3pt Specialist/Scoring can help you get points easily, but Athletic helps you to grab rebounds during the Rookie Showcase. If you are going for a high pick then Athletic is probably better but you have to know how to drive to the basket.

i like scoring better for the showcase/trying to get drafted high

i started with a athletic but my dude was blowing easy layups he couldnt hit anything and he wasnt that quick...atleast scoring you have a decent midrange game to help you get points

        A few questions:

        1) Did you have to pre-order the game just to have the Dunk Contest and 3PT Shootout in the game? If so, then I have to say that's a major disappointment, as I'm yet to purchase the game.

        2) When will this patch come? I'm hearing about the starter-sub glitch and the ASW glitch, and it concerns me.

Currently enjoying my 3-pt specialist at the Blazers... Just wondering what sig move should I get now. I have deadeye lvl 1 and gatorade pack. Should I go for Deadeye 2 or a defensive sig like Pick Pocket?

Kind of annoying playing PG as a PF..
This has happened to me in two games out of 40
this repeatedly happens to me as well. Myplayer is a 6'2 PG on the Hornets. I usually get subbed in mid 3rd quarter and is not subbed out the remainder of the game. i would be moved around from pg, sg, sf, and pf....

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

I'm so conflicted. Here's my guy.

                  Name: Joseph Lamb
Position: SG/SF - Three Point build
Drafted 3rd Overall by the Wizards.

My first season was typical. I played key games and a few in between. I ended with roughly 12 points per, 2 boards, and 1 assist. I was the proverbial sixth man and landed an All Rookie 2nd team.

I start year 2 and the team was terrible. I played for a month or two and demanded a trade. Low and behold, I landed on the Knicks and I've been disappointed.

                  Our lineup.
                  PG: Delonte West
                  SG: Iman Shumpert
                  SF: Melo
                  PF: Amare
                  C: Chandler

                  6th man: Me
                  7th: Luis Scola
                  8th: Chris Andersen
                  9th: Marquis Daniels
                  10th: 50ish overall pg
                  11th: 50ish overall sf
                  12th Steve Novak

Our team is so thin. We are 37-36 or around that and are battling for the 7th seed in the east. I'm conflicted because I'm not sure if I really want to tackle the playoffs where I would face the Bulls or Heat in round 1.

My stats in year 2 are 14.5 points per game, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. I'm on track to win 6th man of the year award.

I know exactly why this happens. It's because of the dynamic goals that tells you to "Bring your team within 5 or 10 points" and let's say it tells you to do this early in the 2nd qtr. Well if you don't, the "coach" will force you to stay in the game until you do it even if the CPU goes up by 30 with no chance of you accomplishing it which causes you to never get a rest and completely out of stamina at the start of the 4th qtr and the goal being "In progress". till the end of the game.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

The way the cpu decides the rotation in this game makes absolutely no sense at all. I want to play my career with the raptors but for some reason the cpu seems to want to leave rotations so that I have no real front court depth. I've tried boosting the attributes of the players I want to get into the rotation prior to doing the rookie showcase, (I save and quit in the 4th quarter to make sure I end up with the Raptors.) Here is an example of what I am seeing.

                      PG Lowry 83 PG 35min
                      SG Derozan 80 SG/SF 35min
                      SF Fields 72 SF/SG 31min
                      PF Bargnani 80 PF/C 35min
                      C Valanciunas 75 C 36min
                      6 Calderon 72 PG 18min
                      7 My player SF/PF 12Min
                      8 Terrence Ross 71 SG/SF 10 min
                      9 Alan Anderson 64 SG/SF 9min
                      10 Linas Kleiza 65 SF 8min
                      11 John Lucas 63 PG 7min
                      12 Amir Johnson 72 PF/C 4min
                      Bnc Davis 69 PF/C
                      Bnc Acy 63 PF/SF
                      Bnc Gray 63 C

My big gripe is I am trying to get both amir johnson and ed davis more playing time, but seems like whatever I do I cannot get them very high into the rotation. I have had amir rated a 75 before and lowered valanciunas to like a 72 but still valanciunas started and amir was like 10th in the depth chart. For some reason I've had more success getting acy in the rotation than davis, it's just very annoying because this rotation tends to leave me severely undersized against most offense, not to mention in this example the only ones who can play the 4 or 5 are my player and amir and amir is only getting 4 minutes despite being rated higher than most the players on the team. Also I feel like I could give Lucas a 45 rating he will still be in the rotation.

Just wondering if anyone is having issues like this with their game as well, I know can be a small issue compared to other things in the game, but just annoying when your team's minutes don't get distributed well. Also I know I can request more playing time for player on my team, but usually they only get 5 minutes more and this doesn't help when I need Ed davis to also get in the rotation.

When 2K selects the MVP do they also count in the number of wins the team has? My Hornets team is 27-4 and the Heat is like 14-15 (they started the season with a 3-9 record, too) but I do not see Lebron James in the MVP voting. Instead it goes in this order:
                          Me
                          Anthony Davis
                          Eric Gordon
                          Ryan Anderson
                          Dwight Howard
It's funny cause even Ryan Anderson has more votes than other stars in the NBA.

Well obviously a player is more valuable to a team if they're record is far better, say if you and LeBron are averaging the same stats, of course they're going to pick you because your team record is much better, therefore you're a more valuable player for success.

So, after creating PG at 2k11 and 2k12 i want to do something different. This time i made a 7 footer (center/athletic).
The sixers drafted me and after 30 games i became a starter at the 4 with Bynum as center.

Jason Richardson and Nick Young are the biggest ballhogs in this game.
They won't pass the ball and once they get the ball they are going to shoot it after thousand dribble moves..

Which attributes would you increase or which signature skills would be the best for me?

Trying to get the following ratings up first: Hands, Lowpost Offense, Strength.

What would you guys do? Any tips?
Do i get more VC when i raise the difficulty?

I dont really like the MVP voting system. I dont mind the best player on best team voting style. But, usually there are 2 or 3 players from the same team in the top 5 despite stats. In my 8th season, Durant/Westbrook/Perry Jones is on the MVP list.
