Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Seems any team I pick to start association with I end up with the same team

    Irving
    Harden
    DeRozan
    Ibaka
    McGee

Bah! Trade logic needs to be much tougher.

I have been able to drop off absolute ****ty contracts like Diop to teams with cap space like I'm doing them a favour!

Iam using the Blazers wow i tore up there roster lol..

      Line up
      Devin Harris
      Wes Matthews
Kenneth Faried (for now till Batum comes back)
      Aldridge
      Okur

      Bench
      Thabeet
      Crawford
      Felton
Batum( not sure if ill keep him on the bench and leave Faried at SF,

Im doing something different im not actually playing the whole game.. im playing the first half, simming the 2nd half, it can be tricky alil cause the sim does the 2nd half based off the minutes u have set for players..

so if i have Aldridge at like 37 and he plays about 20 in the first half, he will then play 16-18 give or take in the 2nd half... and sometimes if u d forget about bench players, say someone is set for 13 minutes and they only have like 4 in the first half they will play almost 10 minutes during the sim.. So u gotta kinda watch those things, the team stats in the first half of play and the 2nd half of sim are about the same, give or take,

i just wanted to see how the game would end, with playing and simming in one game.. this is kinda why i wish u could go from playing to hoopscast back to playing, In the same game, right now im 8-6, 6th in the west, 3 games back of the Thunder in the Northwest division...

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

I haven't done an association in a 2k bball game in years. Tonight (providing my infant son cooperates) I'm going to start a Cavs one. I want to sim through the 2011-2012 season (using trade deadline rosters) and then take over rebuilding the Cavs for this upcoming offseason. Can I prevent the CPU from making trades during the season so that the all of the teams' rosters at the end of simulated season are what they are going to be at the end of the real season? Or do I need to control all 30 teams? Thanks.

Hey anyone having this problem....I'm in an Online association and we are going into year 3 and all of the sudden a bunch of contracts for top players changed to get paid $0 for 1yr. Anybody else having this issue. How to solve it. It's just now a joke with now pretty much having a 40-50 million dollar salary cap with already having stud players like Durant, Westbrook and now being able to sign Howard and Blake Griffin. Thanks

Yes you can. When you are setting up your association before you pick your team there will be a screen where you can choose how many games the season will be, fantasy draft etc. There will be an option on that menu that says allow Cpu trades or something like that. Just turn that off and you will be good.

Started a Cavs association but i dont know weather to sim through the first season and rebuild through the off-season through the draft and some trades but my current roster is:

                PG: Kyrie Irving/ Daniel Gibson
                SG: Shannon Brown/ Jason Kapono
SF: Kevin Martin/ Omri Casspi/ Josh Childress
                PF: Tristan Thompson
                C: Samuel Dalembert/ Semih Erden

Not a strong roster but good depth for what its worth what do you guys think? Also do you think its better playing an 82 game season or just 29?

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

I decided to go ahead and sim two straight seasons as the Celtics, and then to play the third season, just to see how jacked up the NBA is. The first year I ended up in the playoffs, 2nd seed - and was eliminated in the first round. The following year I ended up in the playoffs, 8th seed (I lost KG to free agency the first year) and was eliminated in the first round again. Currently, in the beginning of the 2014 season, this is how my team stacks up:

                  1. Rajon Rondo, Dion Waiters
                  2. Chase Bailey, Xavier Henry, Cameron Cardinal, Lewis Mayo, Simon Schayes
                  3. Paul Pierce, Timmy Collins
                  4. Anthony Davis, Jajuan Johnson, Paul Blackwell, Michael Doyle
                  5. Anderson Varejao, Geoffrey Thomas

I don't know who over 90% of those people are.. so I definitely think I'm going to scrap this association, and actually play a real one. But, just for ****s and giggles, here's how the rest of the NBA is looking as far as strange rosters. These are key individuals who have made their way onto strange teams.

