Re: missing code for 91'Warriors and 01'Kings?
It was stated that the retros will be released via code on or around launch, maybe they will release the team codes as well.Comment

Re: missing code for 91'Warriors and 01'Kings?
For those who didn't get the code(s) with our copies....will those 2 teams be available as a DLC (or is there another way to unlock them?)
Ridiculous move on 2K's part. They should have just included those teams in the game instead of this "pre-order bonus" nonsense.Last edited by KingKongBundy; 10-02-2011, 07:57 PM.Comment

Re: missing code for 91'Warriors and 01'Kings?
I am terribly confused as to how to pick up the code for these two teams. I'm not big on ordering things online and even when I gave it a look, there was no in-store pickup option for pre-ordering at Game Stop. There were numerous reports released stating users did not have to pre-order the game to yield the two bonus teams. Rather, they would just need to be sure to acquire the game quickly within the first shipment. However, I can't figure out why some folks who have the game now received the code while others did not, regardless of pre-ordering.
I just wish there was a true explanation as to what exactly is going on. I do not like pre-ordering games (in fact I've never done it) so I'd like to know if it's absolutely necessary or serves as just one of multiple ways of scoring the code. At this point I'm seeing links claiming multiple requirements.
And as the poster said above, if my game doesn't come with a code, will I ever have the ability to download these teams in the future? It feels like a guessing game at this point, and I don't like to do that when it comes to things I spend money on.Last edited by VDusen04; 10-02-2011, 07:54 PM.Comment

I wish I had a answer for you. The best answer that I've found is its comes in the first shipments which still seem odd. If all else fails, EbayThe poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: missing code for 91'Warriors and 01'Kings?
What I'm guessing is that the codes are probably exclusive to all the major retail stores. Those who got the game early and without the codes may have bought the game from someone or somewhere other than retail stores, and those that have the code may have received the game that was supposed to be available for purchase on 10/4 at a retail store. Which would kind of make sense, IDK???
As far as the teams being available for everyone, I'm sure they eventually will be but you will probably have to pay for them as DLC or something. MOST of the games I've played that had bonus DLC that were supposedly store exclusives only, later became available for purchase through DLC or some other method. However, with the exclusive Jordan avatar Jeresy that was supposedly only a Gamestop bonus for preordering NBA 2k11 last year at gamestop, it never became available at the xbox market place. I did manage to find a code for the Jordan avatar jersey about a month ago from an eBay seller(from Hong Kong mind you) and it still worked so now I have the Jordan jersey as my avatar pic.
What makes it more confusing is that people and maybe gamestop itself is promoting the bonus teams as a gamestop exclusive for preordering Nba 2k12. While Amazon is also advertizing the promotion as well. While sites like Best Buy, TrU, Target, and walmart are not even tho on the Nba 2k Facebook page it said we can get the bonus teams if we preorder the game from any of those places. And then there was that Kotaku article that attempted to clarify things a bit. I hope this all gets straightened out soon and that those who want the teams can get them somehow.Last edited by lsalas76; 10-03-2011, 09:46 AM.Comment

Re: missing code for 91'Warriors and 01'Kings?
I got mine early over the weekend and my copy came with the code. Worked fine, tried out Sacramento.
But it's an in game codes, not a regular DLC code. So that means the teams are already on the disc, right?. I'd imagine it should be pretty simple for 2K to issue more codes to unlock the 2 extra teams for those who didn't receive the code.Last edited by NYYanks26; 10-03-2011, 10:05 AM.Comment
