patch needs to work online since they took out all of the customization options for player matches. Played with celtics last night in HOF SIM game and went crazy with pierce , allen, and west. hit 7 straight 3pointers even with opponent playing on ball D. the balance is gone and server side sliders need adjusting ASAP. Also bring back the 2k11 player ratings until season starts. The ones available dont represent the real players.TWOLVES are best 3pt shooting team in the game now !!!
Can you give up with offline need nothing crap, it is not about sliders player rating are off everyone is a sharp shooter, guys who are more likely to pass the ball are now jacking up 3's with the slightest bit of space, big men with little dribble ability are trying to take it to the hole, tendencies and ratings are off.

      Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?

I guess its a little bit high for contested shots and of the dribble shots. Some players can do that but not someone like korver. Althought he is a deadly three point shooter he is more of a set shot shooter than a pull up shooter.

Versus the CPU is a little bit too high too but I think it has to do with clutch or something. Clutch should only be applicable to endgame or end quarter not every last second shot clock. The cpu is being bailed out by buzzer beaters from three and all the other shots (mid range, contact layups).

My player is just ridiculous for the opposing cpu and most of the comebacks come from buzzer beater three after playing good D which is not really fair at all.

Its not about the sliders bro, the CPU bail out needs to be tweaked and some ratings are not really justifiable (but I guess a roster update would be the solution for that.).

          Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?

I haven't read anyone else's post in this thread, so I'm offering up my thoughts without being influenced by anyone, Mike.

Since you asked, my answer is that NO, 3-pt. does not need tuning. I remember last year people were upset with the Simulation sliders that had 3-pt. set @ 45; most people bumped that up to 48-50 for the User and 48-52 for the CPU.

I think what is throwing things out of whack in some instances is that the Clutch slider is too high on the default setting; thus when the CPU is under diress or up against the shot clock, their "clutch" attribute kicks in, and the shot goes through the hoop. I lowered that slider down to 10 and I've noticed a nice difference in terms of CPU shooting. They hit open shots (as they should), but the contested, shot clock running out desperation heaves don't go in nearly as often as before.

So, my personal opinion (and I know nothing about game coding or anything like that) is to look at the Clutch slider/attribute first. I think that may answer the 3-pt. issue.

Obviously in the meantime, we can just lower that slider a few clicks and it should produce the results people are looking for.

offline, we can adjust it ourselves through the sliders....Online should be lowered to 47-48 though...

yes absolutely need to fix the 3pts percentage while playing online! very unrealistic. and the defense is horrible. the players are like sliding on the court all the time it looks like they are wearing skates on their shoes. need to be patch!

A valid complain but I don't think that would help this thread in any way.

well it will help hi, see it, and the games I can actually play the 3s are crazy, its a 3 point contest rather than a game 18 of 21 at half is unreal

Mid range and 3pt shooting should be toned down just a notch or two. Very few people are using post moves in part because you can just pass and shoot so easily.

I'm also disappointed stamina is a non-factor online again. You can easily go a whole game without substituting. I don't know what happened. 2k used to be so good about making sure substitution was a part of strategy. We've lost that online the past two years.

                        Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?

Just play a game where the other play feasted from 3PT range. Literally dribbled down the court and just shot 3's, with a hand (RS) in their face.

Either up the "vicinity" of a contest when using the RS or Y, or change the 3PT success ever so slightly. Something should be done, however.

What I think is people need to realize that there's gonna be a learning the game / adjustment period / growing pains period. Until that period is over, I have a hard time takign a lot of the gameplay feedback seriously. People are still learning the game so it's too early (the game's only been out a week!) to make conclusive assessments on the gameplay --- until they have gotten used to it FULLY. Unless it's overly glaring, obvious, unanimous issues , then I'd say it's premature to alter the game. Past patches like 2K8 have been the victims of bad complaints taken too seriously too early on.

This needs to be done universally. Rarely do I see the impact of a "contest" and I'm sure that the radius isn't taking effect on most 3PT shots since there is so much space between shooters and defenders in most cases.

Please make this change online if what you say is true, I can live with the open looks, it is the contested looks dropping like nobodies business that has me pulling my hair out.

I think everyone is in agreement that 3 point shots need to be adjusted all around. These are the categories I came up with that need to be address, the overall success is not the problem so no need to adjust the 3 point sliders, contested shots (which include hands raised and block attempts), shots off the dribble, shot tendencies and ratings of your traditional none 3 point shooters need to be fixed for online and off. Players like Eddie house should not bring the ball up the court and immediate jack up a three if Lebron and or Wade are on the court their should be some kind of hierarchy where role players don't being to play beyond their abilities or role on a team, you should be able to sag off a Rondo or Wall just enough to dare his to take a shot and still be able to contest causing him to miss on most occasions, players who are spot up shooter success should decrease dramatically if they attempt to shot off the dribble, you lose a major element of the game of basketball it doubling or help defense causes a major flaw in the game to be abused.