                  76ers: Chris Paul, Josh Smith
                  Bobcats: David West, JR Smith
Cavs: Paul George, Landry Fields, Luis Scola, Chris Kaman
                  Hawks: DJ Augustin, Gordon Hayward
                  Hornets: KG, Ben Gordon
                  Jazz: Raymond Felton
                  Raptors: Jeff Teague, Ramon Sessions
                  Suns: Jason Terry, Hedo Turkoglu
Trail Blazers: Andre Iguodala, Jeremy Lin, Elton Brand, Spencer Hawes

So yeah. Seeing as I'm not sure who half of my roster is, and the NBA is currently completely flipped on its ***. I think I'll go ahead and play it safe, and play a full season.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

I am in season two still in my current Miami Heat association and I am kind of not liking the way my team is flowing when Spencer Hawes is on the floor. I am considering shelving him, at least temporarily, and trying to go full-out with my small-ball idea. In case anyone didn't read my posts earlier in this thread, this is my current team thanks to free-agency and one trade for Gordon Hayward.

PG: Mario Chalmers / Norris Cole

SG: Dwyane Wade / Mike Miller / Malcolm Lee (D-League)

SF: LeBron James / Shane Battier / Gordon Hayward / Metta World Peace / James Jones

PF: Chris Bosh / Udonis Haslem / Troy Murphy

C: Spencer Hawes / Joel Anthony

Anyways, since Dwyane Wade, Mike Miller and Gordon Hayward are above-average to great rebounders at the wing positions, I figure I wouldn't be losing much if I play small-ball and try to take Spencer Hawes out of the main playing rotation, especially since he is averaging less than 5 rebounds per game and shooting under 50%. I'm thinking of running this starting lineup:

                      PG: Mario Chalmers
                      SG: Dwyane Wade
                      SF: Gordon Hayward
                      PF: LeBron James
                      C: Chris Bosh

I think the team would flow much better on the offensive end of the floor and would still fair well on the boards thanks to Wade, Hayward, James, and Bosh. I would have Udonis Haslem, Norris Cole, Mike Miller, and Shane Battier coming off of the bench, with Spencer Hawes, Joel Anthony, and Troy Murphy playing garbage-time minutes, at least for now.

I'm interested in how this new dynamic would work with LeBron at the 4 spot in the line-up more often, as I think it would give him a lot more post opportunities and more opportunities to beat his man off of the dribble. Also, on the defensive end of the floor, it could create versatility that I did not have before making this change as I can mix up the match-ups as LeBron can guard any position on the floor, while Wade and Hayward can guard most 2's and 3's, and Bosh can guard most 4's and 5's.

I of course would not trot out this line-up against a team like the Lakers, Bulls, Magic or Thunder, but against just about every other team in the league that does not have an elite big man or two, I don't see the problem with downsizing.

Any thoughts and/or opinions about this change and how it affects me as a team? Any input at all is perfectly welcome, even if it's to critique and condemn me!

In my My Player, I'm an Athletic PG, and I was traded from the Bucks to the Heat. The trade was: Me & Stephen Jackson for Mario Chalmers & Chris Bosh. Our starting line-up went like this: Me, D. Wade, Stephen Jackson, LeBron James, Udonis Haslem. That is.. until Haslem went out with an injury. Then my starting line-up ended up being this: Me, D. Wade, Shane Battier, Stephen Jackson, LeBron James. Yes.. LeBron at the 5. So I thought.. ah, we're screwed. We ended up playing amazing. The team chemistry was top-notch, and the game flowed perfectly. Although sure, LeBron would get out-rebounded, he had the strength to not allow centers to do deadly post moves to him. Plus, Wade and Jackson collected a ton of boards for my team. I think even though it probably wouldn't be done in real life, that line-up will work very well. :b

I'm gonna start a fantasy draft association with the Nuggets. I did a few test runs and this is what my team is going to look like (some rounds I haven't decided on so it might be jumps from like the 5th to the 9th):

                          PG Kemba Walker
                          SG J.R. Smith
SF Kawhi Leonard or Martell Webster
                          PF Lamarcus Aldridge
C DeAndre Jordan or Javale McGee
                          SG MarShon Brooks
                          PG Andrew Goudelock
                          SF Chandler Parsons

I'm mainly just picking players whom I like. Should I get Ramon Sessions and have three point guards or just have Goudelock as my backup? His rating is really low in the game and in my Lakers association he misses all his threes when he's open even though he's a three point specialist.

