More like almost 3/4 of the league.

Either that or make Emotion mean something. I am being serious. You almost see 50-75% of players complain to refs if they dont get the foul they want or foul they got called on.

Add "Ankle Breaker" to the list.

One thing I noticed about the new cover athletes for NBA 2K13 is that they were all young, up-and-coming stars. Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant and Blake Griffin represent the future of the league. In a similar way, that’s what the… Continue Reading →

In that case, how about an ability that allows players to drop a grenade anytime they get blocked? lol

I want to get thrown out of a game, get a technical, do stuff Ron Artest would do.

Throw in an "Indecisive" sig skill that way we never know what we want to do, a la Dwight Howard.

There isn't a tendency or rating that can simulate quick "second jumpers" like Shawn Marion. Giving guys like Love and Randolph a "boost" in rebounding is key, especially when the athletic ratings (vertical and quickness) seem to overpower the actual core ratings (hustle, off. & def. rebounding).

Rebounding is something I definitely want and expect to be a Sig Skill.
There isnt a tendency to rebound or box out. I didnt like how who athletic players basically could win a rebounding battle with a great rebounder. Especially hated when a 6'0 PG beats out a 7'0 C for a rebound.

So, I expect a "rebounder" skill or maybe a box out(or hopefully tendency).

This "skill" adds nothing that can't be duplicated in 2K12.
Agree. I don't like the fact that "traits" overlap ratings and tendencies and can complicate things except that the precise effect of traits probably won't be well documented. I would prefer they fix the ratings and tendencies for players rather than use a lazy binary fix through a trait. Traits should really be for intangibles/quirks/personality differences that can't be easily quantified in numbers but can be programmed as an effect. Corner shooting effectiveness and tendency is one of those things that can be quantified easily and should be kept as a hotspot/rating/tendency.

Here are the ones I think will be in(no nicknames):

-Rebounder-should be able to beat other players out for rebounds
-Floor Vision/Passing- Ability to create for other teammates and make the right pass.
-Clutch- To play better in the 4th.
                        - On-Ball Steals- More success of pick-pocketing
Pull-Up Shooters- For guys like Westbrook.
                        - Taking Charges
                        - Block-For the elite blockers. Have a better chance of blocking and disrupting/changing a shot
                        - Draw Fouls- able to get more calls their way.
-Contact Dunk- For the guys who can dunk on someone, so every guy over 75 cant dunk on players.
-Spot up Shooter- For the guys who consistently make shots off screens or open shots.

I was hesitant to put more or even some of the ones I put in. Some could be done by just tendencies/ratings. There isnt a tendency for rebounding/box, so a rebounder skill should be in. Even if a player had high rebound ratings last year, a PG/SG would be them out at times. Pass Rating should be for how well they pass.

Add "Pick-pocketer" for official sig skills.

                          http://www.gameinformer.com/games/nb...-nba-2k13.aspx.

So, we have about 9-10 confirmed Sig Skills. I am guessing we hear the rest within the next 2 weeks.
After thinking about it, 28 seems like alot. Im not complaining, but I wonder what the rest our. Some of the ones not officialized may be obvious, but I am curious to see the rest. I think it is a great thing. I think this is great. Even with ratings/tendencies, players didnt play differently. Kobe and Beasley played very similarly last year.

Like, for Ankle Breakers, maybe that trait "unlocks" a different/more extreme type of stumble animation?
-Floor Generals animation set could include him waving his arms around as if to control traffic and get guys to their rightful spots? (Would also be a great excuse to bring back signature walk-up ani's)
-A Brick Wall, obviously, could lead to his "victim" being laid out harder.
-Lockdown Defender's set could include the ballhandler picking up the ball more/losing the handle?

Exactly I also think for floor generals they will run plays more faster more crisp. The floor generals benefit the whole team awareness. So I think if you have a non floor general PG it is like bringing in a backup QB in for football, the timing may be slightly off and the plays might run a little bit slower. This could be very sick.

I think there will be one for "off ball movement". They need one to separate the Ray Allen guys who are good at going around screens and getting open off screens. I think there will one for passing probably called court vision so the CP3's Rondo's, Rubio's, Deron and LeBron probably have this.

Re: NBA 2K13 Signature Skills -- Confirmed Additions vs Speculated Additions

When I first heard about the traits, I said they should have animations tied to them. Hopefully this is the case with the ratings related signature skills.

Maybe they'll look better on the back of the box as Signature Skills, but I see these as additional tendencies. "28 more tendencies" would probably have gone over better with the hardcore gamers.

I say tendencies because, IRL, some players have the skills/ratings to do things but either don't or can't do them. I see these addressing what many of us complain about... the lack of separation from player to player. There are players with LeBron's speed, height, jumping & blocking ability, but they tend not to get chase down blocks for whatever reason. In addition to the skill to do so, LeBron has the tendency to make these types of plays.

Another example would be % vs frequency. There are players that hit 2s/3s at a high % but are not top scorers or 3pt shooters vs players that shoot at the same or lower % but are considered better scorers / 3pt shooters. Scorer & 3pt Specialist tendencies / signature skills can help differentiate. So, a scorer that only shoots 47% from the field is able to maintain or exceed that with a high number of attempts. A non-scorer that shoots 55% will either not take many shots(CPU controlled) or will not be able to maintain that % with a high number of attempts(Hum & CPU controlled). Hopefully 2K is thinking this way.

Lastly, I hope these don't detract from the need for more accurate ratings/tendencies. Though I believe tendencies & signature skills can address some of the issues that can't be solved by ratings alone, there are still many players that are not accurately rated/tendencied. I never understood why they don't start with one of the better roster from OS.
