Calling that rating crazy is no better than calling them stupid IMO.Comment

Re: What should Blake Griffin be rated?
80? scoring 47 points on 24 shots (19/24) with only 1 of those being a dunk..... on YOUR team... lmao.
what does he gotta do to get rated an 85 or higher? score 100 on yall?
if Blake Griffin isn't an 84 at LEAST.. then you're just hating cuz it's his 1st season playing in reg season.Comment

Re: What should Blake Griffin be rated?
That's why probably why I'm not with all these boost...
And Brew please don't come at me with the "I watch NBA League Pass story".... Big Deal. I don't have league pass. But I do watch every single game (actually I download every single one).
A guy drops 47.... And then you say "in the last 10 games. He has averaged"... That 47 point game boosted all of his next 10 games worth of stats lol. How about we wait until All Star or maybe at the end of the month. Lets not jump to boost a player. And make him a Vet All Star.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: What should Blake Griffin be rated?
You guys are looking at one game... Im not.
I didnt even mention his 47pt game and actually changed Griffin and Gordons rating and tendencies before that game even happened because I felt they deserved the boost and wanted more accurate sim stats. Check the association board for proof. The sim stats were accurate and playing with both players felt more like their real life counterparts. Its contradictory to say that we read into OVR too much than say an 85 for him is too high. It seems like you guys are discrediting his ability just because he is a rookie. A rookie that is having the 3rd best rookie season in the last 40 years. Only Jordan and the Admiral were better.
This whole ratings argument goes back to the fact that they dont update ratings enough in the so called Living Rosters. If the rosters were updated on a regular basis that 10 game stretch and beyond would be reflected in players who are hot and also who are struggling. Griffin has been an 82 for the last two months.
Also as far as me giving you the so-called league pass story... it was just a reminder that I dont just watch highlights and go "crazy" on the ratings.
I have League Pass and dont have the time to watch every single game; so have fun "downloading" and watching every single game.
I understand Im a new guy around OS so you guys are going to discredit my opinion and think its "crazy" thats the only reason Ive continued to defend it with facts/stats, & expert analysis from credible sources.
It just amazes me that you guys are so quick to jump on an opinion with no true counter of your own. "Your just looking at one game or your acting like hes a veteran All-Star."That to me is "crazy."

Re: What should Blake Griffin be rated?
Really... an 82 or an 85? As long as he plays like he should offline (CPU) then that is all that matters. Now when we get to online play... he needs to have the ratings to back up what he does on the court. So if that is an 82 or an 85 or whatever else, so be it.
@Jeebs... you are saying that you don't care about OVR but then care when someone wants him to be 85? I don't get it? Going from 82 to 85 doesn't mean that he is going to get a massive overhaul of all his ratings. He just needs a boost here and there. Sure right now he is the "ticket" item in the NBA but he is balling!
The 2k insider needs to stay on his game and boost Griff and then if he falters down the road drop him down... no biggie. I just don't see why everyone is like "OMG he can't be that high".
If the 2k insider did his job regularly and updated once a week or so then we would be able to play with the latest and greatest all the time. But instead we are stuck with players with ratings from weeks ago if not older and they just don't play like they should.
Again look at the B. Griff that I put up and play a game against and with him and tell me that it doesn't play good.Of course sliders and whatnot will change everyone's experience.