What I can do is get Luol Deng in the 2nd round instead of Kemba Walker because there are a lot of good point guards, any advice? I'd love to have Roy Hibbert but he also goes in the 2nd.

Wow, that's definitely some small-ball being played there. Yeah, I figure it would work out better with LeBron at the 4, he'll be able to set screens and be an even bigger threat all over the floor because he'll be much faster than his match-up in almost every game. Thanks for the response and I feel a little more confident now in running this line-up, as I was second-guessing myself before. Thanks again!

In my Grizzlies association, we just absolutely blew out the Wizards. Most likely because Wall fouled out early in the 4th. Every game I've ever played against the Wizards, Wall has fouled out. Most likely due to the fact that I love to drive to the hoop in transition, and he's always the first guy to be back to the paint, and I'll get the blocking foul and sent to the line. Conley was owning Wall in all aspects of this game except for scoring. I typically don't put up many shots with my PG.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread

Started a new Association with the Twolves.

1st. Trade at the start of the Season

Bulls get Darko Millicic / Antony Randolph
TWolves get Kyle Korver, Omar Asik

I think good trade for both sides, Bulls get a younger PF for the future years and the Twolves a not so bad defense C for their bench

2nd. Trade at the start of the Season

Cavs get Brad Miller / Anthony Tolliver / 2nd Round Pick 2012 from TWolves
TWolves get Omri Caspi / 2nd Round Pick 2013 from Cavs

First i thought i was the big winner of this trade because the TWolves became a good 3pt Shooter of the bench, but after half of the Season Miller is Starter ( Varajo is Injured ) and he averes 7,1 ppG and 7 rebounds

                                3rd Trade after 3 Games

Raptors get Martel Webster / 1st Rnd Pick 2013 from TWolves
Twolves get Rasual Butler / 1st Rnd Pick 2013 from Raptors

Webster wasnt performing well and was unhappy with his role and playing time. I try'ed to look for a team where he could be a starter and i found the Raptors . For the Picks, i traded them because i was hoping that the Twolves would perform better this Season. Rasual Butler is a good 3pt shooter who will be also coming of the bench

4th trade after 4 Games offered from the Pacers

Pacers get Wesley Johnson / J.J. Barea / 1st Rnd pick 2012 from Twolves
                                Twolves get Paul George
Both PG Injured and Hill was out for the Season, so the Pacers asked for this trade. George was performing way behind of Barbosa and Jones but i know that he had potential so i confirmed the trade.

After 4 Games here is my Linup

                                PG Rubio / Ridnour
SG George / Ellington / Korver
SF Beasley / Casspi / Butler
                                PF Love / Williams
                                C Pekovic / Asik

We are now at the 10 Game in the Season and the team is doing great, 9 wins so far. Only problem is Love he struggles with rebounds and points. Maybe i'm not playing with him in the right way because i struggle with his post shot so far.

Stats after 9 Games for the Starters
                                Rubio 11.1 PpG / 6.6 APG / 1.6 Steals
                                George 16.4 PPG / 5.3 RPG / 3.0 APG
                                Beasley 17.4 PPG / 5,7 RPG / 3.9 APG / 1.8 Steals
                                Love 14.2 PPG / 7.8 RPG
                                Pekovic 12.3 PPG / 7.2 RPG

9 wins so far ( but 8 close wins with only 2-4 points difference)
Problem so far is Love but i hope that these will change.

But now 1 day Before my next Game The Wizards offerd me the Following Trade

Wizard get Beasley / Rubio / 2nd Rnd Pick 2013 from TWolves
                                Twolves get Wall / Veselly

Now i dont know if i should make the trade because i think the Wizards would never give up on Wall.
The only thing is, Wall would fit perfectly in my fast pace offense.

Maybe someone cann give me an advice and pls look at the other Trades.
