but look at the first few pages and its the offline only guys saying its perfect when a patch to 3pt % doesnt even apply to them. I am just being real bro because offline i can drop CPU slider to 40 to make it realistic. Online modes we are stuck at default 50 where 3pointers feel like freethrows

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
I play offline exclusively and I believe Thugnificant was incorrect to say "ignore offline gamers". To put it more tactfully then btwon - without the ability to adjust sliders in my player/ CAL - the 3 Point % affects offline players as well.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
Online is horrific man it seems like everyone has Jimmer range,we can't change jersey, and games don't get reset after the network error connection comes up.Also online has a lot of player delays when trying to defend, half spin delays, passing delays a lot please patch this.
On the plus side though you can find matches a bit quicker then NBA 2k11Last edited by skillz7854; 10-11-2011, 04:34 PM.Comment

2. Wouldn't a roster update with more realistic 3PT ratings address the online problem?
I understand guys like J.J. Redick and Ray Allen will still be deadly from deep, but the 3PT ratings given to mediocre deep shooters on the default rosters are way too high. The same problem exists with big men shooting mid-range jumpers from 20 feet because they have shooting ratings in the 70's/80's. People complained about Kobe's mid-range rating, but if 2K applied that same microscope to the rest of the NBA then the game would play much better.
I think a ratings update to go with a patch that brought the default 3PT Success slider from 50 to 49 would be the best of both worlds for Online and Offline modes.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
Offline user only.. I have no problem with the threes percentage. When CPU is open thet hit and when I am in their face they usually miss. Same thing for me. Although, admittedly, it does seem that too many people have the 3 by their name.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
Sliders could be a quick fix, but when you see player's like Sasha Vujacic making fadeaway three pointers, that is a problem.
Solution for this 3PT Problem:
- Sliders, bring them down to 45 like NBA 2K11
- Patch, Abilities and Proficiency. If a player has an Average Fadeaway, he shouldn't be making successful faders. I can make successful faders from mid range with Brook Lopez and he only has a 71 rating in that category.
It is that simple, Beluba. Give this method a try... lower 3PT to 45, and just tune the Abilities.Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
Its not the ratings. There are plenty of guys that can shoot the three so they deserve the proper ratings. If all you did was change the ratings you would still have people spaming threes with the elite taking twice the amount of threes the player has ever taken in a real game in half the minutes.PSN=Coolcas7Comment

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
please Beluba, the 3 pt default settings have got to be tweaked. I can not believe that there are some in here that would protest such a change. play any mode against the AI and they shoot around %70-80 in threes in game action. Simming can bring the numbers down to a reasonable level, but when the user is on the court the gameplay is ruined due to this unbalanced issue.
In my My Player mode, I can not play at any difficulty above Pro since the AI will then shoot %80-90 from 3. on Pro Sim, I have Jared Jack double teamed, and he faded away into the bench draining 3's on me. It really ruins the experience since we do not have ANY sliders in My Player Mode to correct this. I looked at the top shooting leaders, they are all from %.750 -%.650 (with a ton of attempts). My entire AI celtics team cannot miss, including RONDO! ray can make them from 40 ft like a layup.
The only other mode I play is Team Up. This has the same issue when playing the AI. it just stops the realism that you guys put all the work into trying to create. really spoils the immersion.
So this one fix in a patch could save the two modes I love the most...so please I beg of you, tone down the 3 pt shooting. Association modes need not worry, as they have sliders they can adjust. I am jealous, as I would pay another $60 to get sliders back into Team Up mode and My Player mode!!! then we wouldn't have to rely on patches..

Re: Does 3PT% need tuning?
Offline-allstar/simulation(mid and 3pt slider at 47)12 min quaters, real player FG%. loving the game like this.
Cant comment in reguards to online or myplayer. For online play is the real FG% used or is it the shot stick timing? Could this be part of the issue also?Comment
