For the sake of clarity, is it still impossible to edit the classic teams prior to using them in the "Greatest" challenge? So that '85 Bucks-76ers matchup will still have to be a shell of what it should be without any form or Charles Barkley and Andrew Toney? And generic players will still be checking in during certain situations during a lot of the other games as well?

Further, the exporting will be limited, yeah? So will the ability for skilled roster creators thus be nullified if they wish to create entire seasons, as so many did last year? Also, wasn't there a weird bug associated with exporting players (or created players) at some point? Do we know if that still exists? I think it used to default their face or turn them into monsters.

It is indeed good news there's at least some semblance of classic editing, but it appears terribly limited, about 1/10th the ability we had last year. I remain disappointed with the fact that we may not even be able to complete all 30 of the included classic teams (without using a pile of separate roster files). Or am I misunderstanding something?

Look folks, this exporting team thing is not the savior many of you think it is.

1) Each exported team takes up a created team slot. There are only 10 loadable slots. That means only 10 All Time teams can be used per association. This sucks for people who want a full All Time association.

2) When you export a team, you DO NOT get any of their alternate jerseys. You only get the default home and default away jerseys whether they are a classic team OR a regular team.

3) No franchise records follow exported teams. It's like it's a brand new expansion team. (If that stuff matters to you.)

All in all, it would just be better if we could move guys around in the main roster menu like last year. But it ain't happening.

Glad we can do it ..KINDA! Why not let us have that freedom to just trade players like last year .. I want to know why 2k changed it .. Roster makers are gonna hate this

Righto, that's what I was thinking as well. For those interested in true classic rosters, I don't think the exporting work around is going to do much for us. Not to mention, I'm still bummed I won't even be able to edit shoes, accessories, and players on the included classic teams before I attempt the "Greatest" mode. Some folks may scoff at such a notion being a big deal, but for instance, the ability to change the '86 Celtics shoes to black last year added a ton to the immersion of the Jordan Challenge. While they may be in black shoes by default this year, I'd venture to say there will be other edits I wish I could make before diving into this mode.

Just to clear things up from what I said earlier This is what I have found that can be done:

*Important* have two roster files. 1 for the original rosters and one for the roster you will be editing

-You can use any of the legend team(s) (once you unlock them all) in OFFLINE ASSOCIATION
-You can use any of the legend team(s)/player (once you unlock them all) in NBA:CREATE A LEGEND AND MY PLAYER
-You can put legends onto recent teams and vice versa

Steps for putting legend teams in OFFLINE ASSOCIATION:
1.Start new offline association
2.Turn the option for Customize League to on
3.Replace any teams you want with the legend teams
*Fantasy Draft with the old players can be done too

Steps for legend(s) and team(s) in NBA:CREATE A LEGEND AND MY PLAYER. Note-Cant use legend courts or jerseys for NBA:CAL OR MY PLAYER
1. Start New Season
2.Turn the option on for Customize League to on
3.Add team you want in (can only do 1 team at a time I think) but pick the team your trading the player(s) to.
4.Trade the player(s) to the team you want them on ex. 97-98 bulls for this years bulls choose this years bulls as your team for season and trade the player(s) to their roster
5.Export the team
6.Leave mode
7.Load exported team
8.Save that roster to whatever roster your gonna use for MY PLAYER OR NBA: CAL
9.Start up MY PLAYER OR NBA:CAL and they should be there

Using legends courts and jerseys in OFFLINE ASSOCIATION w/current players. Note- There are only 12 legend courts. You can find this out by doing a quick game pressing Y or triangle and going thru the arenas
1.Start season mode
2.Pick team you want to have Trade whatever teams Roster to the exported team ex. choose Supersonics and trade Player(s) from OKC thunder roster to them.
3.Export team
4.Leave mode
5.Load exported team
6.Start Offline Association and choose the exported team to replace OKC Thunder or whoever you want them to replace

This probably sounds and looks real complicating. We shouldn't have to do all this but we do. Trust me tho this works.

If anybody has questions just let me know in this forum

This is good news. Unbelievable we have to go thru all this, but at least we can do it. Thanks for doing this.

Not to take anything away from the man who has spent an entire evening, night, and morning working to find solutions for all of us, but this work-around was already talked about in the Q&A thread before 5:00pm yesterday. It's just people didn't want to hear it then. And for good reason. This still sucks that we can't have 30 all-time teams, just 10.
