Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I finally got Steve Nash his ring. After trading him to the Lakers mid-season, he got his first championship and he helped Kobe get his 6th to finally tie Jordan.
After the season, I knew the Suns would be in complete rebuild mode. My first priority was to re-sign Andrew Bynum, and luckily he accepted our qualifying offer.
My top scorer from this past season, Shannon Brown, decided that he would like to test free agency, so I let him walk, not even trying to re-sign him. Derek Fisher retired, and Sebastian Telfair also decided he would test free agency. So that left me with no PG's and only Marco Bellinelli as a SG option. I knew the draft and free agency would be vital in filling these positions.
I go into the draft with the 7th pick, and when its the Suns turn to draft I only see one man i'm interested in. SG Austin Rivers(Duke) son of NBA head coach Doc Rivers. I knew that he would be able to start right away in the system we ran in Pheonix.
I then traded Jared Dudley and my 2nd round pick from next years draft to the Blazers for the 13th pick. I took PG Kendall Marshall(North Carolina) Would it be possible that I would have two rookies starting in my backcourt? One from Duke, and one from North Carolina? No, I knew Marshall was not ready to make an immediate impact in the NBA, so I made it a priority to sign a PG in FA.
On to Free Agency and their are bevy of PG's to choose from. I made offers to Derrick Rose, Chris Paul and Russel Westbrook. Only one man accepted my offer, Russel Westbrook. Suns fans rejoiced when they heard the news, but their happiness quickly turned to sorrow as it was announced that OKC matched the offer and he resigned with them. We settled for little known Ishmael Smith, he and Kendall would split playing time at the point.
We then moved on to another position need, Power Forward. Their was only one man I wanted to match up with Bynum in the front court, and that was Kevin Love. I offered him, and only him, and the very next day he accepted. The Suns now had one of the best front courts in the leauge in terms of scoring and rebounding.
Going into the season, our roster looks like this...
PG: Ishmael Smith
SG: Austin Rivers
SF: Josh Childress
PF: Kevin Love
C: Andrew Bynum
6th Man: Kendall Marshall
Marco Bellinelli/Markieff Morris/Robin Lopez/Channing Frye/Mason PlumleeComment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
SO, I started an association with the wizards. I saw that they acquired rashard lewis and i knew he had to come out of there immediately. I made one trade before the season, and it was found on the trade finder.
Pacers Get: 13 first rounder, maurice evans, rashard lewis
Wizards Get: Danny Granger. I thought it seemed realistic
I simmed the season so i could use my other draft pick. i made the playoffs and i am in the first round 3-3 against the celtics.
I will update later. Does anybody have any other suggestion for trades i should make?
My starting Lineup:
PG: Wall
SG: Nick Young
SF: Granger
PF: Andre Blatche
C: Javale Mcgee
Thank you in addvance for your help!Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I simmed the first year with the Cavs so I could draft a rookie and put together a fresh new squad. We finished with the second worst record and after the lottery landed with the # 2 pick. Toronto took Harrison Barnes with the first pick and I chose Jared Sullinger with the 2nd pick, as Tristan Thompson had no presence inside on the offensive end. In the 2nd round I drafted Orlando Johnson, a 6'5'' SG/SF from UCSB (dudes a beast, i played with him in prospect drills). I traded away Varajeo during the first year to clear up some cap space and Jamison and Parker both retired. I released Omri Casspi, as he was unhappy and wanted more playing time which he was not going to get. I had plenty of cap space and immediately went after OJ Mayo, in desperate need of a playmaker/scorer at SG and SF. I signed Mayo to a HUGE 5 year deal. I went on to also sign Javale McGee to start at C and Samuel Dalembert to back him up. Finally, i signed Martell Webster so I had a 3 point threat at Small Forward. My lineup is set and I'm about the play the first game of the 2012-2013 season (58 games). I will continue to update my association on here...
BTW I am using the new Official Sim Roster made by PPierce, tomba, and company. I am also using PaulPierce's V2 updated sliders intended for use with his rosters. 360 baby..
Point Guard - Kyrie Irving / Ramon Sessions / Boobie Gibson
Shooting Guard - OJ Mayo / Orlando Johnson
Small Forward - Martell Webster / Alonzo Gee
Power Forward - Jared Sullinger / Tristan Thompson
Center - JaVale McGee / Samuel Dalembert
I'm stoked to finally start my association, especially with this awesome roster and slider set. Like I said, I will continually update my association on this thread. I hope to get my first game in and updated tonight after my family leaves...Merry Christmass errrybody!Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
It's 2021 in my simmed association and Gordon's spent his entire career there; just led them to the Finals in fact with a roster of pretty average auto-generated dudes and Anthony Davis. Amazingly, he got hurt after Game 1 and missed the rest of the series but the 6-seed Hornets were still able to take the 1-seed Wizards to 7 games before bowing out.
Speaking of the Wizards, they've been the one seed for like five consecutive years now through two regime changes. John Wall left for Detroit in FA and they had a bit of a down spell for a while, but I finally gave up on my Clippers ever competing for a title even with Paul, Marshon Brooks, Granger, Griffin and Jordan and some pretty good role players, so I dumped pretty much everybody and Paul brought the Wizards up to the 1 seed.
