heh...real cool, man...just dismiss what i saw with my own eyes...i'm not blind, and the stats don't lie. it's a real issue. it may not be obvious in every game, but when it happens in a blatant way, there's no denying the issue exists. there's just no excuse for one team beating another team on the offensive glass by 16-2, even if one team is a better rebounding team. maybe a margin of 11-7 or something would be reasonable, but the CPU was just getting EVERYTHING...even when the CPU had just one guy surrounded by three of mine, the CPU's guy still somehow came up with the offensive board. if it just happened in one game, i would just chalk it up to being a fluke, but i'm seeing drastic offensive rebounding margins in about 70 percent of my association games.

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Sorry I woke up not long ago.
Try Pro-Sim for a few games. If you feel it's a little too easy, tweak the sliders a bit to advantage the CPU. I'am not seeing offensive rebounding as an ISSUE. I see that it's not perfect, there are instances where my team and I box out pretty well, and other where my bigs aren't even looking at the ball, allowing for easy offensive rebounds but most of the time it plays great.Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
I'm even taking the advice of holding left trigger to box out all the time. Doesn't seem to matter. Last game I was out offensive rebounded 19-4.
Two things: My offensive rebounding is too low at 4. Their offensive rebounding at 19 seems a bit too high. Offensive rebounds should be about 20 per game combined. So, in actuality, the offensive rebounding is balanced, but it's swayed too much to the CPU's side. Not sure why.
It does get frustrating when you make a huge defensive stop and then see your two big men get beat to the rebound by a player out of position. I definitely agree that rebounding needs to be fixed. I still see the ball drop to the floor a bit and that should never happen..Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
So they designed this game so that the CPU can cheat in the end by getting more rebounds to secure the win? Really? You posted this same thing in another thread. What teams are you using? How good are your big men at rebounding? What teams did you play against? Was it 1 game or 30 games?
I would be fine with it if the CPU's players just had better position, but that wasn't the case. What opened my eyes to this issue was watching my AI players just stand around while the CPU's players were spinning around and running at the hoop like wild men....or seeing multiple examples of a CPU player surrounded by a crowd of my players and miraculously snatching the offensive board...meanwhile my players either stood and watched or just jumped the wrong way.
these issues seem to be worse in association than in quick match games...i think this is due to the association games taking place in the context of a season, so in association the CPU will pull out all of its tricks to beat you if you are on a long win streak...whereas in a quick match, it's just a single exhibition game and the CPU isn't trying to "break your win streak." i've noticed this in past 2k's - when you get on a long win streak in association, the CPU opponents start to get super cheesy - making crazy contested shots, getting all the boards, shooting 55-60 percent.Last edited by blues rocker; 10-09-2012, 11:20 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Here are the stats of the games I've played in my Boston association. Pro sim, 12 mins quarters, 45 game speed.
1) 76ers at Boston 86 - 106
76ers:
35/80 - 43% shooting
2 of 16 from 3
9 offensive rebounds versus 8 for me
28 defensive rebounds versus 38 for me.
Boston at Knicks 99 - 112
They shot 47/88 (53%)
6/14 from 3
11 offensive rebounds vs 7 for me
30 defensive rebounds vs 32 for me.
Portland at Boston 78 - 103
34/90 (37%)
3/9 from 3
11 off rebounds versus 10 for me
31 def rebounds versus 46 for me.
Boston at Washington 106 - 103
42/90 (46%)
2/9 from 3
13 offensive rebounds versus 2 for me.
30 defensive rebounds versus 33 for me.
So so far I'am not seeing it as an issue.Comment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Interesting. I've only played three full games but all three have been like that Boston @ Washington game you posted.
I wish I could see more like the others. Then again, small sample size.
However, when I consider issues being real or not I look at the volume of people complaining about it. Right now, there are enough people complaining about offensive rebounding for 2K to take a look and see if something is wrong.
If it's one or two guys, then it's probably nothing or style of play. When there's a thread dedicated to it, with many posts, it's a legit issue."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
Yeah sample is pretty small. I've also played some games online against legit people, I got destroyed once on the boards by the Bulls (eh Nathan?) but other than that I haven't noticed that big of an issue. I'll keep you updated if it ever appears. If not then, Pro Sim is the way to go.

2K please fix the reaction time on loose balls.
By the time my player moves to pick up the ball the CPU already has it.Comment

I see no need to jump up. Maybe others need more of a challenge. I already know I suck at this game (not to say that those on Pro suck). Being able to have a good game is more fun to me than having the CPU blow me out every night just so I can learn to be better. I don't have time for that.
As you can see, I've had the game since release day and I've played 3 full games. 3. When you have a schedule like mine, you just want to enjoy the game you're playing.
I know I've read other people feel the same way, but I'm finding myself using square to shoot and loving it. The combination of L2 plus the stick and whatever else you need to do to pull off some shots is cumbersome for me. When I found I could do most of the same moves by pressing circle (PS3), I haven't looked back. The post game has opened up tremendously for me.
And thanks to the guys that told me about changing dribbling controls to absolute. Made the R-stick a dream for me.Last edited by CMH; 10-09-2012, 02:54 PM."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. I'm on Pro Sim as well. Love how it plays.

I don't appreciate the rebounding this year, neither 2K12. There are a few things that factor into rebounding. Sometimes it's height, sometimes it's boxing out, sometimes it's the vertical, sometimes it's quickness of anticipation, and sometimes it's who has better hands, but the last couple years it's just seems as if the game predetermines who will grab the rebound most of he time. Seems as if, rebounding wise, you could do everything right to put yourself in the best possible position to grab the rebound, and still the CPU will still get the rebound seemingly grab the rebound should the game want them to. It's just my conspiracy theory.
In 2k11, I'm not gonna say the rebounding was prefect, but I averaged 18 rebounds per game with my 6'5 SG just by good rebounding mechanics and instincts. Granted, they let my player rebound over the player who was in better position to grab the rebound sometimes because I had a high vertical, but most of the time it was just me boxing out a guy, and going after the rebound, and that's how it should be.
By no means am I saying I should be grabbing 20 rpg.Last edited by sleepyshotta; 10-09-2012, 05:14 PM.My YouTube page http://www.youtube.com/user/SleepyNate718/videosComment

Re: NBA 2k13 Impressions Thread
So far i'm disappointed with 2k13. I'm noticing the CPU cheats for the better teams. I recorded a video of the ball going through my defender in order for the opposing team to get the ball with a few seconds left on the clock. I had 3 defenders under the basket and Steve Nash took the jump shot and missed. I went for the rebound with Carmelo playing as the Knicks and the ball went through Amare's chest while Chandler watched back into Kobe's hand. It was really disappointing to see. I saw stuff like this in nba2k12 as well. I was hopeful that things like this would be gone from the game.NBA2K is the standard of sports games period.Comment
