Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
I don't know that Tolliver is needed. I' not sure where he gets playing time with Scola, Patterson, and Morris. I don't know what his contract situation is like so that could change things.
As of now, I haven't made any moves yet. I like DJ and Gerald, but I think I can upgrade them. DJ is playing pretty well but I don't want to give him a lot of money and I think he could get me a good player in a trade. I do enjoy a 2 PG offense though. Augustin and Walker are playing well together for me. I still haven't decided if I'll keep him or not. Henderson isn't bad, but I need some 3 point shooting. Right now the PGs are my only 3 point threats.
I'm really not sure what to do at PF/C. Mullens is a big question mark. I like his post game but he is a horrible defender and rebounder. Either I'll need to work on his defense in training camp or find a replacement. i think Biyombo and Thomas can be long term players for me. I really like some of the bigs in the next 13' and 14' draft classes so I could end up with a draft pick and Biyombo starting and Thomas as the first big off the bench. Unless I win the lottery, I doubt I'll take a big in the 12' draft class. DJ White could be a keeper as the 4th big unless I upgrade him in free agency. If I can trade Boris Diaw I likely will.
Right now Corey Maggette is playing poorly. I'd really like to get himm out. If I can't trade him I'll likely use the amnesty clause on him. Derrick Brown is playing well and I think he can be my backup 3. Harrison Barnes is my primary target for the draft. I think him and Kemba can be a legitemate 1-2 punch for a championship team. I've thought about going after Brad Beal to be my 6th man as well. I'd like to sign a vetern defensive specialtist to start at SG. I'm getting very little scoring from my wings and Barnes and Beal would be a MAJOR upgrade. If I was to win the lottery and take Davis, I could look at Quincy Miller with the 2nd pick. I really like Miller's game.
Sorry I went so long lol. You think these ideas can work? Any suggestions on what I could do?

Basically, i traded Diaw/henderson/13 2nd rounder for Dudley and Lopez. This way i get my big man, and have dudley coming off the bench. It helps my team a lot. Also improves my bench. It also helps the suns cause now Gortat can get more min and suns dont plan to resign lopez anyways they said. So they get some much need youth. Plus the 2nd rounder is nice for them.
My lineup was
Kemba walker
DJ augustine
Dudley
T. Thomas
Lopez
Dj white/williams my two main guys off the bench
mullens is b/u center
I used amnesty on Maggette, i dont like him at all. With my top pick i am going for barnes or perry. And i will use free agency for more and hope OJ Mayo is there. I really plan to develop Bismack Biyombo's offense, and by year two he will give me 18min from the bench. From here its just developing my team. I will make another trade, just not sure what. Trade deadline isnt for another month.Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
How bout Jefferson and Earl Watson to Atlanta for Hinrich (expiring contract) and Za and two first rounders? I'm not as sold on this one either but then again I like it a lot. Utah gets more PT for their young front court and some cap room once Hinrich is off the book and Za (2 years for Za) and two first rounders is always good. Atlanta gets their Center since Horford is out and even when he comes back they can slide him to the 4 and Smith to the 3 and have an amazing lineup with a lot of versatility that might be able to make the push for the Finals?...
Anyone feelin this deal?Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Quick question regarding the Draft. So when you say a team receives another teams pick and say they only receive it if it's 6th or higher does this mean higher as in 7th an so on or higher as in 1st-5th?Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Was thinking of making Hawks first pick sent to Utah a lottery protected one and then just letting the second 1st rounder sent to Utah just whatever it comes up on. Lol, I'm not gonna lie swapping picks around and protecting them is hectic. I still have to figure out how to input all the ones that have already been swapped IRL (what does everyone do for that? Do they fix the draft picks before the season or before the draft?)
Also for the 3 team deal who else could I add to the mix? I've been lookin to get some 3 team trades going to add some more realism.Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
With my Cats franchise, I immediately traded Boris Diaw the second I booted up my association. The dude plays like he's injesting horse tranquilizer EVERY game...both in real life and in 2K's world. I honestly don't really HATE any player in the NBA....if there is one dude I strongly dislike with a passion...it's that damn Frenchman. But I digress.
Once I did that, I shipped away Maggette to Chicago for Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver. It was a perfect trade that benefited both teams...at least in my association. Charlotte gets an outside shooter it needed and a young defensive stopper while Chicago gets another scoring option for Rose.
I ended up 3rd to last in the NBA with my record, so I had a top 4 draft pick. Ended up with the #4 overall pick and selected Anthony Davis (for some reason the CPU passed on him all 3 picks). The dude has been a franchise-saving BEAST.
I traded Mullens away, moved Tyrus Thomas to Center, and how my lineup looks like:
PG - Augustin
SG - Walker
SF - Henderson
PF - Davis
C - Thomas
Ronnie Brewer now comes off the bench and in year 3 the Heat let Chalmers go in free agency and I picked him up. For once, things are looking better in Charlotte.Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
I like that move swag, it does help both teams, i wish i thought of the maget move. Ur diaw comment is true.
I traded dj and diaw to the suns
For lopez and dudley.
Its fair and benefits both teams. Lopez is starting center now, and dudley is giving me good min from the bench.
Question the 76ers are actually doing bad, real bad should i trade iggy? Or just keep roster intact?Comment

Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion
Looking to deal Rudy Gay in the offseason to re-sign OJ and Arthur...
Grizz trade: Rudy Gay,
Bulls trade: Luol Deng, Kyle Korver
Grizz trade: Rudy Gay
Pistons trade: Monroe, Prince
Grizz trade: Rudy Gay
Nets trade: Morrow, Farmar, Damion James, 1st rounder
Looking for depth, clear up some space and guys that fit the Grizzlies' style of defense. I really like the Bulls deal because this is a deal that would probably help put Chicago over the top. Deng fits into the Grizz style of play and Korver adds to the shooting the Grizz need.
Any other ideas or suggestions?PSN: bhzmafia14Comment

That said, your asking prices are too high IMO; I can't see the Bulls giving up their bes perimeter defender and best shooter for him, same goes for Detroit Monroe is one of the only decent pieces they have, and 3 players(all decent back-ups at least, morrow could be an up and comer) and a 1st round pick is way too much for one player who isn't a top 5 guy.
Gay for Prince and Maxiell(if he's still on your team) would be more realistic, for Detroit to give up a young piece like Monroe you would have to take Villanueva and his horrible contract also. I like him going to Detroit for Prince as would give Memphis a similar line-up to the playoffs last year when Gay was hurt. They'd just be swapping Battier for Prince.Last edited by qpc123; 02-05-2012, 02:57 PM."You come at the King, you best not miss..."Comment

If it doesn't get any better, I still don't think the 76ers are going to trade Iggy..they have a nice young nucelus of Iggy, Williams, Holliday, and Young. I would say wait it out for them and hope for a nice draft pick.Comment

Let me preface this by saying I like Rudy Gay as player in real life and in the game as well.

I was looking at Rudy for Deng/Korver becasue Rudy is the better overall player. I think putting Rudy in Chicago's system, along with player with DRose would elevate his game even more. I added Korver because Chicago would simply be getting the better overall player.
Rudy isn't a top 5 player, but he's a top 20 player probably pushing top 15. He's only 25. Golden State was talking about trading Ellis and Wright for him before the season, or at least that was the rumored deal. I'm just trying not to sell him short because he does have high value even with his contract.
There are several teams out there I think could use him. But, I would at least like to get back a guy capable of starting (and under the age of 30 on a good contract) along with another solid role player or maybe even 2. Also, willing to add in another guy if needed.
Utah, Cleveland, Raptors, SUns, Pistons and even Boston could use a guy like Rudy.
What's the deal with Jeff Green and Boston? Did they void his contract, but are still able to sign and trade him this off-season? Would a Bass/Green for Gay swap be good? Boston can then begin to build around Rondo/Gay and possibly still get Dwight?Last edited by bhzmfia14; 02-05-2012, 03:52 PM.PSN: bhzmafia14Comment

To answer to Celtics question, from what I understand Green is a UFA and is free to sign with any team. So Boston would not be able to sign and trade him.Tennessee Volunteers

I think he's asking for to little. The Bulls trade is an obvious DO IT trade for Chicago. Deng is great defender like you say but so is Gay. He's also a lot better offensive player. And Korver? Chicago would be fine with sending him along if it meant getting another top 20 player.
Also the Detroit trade seems fair in value but it's just that Memphis doesn't need Monroe and Detroit likes Monroe A LOT right now. Also nobody really wants Prince at the moment with his contract and how he's playing and his age. If Memphis made the trade of Gay for Maxiell and Prince I think the GM would be fired the next day tbh. Two bench players for a top notch player like Rudy Gay... no way!
Then the Nets trade that slyone posted is crazy as well. You're highly undervaluing Rudy Gay.Comment
