How would one team have more key games than others? You have Rival key games; each team has 3 rival teams. There's a few interconference rivals (LA / Boston), but for almost all of the teams, they're playing 4 games against each Rival.

Next Key Game feature is key player opponent, which is position specific, not team specific.

After that it's mostly stuff like playoff race and playoff elimination games.

I was at 78 overall because KEy Games give you twice the skill points. I was nabbing commercials my first year.

Fast forward to my player drafted by the pistons, they have 4-8 Key Games and missed the playoffs. My overall after one season was 70.
Uhm, by playing all games? :o I'm 71 at the end of my rookie season with only playing Key Games.

My first PG, which I played most of the rookie season games, broke 90 early in 2nd season...

Actually, every team doesn't have three rivals. Not by NBA 2k12 standards. The Suns rivals were Dallas, Lakers, and.... damn, who else was it.... I forgot, but there was atleast one more. The Pistons rivals were the Bulls and The Pacers only. The LAkers (who I play for now) rivals were only Celtics and Heat. Every team has a different amount of Key Games due to the way their rivalry games are set up. Now that I start I get a lot more KEy Games, but they are not all the same.

All you have to do is get drafted to different teams and see what their key games are, they are all different.

And no, I played only the Key Games, but I played a few extra games in my Suns season, like when we went to New Orleans. I'm just guessing that if you play the games, you can have your player play better, earning you more skill points. But the most skill points come from Key Games.

I absolutely love these kinds of modes. When I read how deep 2K12's was, I knew I had to have this game.

I created a 6'4" SG from Michigan named AC "Money" Baldwin.
He's a cocky S.O.B. who talks in 3rd person and only cares about himself.

During my pre-draft interviews I told Indiana flat-out that I wouldn't play for their organization.
I'm about glitz, glamour and the big lights from big cities.

I was drafted by Philly 15th overall.

Slowly my skills are improving but my team stinks. Nobody can rebound, shoot or defend.
If my teammates were any good, I might feel bad about calling them out in all of my post-game pressers.

In my last game vs the Clippers they moved me to SF and I was dominated by Blake Griffin.
I still managed to score 21 with a couple of assists and a steal.

In the game before that I was lighting up the Trailblazers. I had 22 going into the 4th quarter. That's when I got sat! Are you kidding me? We're up by 1 and you sit "Money". Nobody disrespects AC like that.
I let everyone know at the presser that it's hard to win the game without my talents on the court.

I'm going to continue knocking down 3's, playing lackluster defense and barely passing the ball.
I'm a scoring machine and if the suits and scrubs in the Philly organization can't handle what AC is cooking up, then they better trade me right freakin' now.

I make it rain out there son!

(This game is so much fun. I'm glad I took a detour and went with a b'ball game this year.
I've mainly been playing My Player though. I'll have to check out the legends teams soon. I hear that's great as well).

Re: Official NBA 2K12 My Player Thread

            Can anyone give me advice?

I have a 6'7 SG from Siena. I'm a 96 mid range shooter, so pretty much everything goes in inside the arc, and I'm working on mastering the fadeaway.

            Heres the problem:

I'm on the Knicks with a starting rotation of:

            Tony Parker
            Myself
            Melo
            Stat
            Jordan Hill

That isnt a terrible starting lineup. I cannot win a game at all. Since I got traded to Knicks I am averaging around 20 on almost 50% shooting. Not great, but not bad. I shouldnt be losing as much as I am. I dont think I'm the problem but I cant be sure, this team should be winning more games. Anyone have any imput?

Some of the key games are matchups.

Like I'm a SG, and a key game of mine is against Joe Johnson because he's rated so highly.

I'm playing every game as well. I just entered February of my rookie season.

Just made a 6 foot 5, 205 lb point guard.
                He's from USC.
I made him a 3 pt. specialist and I just rained em down in the rookie showcase.
Ended up with 42 pts., 4 assists, and 5 rebounds.
Tried to impress all the teams in the interviews.
Which were Pistons, Bobcats, and the Bucks. He ended up going Pick #9 to the Bobcats. Starting out with 12 min. off the bench.

(They really improved this mode a lot. It's really fun. )

So that means you're a starter. Starter's have matchup key games but when you are coming off the bench, like you do for most or all of your rookie year, the only key games are rivals and playoff races.

