    Re: Bedwardsroy19 30-Team Control Association Guide/Discussion

I have a question. I have been playing 2k since 11, so for like 2 years pretty religously and love it. I have only tried one team at a time. I am very interested in 30 team association but it sounds soo complicated and time consuming. Excluding offseason things, how much more effort does 30 team take. I will only play games from 1 team and do the rest beds way. How much time during the season does it take. Although it is less realistic, i do 58 game seasons cause i play alot of games.

Also, how from chise menu in Ps3 do i change the team i am controling. Ie if i want to change a different teams roster around, or set minutes, or anything like that. Could i a ps3 user who wouldnt mind give some basic 30 team button controls please?

Finally, i am very caught up on nba and follow it religously, i do post all my trades on rate my trade, but sometimes people dont answer. With that being said how do you experts here determine if trade is really fair? I know espn.com has a trade app.

Thank you again for everyones help, i am very intersted in doing this, but i am a graduate student so i dont have alot of time. So i want to know what i am getting into.

What about shipping Cousins to Dallas as a center since Heywood is always hurt and get either Jason Terry, Vince Carter or Delonte West. Any suggestions on a trade involving any of those players an anyone on my team?

Or maybe a trade involving Greg Oden and Cousins.

I did this one and received a lot of favorable reviews.

          Minnesota trades

          Beasley
          Wesley johnson
          Luke Ridnour
          2nd rounder 12

          Sacramento trades

          Cousins
filler for cap space of your choosing can include anyone you think is fair

I did this for my chise and it clearly benefited all teams. I signed extension with Beasley. Both sides improved there overall and even there records for the year by almost 10 wins if i remember right. It also fills the needs of all teams.

One person said Sac doesnt need johnson. To which i added this, in the 2012-2013 season he got runner up for 6xth man of the year award. Lost it by Lamar odom of the mavs, only cause i think they had a better record. Beasley got 23 ppg for them/7rpg and some steals and assists. Luke really gave them some pg help and allowed the star player to move to sg.

For the wolves i wanted salmon, cause i like him alot and also hayes for my filler. Finally, Cousins ended up my star player and in the 12-13 season was a 16/10 guy. So it really helped us out a lot.

A second Minn and sac trade as swaggercoach recommended

              Minn trades

              Beasley
              Anthony randolph
              wesley johnson
              13 st rounder

              Sac trades

              Cousins
              garcia

It kinda leaves sac short handed at center, but i think IRL they would just play Chuck hayes there, or A. Randolph. Either way i agree with swagger that its fair

So... when this 30 team control association idea first started being tossed around, my biggest concern was how I was going to determine where free agents were going to go. Knowing me, I'd just sign all the best guys to the Bulls and sign all the worst guys to the Heat and be done with it. But that's a stupid way to approach this so I decided to make a calculator that would determine how I should assign free agents.

On my blog is a post and a document with an excel sheet. I'd love for you guys to check it out and give me feedback. Details are in the blog post but the short version is:

Taking into account all the things that a team has to offer a free agent, how would he decide? Some cities are more attractive than others. Therefore, the Bobcats would have to offer way more money than the Lakers in order to attract a free agent. This is why the Pistons are trapped under the weight of Charlie Villanueva and Ben Gordon's ridiculous contracts. Anyone remember Jim MacIlvaine signing with Seattle for stupid money? I tried to mathmatecize this.

The doc factors money, years, team attractiveness, going to a winning team, and player role. What I'm not 100% set on is how these factors should be weighted. I think I've got it pretty close and it's set up to be customized however you like. But I'd like to see if we can get some discussion going. We can keep the discussion in the blog comments so we don't clog up this thread.

Here's the link... and a big tip of the cap to volstopfan14 who did a the math and helped organize the system.

After game 3 i ended up trading Cousins and John Salmons to Portland for Jamal Crawford and Greg Oden. Oden if he stays healthy gives me a dominating defensive force i want in the middle and Crawford gives me another great shooter and will replace Salmons minutes in the game. After the first game with it I was very happy with the deal as Oden bullied Andrew Bynum and Crawford added 17. Gives Evans another target aswell and i really needed a good defensive center. Feel I might be 1 more key player away from really competing.

So i have a trade fairness question. When i start my 30 team chise i will be controlling and playing as the jazz. But i do love thd suns and was thinking of this trade. The suns need young talent and the Derozan i think would do so much better with a great dishing pg like nash.

So what would be a fair and realistic trade for him from phoenix prospective. I have some ideas, but need more options. I lime lopez as center a lot. And morris as pf. And hill as sf. I will let go of childress.

                            So thinking

                            Gortat
                            Price

                            For
                            Derozan

I like gortat but he is around 28 and his ceiling is only so high. So i think he would be a good asset. Again, i come to u all as final decision cause nt controling them. So who should i trade on him.

Coming from the Raptors perspective, I don't see them giving up a young player with a very high ceiling who they value tremendously. I just don't see them trading DeRozan unless you're throwing in a 1st round pick...and even then it's iffy...bottom line is, I just don't see him getting traded. (In later years, maybe).

I agree. One must also consider the fact that the Raptors are already filled at center: Amir Johnson, Aaron Gray, Jamaal Magloire, and Solomon Alabi. Though all 4 of these players are worse than Gortat, there is no merit in the Raptors trading for a 28 year old average starting center when they have the 2011 5th overall draft pick Jonas Valanciunas coming over from Lithuania next year.

It would be tough to create a fair trade involving the Suns getting DeRozan unless it was a 3 team deal with the Raptors ending up with a high upside PG/SG/SF; the only Sun who comes close to qualifying is Jared Dudley.
