Actually, it was the 95 Magic and the 99 Knicks that got to their respective Finals. The season for the Magic started in 94, but the playoffs and Finals were in 95, so they're considered the 95 Magic. And for the Knicks, since that season really didn't start until January of 1999 due to the lockout, they really were the 99 Knicks.

Either way, the Magic would be fun just because they had a fun team that season, but they never accomplished anything. The 99 Knicks too didn't really accomplish anything either, since they lost in the finalsnduring a shortened season. What we know so far about NBA 2K14 - FAQ/QA:

Re: Can MORE Classic Teams be far behind?
Someone around here posted that someone from 2k posted a list of classic teams that are going to be in the game and I think those two might have been on it. At least the kings were. I'd love to see the bucks team that got shafted in the playoffs back in like 2002 or something. Cassell, Ray Ray, and Glenn Robinson <3 lol. I'd also love the 1970 Knicks, one of the Dr. J teams, and the Barkley suns that made the finals. And the Hakeem rockets and penny and shaq magic. It would also be cool if they had one of TMacs teams.NFL: Bills
NBA: Bucks
MLB: Cubs
NCAA: Syracuse
Soccer: USMNT/DC United

Re: Can MORE Classic Teams be far behind?
Yes, I know, I guess I was a bit unclear. When I say 94 Magic I mean the team that played the 94-95 season and got to the finals. Sorry for thr misunderstanding.

You're right the were fun teams to watch, especially the 1999 Knicks and all those crazy playoff upsets and clutch moments for me...So were the 1990-91 Warriors, who are included in the game and never accomplished anything.Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.Comment

This is going so sound more smart alec-y than I want it to but..... You guys have heard of 2k share haven't you? I'm not against 2k adding more classic teams but there are some
great CAPS out there. Portlandblazer and mkharsh CAPS are as good as anything that comes with the game.
More classic teams are fine. Gameplay improvements is what it's really all about.Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013

I understand your statement regarding gameplay though. I think major strides will be made. 2K doesn't seem to have a history of compromising gameplay for features. It sounds like retro teams and gameplay are going to see sizeable upgrades.Last edited by VDusen04; 07-22-2011, 11:46 PM.Comment

Re: Can MORE Classic Teams be far behind?
Apologies for the double post, but taking a peek at last year's Developer Insights, it looks like their first one came on July 22nd. It was about the Jordan Challenge and provided a list of all included historic teams. I heard Ronnie from 2K suggest we take a look at last year's insight schedule to get an idea of when to expect information this year. I'd assume this week was taken care of with the release of the triple cover. But perhaps information may come down the pipe next week? Further, riding the wave from the classic cover reveal, maybe there's a solid chance it'll regard classic teams.Comment

Re: Can MORE Classic Teams be far behind?
I may have mentioned this in another thread but, as much as I love all the 2KShare seasons (I have most that were offered by portlandblazer and mkharsh), nothing compares to real likenesses, real jerseys, real signatures, and real court art. Those are my biggest hopes regarding the newest retro teams in 2K11. I mean, 2K10 had seasons too, full with Bulls teams featuring created versions of MJ, Horace Grant, Bill Cartwright and John Paxson. That was still awesome fun. However, it doesn't even come close to the experience of having the actual likenesses like we do in 2K11 with Horace's goggles and Bill's crazy awkward shooting signatures taking place on the old Chicago Stadium hardwood. Just like it's fun using the CAP Chris Mullin, but the ability to use a real Mullin with the rest of the '91 Warriors in 2K12 (hopefully on their old court) will be on another level.

This.
As much as I love some of the user-created players/teams, like you said, it still doesn't compare to having the actual likeness of them that the developers can give us.
I'll take the real MJ any day over someone's 2Kshare version. Hell, I'll take the real Jud Buechler over a user-created version."I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying."

Re: Can MORE Classic Teams be far behind?
That'd be nice, wouldn't it? I'm keeping my hopes at bay, but the inclusion of the '02 Sacramento Kings squad (confirmed by SimBaller) would seem to indicate they might need a worthy opponent from that time frame, wouldn't it? And who else would better fit the bill than the '02 Lakers? I mean, I think Kobe's fro was a bit reduced at that point, but it'd still be pretty intense, right?Comment
