I started playing these games when the players were sticks, centers dribbled the ball up the court, there was no post game , & the only plays I ran were the ones in my head!! What sneakers????? Honestly for me, I've never even thought of shoes. Long as the player models are fairly accurate & the gameplay is tight, I'm happy! Can't imagine even noticing shoes. Lol!!!
Anybody else bothered by 2K's utter refusal to get sneakers right?

I'm with you on this one...though maybe they aren't showing anything to us just yet & they will in the next few weeks. I noticed the other day in a gameplay footage from gamescom, they showed the Under Armour sponsorship, maybe they're gonna add new shoes and stuff like that to the game.
Let's just pray that it gets done. And please 2k, don't make us pay for DLC's if we wanna get new shoes in the game. Please!Hope is lost. Faith is broken. A fire will rise.Comment

Re: Anybody else bothered by 2K's utter refusal to get sneakers right?
To me, Gameplay is the CORE of what makes a great game. It's the most important part to the game. Maybe, to your dismay, shoes are toward the bottom in importance. But I still think saying it's an "utter refusal" is quite a stretch.
Frankly, I REALLY have a problem with the mentality. When I think of the times I've seen dudes get beat down because of shoes, I tend to actually resent the cultures. Folks are getting shot of f'ing shoes! Really? And guys here are having a conniption over it. For me, personally, it's too much. When you're playing the game in ANY mode, are you REALLY that fixated on the shoes. I'm NOT trying to belittle the point. As I said - it's a legit gripe. But to rage about it to the extent some do is quite sad. No one wants to feel ignored and neglected. I get that. I don't think it's the case here. It's not as if the game doesn't add a bunch of new shoes on a yearly basis. But will they ever get EVERY shoe? I don't know. I'll bet they will try. But until that time comes, are we going to have a fit because a strip is off? I hope not. It really isn't worth it.Comment

when they blatantly tell us in an insight for 2k11 about being able to make a certain colorway (XI space jams) and come release you can't actually do it, it kinda rubs me the wrong way.
I'm not going to get into how it looks odd that the shoes are a horrendous resolution compared to the player models and courts, not to mention just MIRRORED from the left foot onto the right foot it sucks.
All that being said I'm glad we got all the options of ones we do, and Nike ID is boss, but the implementation is horrid. I also can't agree its a gamebreaker, just a Major Annoyance. Major.
Also I love how any shoe thread turns people not caring about shoes shouting "STFU its sneakers it doesn't matter", like we wish that's all they worked on. Miss me with that.HELLO BROOKYLN.

Agreed to an extend. I'm like the other guys - I'm used to playing video game basketball on Atari where it looked like this:

It just always gives me a chuckle when guys will come into a thread like "All that matters is gameplay." If the game played great but looked like Hoops 98 they wouldn't be saying that.Comment

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a sneaker buff at all. I just look at correct sneakers being a part of making the game as good as possible along with gameplay, online, overall presentation, etc.

The fact of the matter is the game looks REALLY great as is and the gameplay decent. It's not like the presentation isn't already amazing. There is a reason the biggest gripes about presentation nowadays is just ... shoes (smh).
No need for you to get defensive just because others don't have the same desire to play dress up.2K teams : Rockets,Thunder

Re: Anybody else bothered by 2K's utter refusal to get sneakers right?
Then why show up and post? Why do people act like an advertised part of the game cant be critique? No one in this thread is saying they aren't going to buy the game due some of the shoes being messed up, no one here has said that it's a dealbreaker, but people would like the details fixed when they have been ignored for 3 years straight. If shoes don't mean anything to you why post in the thread? Go do something more constructive with your time.Comment

I can feel and express that it is female stuff. Nobody accused you of not buying the game because of it but it is still female stuff. Cosmetics. I thought we were ball players over here. Not auditioning for Project Runway.
Like what? Play dress up with my digital basketball players?Comment

Re: Anybody else bothered by 2K's utter refusal to get sneakers right?
I could care less about shoes, i just want improvements in the core gameplay and i'm satisfied. It's looking like they're trying to fix a lot of things that were broken(such as passing). I just hope they also change the rebounding system as well(rebounding animations are too stiff and often result in a ball bouncing off a players face or arm instead of grabbing it).
Shoes are just extra really IMO.Comment
