Licensing issue, my man. Tell James Dolan to lower his asking price, or who ever owns Madison Square Garden, and the "official" MSG would be back in the NBA 2K series. The Pacers and Rockets have also had licensing issues with their arenas and the NBA 2K series.

Art looks mostly untouched this year, so I hope they are looking at this thread for art updates this year. (They owe us these since we were told last year they could finally do it, yet we never got an update. Not one...)


When looking at the full game video, you can see that some players arm sizes differ, but their bodies are all almost identical.

Faces need serious work.

I can't say enough about jerseys, they need a BIG overhaul.

Accessories, we definitely need more. Home/away option, layering options

Colors look very faded, need to be much more bold.

Didn't really see any sweat in the video, would be a nice addition.

Again, we need an aging factor when it comes to the players look. We can already add on weight for them which makes them look slightly bigger. If they made hair and facial hair 3D, maybe that would allow us to be able to edit these to make them "age" ourselves. Because it looks ridiculous 5-6 years through an Association and all of the players look the exact same. (This may not be an option til next gen, but it's worth mentioning).

Why can't one of the accessory colors be coded like socks are so that they change from black to white when they're supposed to? Seems like it would be an easy way to work around things like knee pads and whatnot that players don't usually wear team colors.

suprised nobody mentioned this....the iverson version they have looks like a bloated 36 year old iverson..
maybe its just me but iverson of 2001 did not look like this hey looked like this....



kobe got a younger version with a fro last year, give us a younger verson unbloated "young looking" iverson...thanks

The first post has been updated with the newest suggestions with pictures. If you don't find some of your suggestions, it means it was already on the list.

As long as 2K proves that art is going to be updated continuously during the 2013 season, I will continue with the first post list.

No they didin't, but that doesn't mean they can't update art. I believe that the Suns court is still the old one, so they will have to update it eventually.

I don't know if this belongs here or if 2K can even update this or if this has been mentioned here....but (looking at the controls trailer) MJ's skin color is totally off, what a shame! He's supposed to be as dark at least as Ibaka. I think only someone like Michael Finley should be darker. Yet MJ's skin color looks more like Pippen's in real life. What a shame.

I hope someone at 2K is reading this.

I understand where are you coming from youvalss.

If you look closely at the screen, it's not even close. MJ actually looks to have a green/yellow skin tone and yet they managed to make someone like Magic darker than Jordan, when it's exactly the other way around.

Jordan's skin tone is off, WAY off. The legends have definitely been given secondary treatment this year, which is saddening for old heads such as myself. I'm seriously thinking of switching to pc

Well, I feel your pain on a lot of issues with the legends - sadly this year the focus has been on current teams and those of us who prefer the old school NBA have been given the short end of the stick, so it would seem, with the apprent loss of several big name superstars.

It sounds drastic, but that could a deal breaker for me. I'll have to wait for the demo to hit the UK, then make up my mind from there.

After playing the demo, a lot of the players aren't dark enough, most notably, Sefalosha, Westbrook, Battier, and LeBron. I'm sure MJ isn't dark enough either.

And why can I not tell the difference between Durant, Ibaka, and Perkins in broadcast view? They are all built the EXACT same way.

Honestly, how can a CANCELED NBA Live game have a better cloth effect or whatever than 2K's?



I'm strictly talking about how it fits here. To me, it looks pretty realistic, not to mention their cyberfaces and skin textures look better IMO. And their colors seem to be a lot more bold compared to 2K's faded colors (take a look at any screenshot of the Clippers, instead of dark blue it's closer to a UNC blue, and there's plenty of other examples).

That's seriously the only good thing to say about NBA Live because we all know 2K is a beast at gameplay, features, etc.

Now if they can just get that art fixed!!

I'd also like to voice my disappointment at what clearly seems to be a 'lackluster' effort from the art department! Sad really, when a cancelled 'NBA Live' game shows more potential and promise (visually) than a finished product (NBA2K13) ready to hit store shelves. What happened, 2K?

If you guys could have put a little more effort and given us a few more player accessories, polished high-res faces and courts this game would be BOSS! As it stands, it looks like you just did the 'bare minimum' and recycled a lot of stuff from previous games. C'mon 2K! You can do better!
