Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Sorry if this has been asked before, is there any way to bypass the 'league starts in' time constraint? I just started a private online association with one other player and we would like to begin now.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Tinkered around with all sorts of trades, and right now, I've got an unstoppable Trail Blazers roster.
1. Raymond Felton, Jonny Flynn (I'm playing just about as good with both of these guys, I'm starting Felton because I've had more experience playing with him.)
2. James Harden, Wesley Matthews, Elliot Williams
3. Maurice Evans, Shawne Williams
4. Lamarcus Aldridge, Gustavo Ayon, Nick Collison, Craig Smith
5. Nene, Kurth Thomas, Joel Przybilla
2012 Draft Picks: One 1st Round (NO Hornets), One 2nd Round (Portland)
2013 Draft Picks: 3 1st Round (One from NO Hornets, One from OKC, and one Portland.)
The NO draft picks will be good, the OKC 1st round doesn't really give me anything as they'll be a solid playoff team. I'm thinking about trading some of my PF's, as my entire team is centered around Aldridge, I don't need as many PFs. But this roster seems to be unstoppable. Does anybody have any suggestions as to who I should try to trade for to better it?NBA - CHICAGO BULLS

Maybe if it was only one 1st round pick, but think 2 is too much.Comment

Use Those as a base, on superstar or all-star depending on how good you are.
adjust them as you play.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Started an Association with the New Jersey - soon to become Brooklyn Nets.
Made some trades, got George, Hibbert, Hill from Indiana and some more. I won my first game vs Blazers 109-87. Paul George scored 32, something G-Wallace wouldnt've done :P I'm playing with albys deadline roster and sliders on all-star difficulty but ima up it to Superstar. Here's a screenshot of my squad.

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Started an offline fantasy season with my roommate(I used the Bulls). I drafted Derrick Rose, Eric Gordon, Nic Batum, Serge Ibaka and a bunch of rookies. At the end of the season I ended up as the 6 seed and lost in the NBA finals, but because I had a bunch of young talent on rookie contracts I had a ton of cap space. Ended up signing Chris Paul and trading Batum, Ibaka and a first for Paul George.
2nd season:
PG-Chris Paul/Jimmer Fredette
SG-Derrick Rose/Anthony Morrow
SF-Eric Gordon/Jimmy Butler/Chris Singleton
PF-Iman Shumpert/Ryan Anderson
C-Paul George/Kenneth Faried
Gordon, Shumpert, Rose and George all play multiple positions in my rotation.
My team ended up going 71-11(I played 4 games), with Thibs winning the COTY and Rose winning MVP. Paul and Rose were first team All-NBA and Paul was first team D.
Long story short, a 5-guard line up works tremendously in this game.Last edited by tendychicken3; 03-20-2012, 03:45 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Just finished New Jersey Nets second game of the season, we won vs the Wizards at home 98:95, John Wall missed the game-tying 3. Here's the box score and some pictures.
Lol! These things shouldn't happen 2K, NENE catched and dunked.
Paul George has crazy potential !
Marshon Brooks, imitating Kobe :P
We are now 2-0 on the season, I'm really enjoying this team.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
I am now in season 2 of my Miami Heat offline association. I played all 82 games of the regular season plus all of the playoff games and ended up sweeping the Portland Trailblazers out of the 2012 NBA Finals, though two of the games were very close, with the first game of the series going down to the final few possessions but I ended up closing it out.
Anyways, I'm now in season two and have made a few changes. In the off-season I signed Spencer Hawes to a 5-year deal for the full mid-level exception starting at $5.76 million. I was a few games in and was disappointed with how much the pace of my offense slowed, and realized it was because I was playing Spencer Hawes more and my wing players less. I wanted an upgrade at a wing position with Mike Miller and Shane Batter aging, so I decided to make trades. I traded Tyler Zeller (#22 pick) and Darius Morris (free-agent acquisition) each for late first-round picks and then ended up making this trade:
Miami Heat trade:
2013 1st-round pick (via the Warriors) to the Utah Jazz
2013 1st-round pick (via the Clippers) to the Utah Jazz
Devin Ebanks (signed out of the D-League, rated a 66 overall) to the Utah Jazz
Chandler Parsons (signed out of the D-League, rated a 65 overall) to the Utah Jazz
Myck Kabongo (#28 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, rated a 63 overall a C in potential) to the Utah Jazz
Dexter Pittman (Rated a 64 overall) to the New Jersey Nets
Utah Jazz trade:
Gordon Hayward to the Miami Heat
New Jersey Nets trade:
2013 second-round pick to the Miami Heat
I then signed 3 free-agents, each for the minimum contract, in Troy Murphy, Metta World Peace, and Malcolm Lee. I am very likely to release Malcolm Lee or trade him for a big-man though. My roster now looks like this:
PG: Mario Chalmers / Norris Cole
SG: Dwyane Wade / Mike Miller / Malcolm Lee (now in the D-League)
SF: LeBron James / Shane Battier / Gordon Hayward / Metta World Peace / James Jones
PF: Chris Bosh / Udonis Haslem / Troy Murphy
C: Spencer Hawes / Joel Anthony
So, any opinions on my roster outlook? Any input, feedback, or even some criticism is welcomed.
Thanks!Last edited by Freak123; 03-21-2012, 05:35 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K12: The Official Association/Online Association Thread
Getting back into the game, and I started an Association with my Houston Rockets (using the Community Rosters with some small edits).
I decided to start Courtney Lee at SG and bring Kevin Martin in off the bench. Honestly, I think that's the way it should be in real life. Lee is an excellent shooter and a hell of a defender.
So my lineup basically looks like this:
PG - Lowry - Dragic - Fortson
SG - Lee - Martin (spot minutes for Dragic here as well)
SF - Parsons - Budinger (I used Martin at the 3 a lot as well)
PF - Scola - Patterson - Morris
C - Dalembert - Camby
I sent Greg Smith to the D-League (the Rockets did the same IRL today), and I picked up Donatas Motiejunas off FA and sent him to the D-League since the Rockets own his rights IRL.
We'll see what happens with this team.Comment
