      Re: Official 2k13 Wishlist Thread

I'd really like to see the point guard experience a smoother transition when receiving an outlet pass after an opposing team's missed field goal or turnover. As it stands right now, if Joakim Noah grabs a rebound and passes to Richard Hamilton (shooting guard), it'll be a smooth transition as Hamilton's already on his way up floor. This will likely allow a smooth fast break attempt to develop and continue.

On the flip side, if Noah were to pass that ball to Derrick Rose in 2K12 (and previous 2K's), the fast break is nearly squandered before it even has a chance to begin. This is because, as a point guard in 2K, Rose's logic is to return to the ball and catch the outlet from a near stand still. As such, nearly every outlet pass to a point guard in 2K feels at least slightly counterproductive. Instead of a player catching while heading up court, they almost always must catch the ball in the wrong direction, stop, turn, then head up court. In many instances, it almost seems like the better option to outlet to a shooting guard than it does one's playmaker if a fast break is desired.

I'd suggest implementing logic that'd allow the point guard to recognize when they could ever-so-slightly leak downcourt (just enough to allow a solid outlet without necessitating a risky pass). I'd also recommend implementing logic that allows point guards to step toward the outlet (as they are often taught in real life) but to do so on the run, thus cutting down on the loss of momentum experienced in 2K12. More often, I feel situations should go, 1. Missed shot, 2. Big man rebound, 3. Outlet 4. Point guard's gone.

I would like for them to add the following

        - trade exceptions
        - sign and trades
        - better AI (stop having people stand around on inbound passes and coaches calling timeouts at the wrong time
        - when a star player is traded or signs to a different team as free agent, in the preview don't have them say his former team.

Gameface I want the ability to import my picture into Myplayer like EA has for Tigger Woods and FIFA. Also there should be something around 50 Gameface slots so we can create who ever we want and put them on teams or create teams with them. We should also be able to use these Gameface players in all modes.

Jerseys We need more! If they have ever been worn we need them. I really really want some from the 90's, see this thread http://www.operationsports.com/forum...k-jerseys.html
I would also like there to be alternate jersey's for the All Star game. I would really love to have the wacky ones from the mid 90's and the ability for the players to wear their team specific jersey like they did in 97. This would add a lot of variety for a MyPlayer career or Association.

Classic Teams I want more! Don't care how many more just more. I would also like to have back all of those Jordan teams from 2K11.

Create a team/Teambulider I site or feature similar to EA's teambulider but with more option. The ability to use text or logo on the jersey. The ability to import our own logo's. The ability to put the numbers on the jersy where we want and resize them.

Court creator Similar to teambulider idea. The ability to create a court or arena. i would settle for just being able to create a court with the ability to import logo's.

Shoes More shoe options and better graphics on the shoes. Stop doing the mirror effect on the shoes it looks bad. Play NBA Live 10 and see how they did the shoes. Need more brands like Under Armour, Peak, And1, Spalding and anything players actually wear. more retro styles from Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Ewing Athletics, Fila, etc.

All Star weekend The ability for the Rookie/Sophmore players to have their team specific jersey's. I hate the generic jersey's. If EA can do it 2K can.

CPU rotations should be based on more than just overall and secondary positions. Let production matter. The CPU has no idea of what a good bench is. No guy ever plays over 18 minutes off the bench. They also seem to think they you have to use a 12 man rotation.

In association mode, when a season begins and the user is asked if they would like to 'auto-generate', 'create/edit', or 'load' a draft class, the user should be able to select 'auto-generate' and be given the option of a having a 'below-average', 'average', or 'above-average' draft class.

                  1. Change sound of the ball hitting the rim..Dallas Rims sound different then The Pistons rim...
                  2. Long 3 point shots in real life bounce off hard, in 2k they bounce short.
                  3. Tip rebounds that are tipped back out towards 3 point line to the point guard.

In My Player (pretty much the only mode I play), you should be able to sim at any time, or sim to a certain point of the game (for example I could sim the the fourth quarter if I want to). I think this would allow A LOT of people to actually finish their my players.

A way to fix the lead pass from going through people and the better players from going completely through the defender on a drive instead put in a kind of direction control for lay ups and using the clutch to do the different styles like the euro step i dont know how many times ive tried to get a layup and the game forced me into the defender and i throw some stupid shot up and always miss something online that controls how much turbo somebody can use sort of like madden did where they didnt use turbo at all speed was based on open field or the amount of space around them

                          starting lineups

Think it'd be cool to have an intro like that Michael Jordan intro in 2K11. It'd be cool with Crew, you and your teammates in the tunnel in first person view and you run out and the PA guy introduces you one by one.