Just started a new My Player, a 6'7" SG. Balled out in the Showcase dropping 25 PTs, 12 Rebs, 11 Asts, 2 Blks and 3 Stls. Got drafted 6th to the Wizards even though I told them I didn't really want to play for them. The three teams that interviewed me, Wizards, Bobcats and Pistons I all told I didn't want to play for them (well for Washington I answered one bad and one "so-so" answer).

I'm going to try to play every game of this one to see how it goes. First game against The Nets we lost... in blowout fashion. My stats read 14 Mins, 8 PTs, 5 Rebs, 3 Asts, 1 Blk, and 1 Stl with 0 Turnovers. Hope they get us some more scoring cause right now, outside of Wall and Young, we really have no other scorers.

I got quickness to 75. I might start boosting Shot Low Post and Off Awareness after I get Quickness to 80

we started 1-5, I couldnt take it no more so I requested a trade to the Blazers or Lakers. Ended up 1-7 got traded to the Blazers. Won my first game with the Blazers who were surprisingly 1-8 when I got there. We beat the Bucks 93-79. We about to turn it around and make a run.

So how are you guys building your players?

6-7, scoring, shooting guard on the 76ers:
-First thing I did was get vertical to 99
-Worked on 3pt shot - Currently at 85
                        -Stamina to 90
                        -Quickness to 80
-Ball security to 70 (want to get this in the 80's, at least)
                        -Dunk to 50

And I brought the shooting off the dribble ability to great.

As mentioned before, I really want to get security to the 80s+ because I still get ripped all the time. Then after that I'm going to get consistency up. Then maybe layup high enough so I can get a package. Anyone know how high I need it to be before I can get a package for layups?

After that then I'll work on my physical stats. Quickness, speed, etc...

I usually never touch defense or rebounding because I believe the player (the guy with the controller) really decides that stuff more than anything. Like, I don't care how well you have the release down, you aren't making DeAndre Jordan to Ray Allen. But you can make Steve Nash a pretty darn good defensive player without touching his stuff.

Anything I'm overlooking? How is the awareness working out for those who raised it? Other than seeing your overall level raise, any difference on the court?

Med Shot maxed out and 3pt to 90(ok with it there)
Quickness to 75(I want to get into the 80)(Currently boosting this)
Strength to 66(want to get into 80s)
On-Ball Def maxed out. Doesnt help that I am very slow and not quick
                          Vertical maxed
                          Shoot in Traffic to 90
                          Consistency to 95
                          Off Clutch to 90

I like to focus on one rating at a time rather than improving multiple ratings at once. I am at the point where I can focus on little things, But I need to boost Stamina, Speed and Quickness, Ball Security. After I get those to 80+. I can start buying abilities.

I am about to stop boosting 3pt using shooting drills. It is constantly costing more Points to get to Gold and since I face Jamal Crawford, it is extremely tough to get Gold. I am good with 3pt at 90. I am about to start boosting Speed and Quickness using Dribble Course. That is a easy drill to boost. So, I will stop using XP from games to boost Quickness. I will use it for Stamina, then Ball Security then Off Awar.

Wowow Here comes the trades from my bucks team.
Trade 1: Bucks trade Earl Boykin to Portland for Earl Barron. --> srsly wtf Earl was our backup point and we trade him for a guy who will get 0 minutes a games. (awesome trade )
Trade 2: Bucks Trade Stephen Jackson (our 2nd team scoring leading and assister) for Lamar Odum and Theo Ratliff. (F this trade theres a 3 beside Lamars stamina bar, but he never takes 3s --> wtf, he doesn't even shoot mid range shots either . Man hes useless. Btw Khloe n Lamar F*** dat shiz!!

30 Games in i realised i want out before we lose all our players. In the Rumour Mill, it looks like Gooden wants out, Redd wants out, Beno Udrih wants out, everyone wants out. I give Gooden some respect becuase when he"s on the floor i usually get 4 -5 assists from him alone.

Requested a trade to Celtics or Magic (1 and 2). But i just hope Boston don;t end up giving up Paul Pierce and Ray Allen for My SF and Jennings or some crap like that. I want some team mates that can score and make shots from my passes and so forth.

Would like to ask, has anyone requested a trade to Boston Celts? What was your player position and what players ended up being traded for your player?
                                Cheers.
