Re: NBA 2K13 Demo Available Now For 360 and PS3, Post Impressions Here
ok, what was said here did work, but all the wing players do the same moves and all the bigs do the exact sames moves.
thats not how it was b4, most of the players had 4 moves that were unique to them...
now Russell, Kevin, Thabo, LBJ, D.Wade, and Mario all perform the exact same moves.
the bigs do a simplier version, but still all the bigs do the same moves.
how do you do the moves that were specific to that player or have those player specific animations been removed?PSN: ForeverVersatile

I feel like this has always been an issue for me in 2k games, but I've tried to overlook it.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Why can I not guard whoever I want? Like if I'm the PF I'm almost locked on him and can't face someone else. Does defensive assist to 0 in retail prevent this?
EDIT: Christ, everytime I ask this 3 other people post at the same time leaving my **** ignored -_-Last edited by Steve Nashhole; 09-26-2012, 01:37 PM.Comment

Is it just me or do they get a lot of offensive boards? It feels I have to perfectly box out and jump at the right time to have a shot of getting it and my other teammates just stand thereComment

I'm just glad I can do simple crossover. I will have to get use to the controls, but love the idea. Also like the passing. I appreciate that if the pass isn't there, the ball won't go but sometimes it kills the flow of the game if you don't use the advance passing. You have more control but at times its too stiff. I've played the demo like 4 times, but that's it. I'm still into football right now but I will get 2k13.Comment

I got to play the demo last night for a couple of hours. I love everything about the demo except the controls. The contact is very realistic. I love all the animations. I even saw Bosh get run over by Ibaka and Bosh fell into wade, then wade fell also. It was like a domino or bowling pin situation. It looked so real. It was a Wow moment for sure. There was a lot of those moments in my time playing.
However, the controls don't make sense the me. One of the reasons "the other game" didn't appeal to me was because of the right stick dribbling. I became a fan of the shot stick. I think 2k should of kept the shot stick the way it was and used L1 or R1 for dribble moves on the right stick as default. Then have L2/modifier for the shots on the shot stick and came up with another way to call plays. I hope the alt controls are similar to what I mentioned. LOL.
The controls will be an "acquired taste" for me, but the control stick just doesn't make sense. Hopefully I can get used to it sooner than later. Overall 2k13's demo is great and is the most realistic looking bball game I've ever played.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Demo Available Now For 360 and PS3, Post Impressions Here
I'm liking the way that in online matches, if your PG is trailing your opponent's PG, then your team will help instead of watching him make an uncontested layup. I'm also liking the closing out animation triggered by using the right stick on defence, and the crowding out animation as well, where the ball handler has to pivot around to find room to either pass or drive. I ALSO like the fact that your player will blow a dunk in situations which called for an aggressive layup instead. Hopefully online players will learn from this and we will have a more realistic version of basketball online.
However, the post fake and step through is still not fixed. IRL, if someone makes a post move and shot fakes and his defender doesn't fall for it, the ball handler has NOWHERE to go and MUST either give it up or shoot a CONTESTED fadeaway. He cannot step through and have an easy lay-in as if his defender didn't exist. Why then does this happen in 2K? Why does the defender slide backwards after doing all the hard work to unfairly reward the ball handler?
Also, continuation is STILL broken. If the player is FOULED before he takes a shot, then that shot does NOT count and he does NOT get free throws. It's nice to see that this fundamental basketball concept occurs sometimes (unlike 2K12), but there are still times when continuation is called when the circumstances DO NOT call for that call to made.Originally posted by Dogslax41Most people that are asking for a simulation game don’t really want a simulation game because its too hard.Comment

Re: NBA 2K13 Demo Available Now For 360 and PS3, Post Impressions Here
from 2k12:
Sizeup - from a stand dribble hold LT then move LS toward basket
Sizeup Cross - from a stand dribble hold LT then move LS from ballhand towards non-ballhand
Sizeup Inside Out - from a stand dribble hold LT then move LS toward players ballhand
Sizeup Escape - from a stand dribble hold LT then move LS away from basket
where are these moves and also how do you execute them?
also almost every player had a set of 4 sizeup moves that were unique to them so Kobe's 4 sizeups were different from LBJ's or Durant's or D-Rose's. where are these moves at
in the demo if tapping the RS back 2x is the Sizeup Escape etc. then all the PG/SG/SFs all have the exact same moves and all the PF/Cs have the same moves.
hope this makes my question more clear.Through Holy Union God Lives Inside For Everyone