This past off season I brought Paul back for one last tour of duty, but what was funny with the Wizards is they brought John Wall back too. Not only that, they brought in Brandon Knight (91 overall, Wall is 95), keeping the duo that one the Pistons a title in 2020 together in a new city. And wouldn't you know it? Those boys brought home the trophy in 2021. Back to back titles in different cities!
Also, LeBron retired at 92 overall and 36 years old as Warrior, with 6 MVPs but only one NBA title and a whopping 17 All-Star appearances. I'll never forget when the Heat offered me LeBron for Paul and Griffin five or six years ago...I wonder what would have happened if I'd said yes..."ITS SO FLUFFY!!!">:DComment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Just finished my first game as the Cavs against the Rockets. We were clicking on all cylinders. Definately the best game of 2k I have played so far. Everyone played good. The final score was 119-94. By far the most points I have scored. Houston's defense was atrocious. I jumped out to a 20 point lead in the 2nd quarter. They cut it to 5 in the 3rd but i quickly got it back to 10 and it was not close for the rest of the game. Kyrie Irving and Jared Sullinger both posted double-doubles (Sullinger's first career game). Mayo was on fire as well. Terrence Williams had 24 points for them, 18 coming in the first half. Kevin Martin, Mo Williams, and M Morris all had poor shooting nights which led to the blowout. Here are some individual/team stats...
We shot 44% to their 40%. We hit 11 3Pt's to their 7. Both had 26 PIP.
OJ Mayo - 36 PTS 5 AST 14/30 FG 3/5 3PT
Jared Sullinger - 20 PTS 11 REB 6/12 FG 2 BLK
Kyrie Irving - 16 PTS 12 AST 7/13 FG 2/5 3PT 2 STL
Ramon Sessions - 14 PTS 3 AST 6/12 FG
Martel Webster - 12 PTS 4/9 FG 3/7 3PT
Orlando Johnson - 9 PTS 7 REB
JaVale McGee - 4 PTS 8 REB 2 BLK
Alonzo Gee - 10 REB
Tristan Thompson - 7 REB
Off to Boston to face the defending champion Celtics...Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Started my association with my cavs.
I hate to watch them lose lol so I want to try to get them back to the playoffs without trying to change there rosters to much. Trying to do this realisticly.
First thing I did was send luke harangody and hollins to the d-league.
Next I went out and signed kirilenko to be my defensive force to stop guys like pierce and lebron.
Now I still needed a good scoring option and that's where my last move came in. Gilbert Arenas. I have him starting at SG and after 2 games we are 2-0
Top players stats
Arenas: 30ppg 5.5rpg 4.5apg
Irving: 25ppg 4.5rpg 10.5apg 1.5spg
Kirilenko: 17ppg 3.5rpg 2.5apg 3.5spg
Kirilenko is doing his job by getting steals and playing great defence. Arenas is a scoring machine and Irving is passing the ball great and setting up the offence. Irving has the best jumpshot of any player I have used on this game. This is the way I invisioned this team when I signed these players. Now I don't expect to win a division or anything but I think 41-41 is a realistic possibility.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I didnt want to make my own thread for this question. Can we do an online association with only 2 users and the rest of the teams controlled by the CPU? I know in last years version 4 was the minimum. I'm looking to start an association with a friend, and do not own the game yet.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I finally started my 30 team Association with my Celtics.
I'm using the Simulation rosters with Tomba's sliders.
Actually let me back up a little bit, before I started I edited all retired players (Roy, Peja, etc.) and players playing overseas (JR Smith, Chandler, etc.) down. I will edit the players playing overseas back up before the start of season 2. Also, I edited players that are out for the season (Green, Oden, etc) down, as well. After that I made some trades (outside of Association) so that I give teams their draft picks that their owed in real life (Hornets own Minnesota's 1st rd pick, Boston owning the Clippers, the Lakers owning the Mavs, etc.)
Then I started Association, made the proper trades (for draft picks) and set up all rotations.
My lineup:
PG: Rondo, Bradley
SG: Allen, Dooling
SF: Pierce, Pietrus, Daniels
PF: Garnett, Bass, Johnson
C: O'neal, Wilcox
I'm 2-0 so far with two close wins over the Cavs & Hawks. Barring injury, I don't anticipate making any moves for the first few months of the season. We'll see how everything goes.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague
Alabama Crimson Tide
Green Bay Packers
Boston Celtics
New Orleans Pelicans

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I'm doing a bulls dyansty. Love love love the bulls, their coaches, their defense. I definitely have great ambitions to build them into a complete juggernaut.
I really want to trade Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah because I think their overpaid personally, but I just don't have the heart to do it for some reason. I'm pretty big on keeping things realistic. In the offseason I'm gonna try and draft Jeremy Lamb or Andre Drummond. I think they'll be good fitsComment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I'd really like to rebuild my Pistons back to where they were in years past.. does anyone have any tips? I didn't feel like looking through 23 pages to see if anyone else is doing the same thing as I am so bear with me.
I am unwilling to trade Brandon Knight but other than that anyone and everyone can go if I find the right deal.
One last note: I am not a huge follower of basketball so please at least let me know who people play for XD. Because I doubt even the whole Pistons roster isn't worth Dwight Howard.NFL: Lions
NHL: Red Wings
MLB: Tigers
NBA: wut?
Suh is the man!Comment
