I am loosing games against the computer on pro..will never learn and remember all the moves so wont be as good as many..but I fully support this thread. Love the way the game is. Don't change the gameplay

This game is beating me down like an abusive husband....but it is a REAL basketball game. Years of playing without really being aware of my surroundings has been a little hard to undo, but the realism is greatly appreaciated.

The amount of shots the computer hits can be maddening though, lol

My pride is gonna take a hit, but I'm dropping the game down to Pro.....and work my way back up.

I am actually going to agree with a Knicks fan here, the gameplay is tough and I love it. I also dropped it down to Pro. Just have to learn the way I did with 2K11

The game is not perfect and there are changes that should be made, it has nothing to do with being a crybaby. It's more like being rational enough to point out a good games flaws(all it will do is help make the game better). Instead of, you know, acting like a blind fanboy and defending everything about the game.
what are you talking about? read the thread from the beginning first

he made the thread in defence of the game mechanics and against people complaining after 2-3 days of having the game

the idea is simple - LEARN THE GAME and do not expect the game to do things for you !

Re: Please DON'T turn down gameplay intensity this year

The intensity is fine. The implementation sometimes is a little off.

I love having to work on defense. Playing against star players is beautiful. They have their abilities, tendencies, and play styles down really well. They play eerily like their real life counterparts.

Where the game breaks down for me is the things that go on in the cpu's attempt to ensure close, intense games. Mainly the precision of the cpu's offense where they pass perfectly out of double teams, shoot perfectly as the shot clock goes down to zero. And more so the cpu's role players and back ups playing flawless basketball above and beyond their tendencies and ratings.

I find it strange that Tony Allen all of the sudden can't stay with Carlos Delfino when he's supposed to be playing him tight, leaving him open by 10 feet.

I find it odd that for no apparent reason my guard will come off of his man to double Drew Gooden when I have him locked up. They do it to give the cpu wide open shots. Shots that they hit at an alarmingly high percentage.

Jodie Meeks has a post game? Really? Pump fakes, reverse pivot, step through, really? Really? It seems as if every move is at everyone's disposal. If I cut Meeks off on a baseline drive he should force a bad fadeaway, look for a cutter, or reverse the ball. Not post up and go through that myriad of moves I described.

Spencer Hawes escape dribble step back while tightly guarded as the shot clock expires? Really?

It seems the cpu goes to whatever counter it has at its disposal regardless of who has the ball. So, it says okay the baseline is cut off, post, pump, reverse pivot, step through. That's fine and dandy for Wade or Kobe. Not Jodie Meeks. The cpu says okay I'm being smothered as the clock is winding down, escape dribble, step back, fadeaway. Again, all fine and dandy but, not if you're Spencer Hawes. These plays should at the very least result in misses, if not, travels, loose balls, something.

Intensity is fine. Random blown defensive assignments. Random, unnecessary double teams, and players exhibiting skills and abilities they rarely if ever display in real life isn't intense. It's false. And it takes away from what is probably the best video game representation of a sport I've ever played. Don't turn down the intensity. Just fine tune some things. Greatly reduce the likelihood of bad shots going in. Limit some players abilities and we're good.

They often try to say things like "this is how real basketball is played". Because obviously NBA players will always just randomly leave their man wide open for no reason at all. And NBA players obviously have to throw slow overhead passes a lot even when they're right by each other.
We are talking about the intensity and we are not saying that 2k shouldn't fix most of the problems. But the thing is not everything that people say is a problem is really a problem.

"Eyes at the back of the head"
So your saying that the defense should not have two eyes at the back of their heads? I agree but lets call it both ways and I think that the offense should not have that either. so you can only pass to a guy looking at you so do you honestly want that?

Love the thread 23. Quick question to all those who are having problems with the AI "physic defense", "dumb teammate AI", etc. Are you guess adjusting sliders? Also, 2K rosters right out the box are often lack luster. I would suggest, either waiting for a roster to be posted here on OS, or adjusting the tendencies and ratings yourself. Sliders are your friend to the end. I lowered the CPU "Hands" and "Play passing lanes" sliders, solved the physic AI ball deflect. The CPU AI still get steals but nothing extreme. 2K does and excellent job of building core gameplay, but it's up to the user weather they are SIm or Casual or whatever, but you can get SIM results and gameplay. We are all big boys here, and we know in life, things aren't going to just be given to us, we have to work a little bit to get what we want.

another thing i remember about the first patch at least they made the game slightly "harder" which was a good thing.

Before the patch i could drive with Shannon Brown almost at will every play on HOF and dunk...The patch took that away

that's the thing you shouldn't have to use sliders. This is a sim game and the default should be sim. The sim sliders are more like arcade though.

I agree with the TC, but I also agree with Ghostface. The gameplay should be challenging, but at the same time, there are very real issues with the game that do make it somewhat unfair.

I appreciate and love the variety of plays we see, but also, I hate the unforgivable mental lapses of the AI teammates.

You know, I was with you up until this post. This has to be the most immature response possible. People gave you legitimate gripes...why insult them? I understand that you are frustrated with the impatience of some...but the people in this thread are giving personal experiences that don't boil down to their skill in the game.
