Gonna say no to this trade...I see your logic, but the Celtics aren't getting any better with this trade imo. Pistons prolly won't trade Stuckey to get expiring contracts they don't need. They have plenty of cap space so they wouldn't bother. And the Nets aren't gaining anything here either.

Like if I start it up with the recommended settings and what not, are there any ways to let the other 29 teams that I don't really want to control to have their lineups be fine with minutes and all? Also would the manual injuries really be necessary (again is there a way to have the CPU automatically adjust the lineups/minutes)?

Pretty much what I'm getting at is I want to run this 30-team thing with the least amount of work to do for the other 29 teams (outside of the off-season as I know that'll be mandatory). Also, would it really be killer to have Player Roles on as I always liked the fact it gave a little "realism" to the mode.

Sorry if all these questions have been asked a million times over and over again I just didn't want to go through 8 pages of reading. Thanks in advance!

Read page one of this thread. Click the link to the google doc and everything is there. Good luck! Message or ask here on anything you have trouble with.

I've been messing with various settings and seeing how much work each thing is. I'm turning injuries on since it's not so hard to adjust rotations on my own. But, IMO, player roles are gigantic pain in the arse so I'm turning those off. I'm working on a spreadsheet that has player roles but from a roster construction POV. That's just so I can look at a team and know what they need to focus on in free agency/draft/trade.

        Anyone dislike this trade?

        Cavaliers get O.J. Mayo
        Grizzlies get Ray Allen
Celtics get Tony Allen, Omri Casspi

On second thought, I'm thinking maybe Cleveland guys with expiring contracts would be more likely to head to Boston on this, such as Jamison or Sessions, since the trade would be about cap room for them.
After more than eight years on here, I finally figured out how to edit my time zone!

Couple problem's I see here. Number one Grizzles have said they would want a 1st rounder in any trade for O.J. Mayo. Number two is the Cavs aren't giving up much to get Mayo. I would just get rid of the Celtics from the trade. Grizzles wouldn't want to get rid of Allen and the Celtics don't want him back as they could of resigned him a couple years ago. A Fair deal seems like Omri Casspi, Anthony Parker and Kings 1st rounder lottery protected for Mayo

It's a decent idea in terms of the players each team is getting, but with the Lakers up over the salary cap trading 3 guys who have a combined salary under 2 million for Wallace who has a 9 million deal won't go through. For any Lakers trade to work they have to give up one of their bigger salary players.

Hey bEd what do you think of my KG deal? And in my association who should get JR smith before the signing deadline? I tried to make it realistic since the china guys wont be back until march(which is deadline month IRL), so i just made them available in feb. I put chandler back on denver. Who should get Kenyon martin?

I don't think its bad, I just had the same questions that dpauley had. Since Garnett is an expiring contract are they better off just holding on to him? Is Stuckey enough/would Detroit give him up? My last question involved D Howard so I guess you explained that already lol!

Seems like best place for Martin would be the Trail Blazers or Clippers. Both teams depth at PF spot is pretty weak. As for J.R. Smith, the Celtics could be a good landing spot if their still in playoff race

All good points guys. I think stuckey and detroit would be better off. Plus it seems like Knight and Monroe are their guys. I do agree that the celtics would probably be better off with garnett, BUT i want to keep it realistic. Since IRL, ainge said he'll deal garnett, allen, and possibly pierce, i wanted to deal one of them.

Personally I think its not too bad even if you left the first rounder out from the Kings... Im not sure they can even trade it because the Cavs own their 2012 pick but its lottery protected

If you want to jump-start the re-building process in Boston then I would move Pierce to a contender. That gets rid of the one member of their Big 3 with the longest contract. Once You let KG, and Ray walk in the offseason Boston will have a ton of cap space to go after FA's.