Something I like to see is actual international players processes. Where most of the Foreigners stay across seas for a season or two. Even though I am not of fan of drafting them IRL(because not sure if they can translate over), but I wouldnt mind drafting them in NBA 2k. It could be mentioned in the scouting report that the player will not be ready until following season.

I would like them to be more versatile players, since most of the european players are taught to play multiple positions. They could be bigger boom or bust players.
That is why potential can not be major deciders in progression in 2k13. I am buying 110% without needing to hear any info, but it is one of the major parts that effects all modes and future seasons. Along with fixing the bugs in Association and MP, it could make 2k13 great.

I think it would be really nice if you tried to make the game more balanced so that small guards don't have such a disadvantage in the paint and such.

In real life, little guys like Chris Paul and Tony Parker have a few advantages against bigger defenders in the paint:

                              1. They're excellent at drawing contact and know how to jump into shot-blockers to keep the ball away from them as they get it up to the rim (while drawing a foul call at the same time),

                              2. They know how to float the ball above the arms of a shot-blocker if necessary,

                              3. They can utilize fake passes into layups that can keep the big man guessing whether the guard will dump it off or go up himself, and

                              4. They have the ability to, while in mid-air, drop a pass to a teammate if the help defense commits too much.

None of these are very prevalent in 2K12, because some players just NEVER draw fouls (take the Clippers online and get into the paint with Paul and see how many fouls you get called in your favor), and the game simply doesn't allow us to pass out of certain layup animations (which is just silly). On top of that, there's no way to shoot a high-arcing layup at will except the "Runner" shot, which, let's face it, is woefully unreliable, because half the time it gets blocked anyway, it's not a very user-friendly input to trigger it, and you can't trigger it at will (a lot of times you get a stepback, which could make someone want to throw the damn controller). And of course, the fake pass function is, I'm gonna be honest, primitive. It can't be done on the move and it's just... there.

As a result, big men can recklessly and wantonly charge at a driving guard and basically try to clobber him with no penalty. Big men should be HESITANT to over-commit to crafty guards. Instead, in 2K12, they're super aggressive and don't pay for it.

Also, certain players just act dumb as dirt on the court. Why do Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan insist on spotting up 15+ feet away from the basket after their defender rotates on help defense? They, and ESPECIALLY they, should be looking to cut IMMEDIATELY, considering how much they love getting lobs and easy baskets at the rim.

No NBA player is stupid enough to spot up that far from the basket with no one on him if he doesn't have a reliable jumper. Griffin, I can live with to an extent (even though he should probably be cutting more than spotting up, and also the fact that he sometimes spots up at the three-point line), but DeAndre Jordan has NO excuse. He has NO range on his shot and he jumps out of the gym. Watch a real Clippers game. He cuts all the time when players help. In 2K12 though, you'd think he was that fat kid at recess that just stands around on the court thinking about tater tots.

Another area that needs improvement is the pick-and-roll. The main flaws with the current system are:

-The screener will stay in the "screen" stance even after the defender goes under/over the screen. That's ridiculous. I've already USED the screen-- the fact that the defender did not make contact with you does not mean that you have to keep trying to screen him. Roll to the damn basket.

-Defenders can go under screens without paying the price. In real life, the screener IS allowed to move slightly to make it more difficult for the defender to simply go under and avoid the screen. That's why most players try to fight THROUGH the screen over the top for the most part, unless it's just a really, really bad jump-shooter like Rondo. Bottom line, screeners need to adjust to deter defenders from going under, and less moving screens need to be called.

Players can also play entry passes to the post with NO PENALTY WHATSOEVER. All they have to do is mash the steal button when they see you want to throw it down to a big, and they NEVER PAY FOR IT because it's literally impossible for your player to be out of position. In real life, if you try to deflect an entry pass and mistime it (say, if the defender fakes the pass, but you think he actually has passed it), you're in the air and out of position. In 2K12, if you mistime it, your player just swipes at the ballhandler, not putting you out of position whatsoever. I might be a little out of line here, but this PISSES ME OFF. Make people have to jump manually (not because the game realizes it's time to jump) if they want to contest entry passes, so that I can fake pass, get their stupid asses up in the air and make them pay for doing something that players don't do a lot in real life FOR A REASON.
