I don't get to chanubody that's the problem, the gm just says to get something we have to give something up, then says always think what can you do to make this team better, I never get the option to choose 5 players. Im in my third season and I only trade I've had was in my rookie year like 10 games in

Wondering if someone could help with me with choosing a sig skill set =)
I'm in year 3 and about to start round one of the playoffs with the Bulls.
      Our lineup is:
      D. Rose (STUD!)
      Jason Terry
      Myself
      Boozer
      Robin Lopez

I'm a 3PT spec SF rated 85 overall and avg 20 points/7 boards/7 assists and 2 steals. Just won the MVP.
      Currently my sig set is:
      -Spot-up shooter
      -Dimer
      -Scrapper
      -Gatorade pack
      -Anti-freeze

Noah went out 2nd to last game of the season for 8 weeks =(
We're playing the Pistons who have Greg Monroe who's an absolute offensive beast in the paint and a maxed out rebounder, and they also they CP3.
Strangely enough CP3 doesn't bother me too much since him and Rose will be battling one another during the entire series. The real problem is Monroe, I played the Pistons earlier in the season w/o Noah and he destroyed us with easy buckets in the paint along with gobbling up the majority of rebounds.
I play on Superstar on 9 minute quarters. I play a Larry Bird style type of game. I'm thinkin' of getting interceptor as I'm goin be doin my best to live in the passing lanes to Monroe.
      Thanks for any help =)

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

Just had one of my best games against the NYK. Last time we barely beat them by 1, but this time we blew them out, 106-82.
I had 36 pts and a career-high 26 rebounds, 6 of which are offensive rebounds. I had more rebounds than the entire Knicks team had (24). 4 other Celtics scored in double figures, with Pierce going off in the 4th quarter, scoring 15 of his 17 in the 4th.
Carmelo Anthony went off as well. He had 24 or 27 points at the half and finished the game with 47 points. That's the most points I've seen the CPU get when I play. Surprisingly he shot at an efficient 22-38, 57.9%. Only 2 other Knicks scored in double figures, but they only scored 11 and 10. Nobody else attempted more than 10 shots for the Knicks except for Anthony.
My team is on a 5-game winning streak now. We (Celtics), the Heat and the Thunder are constantly fighting for the #1 spot in the power rankings. None of us had more than 20 losses yet.
I'm averaging 1.8 bpg right now, leading the league alongside Brook Lopez. For some reason, though, I have not been able to block a shot for 3 consecutive games. I guess I have to be more aggressive on defense or else I'm going to fall behind Brook Lopez.

Trading logic is really mystifying this year.

My PG was just traded(from the Hornets) to the Spurs for a '14 2nd round pick.

              Nothing more.

I admit, I was purposefully getting Monty upset at me when I was on the floor, and I told the GM he built a sucky team... but a #10 overall pick overall traded for a 2nd round draft pick from the Spurs.... really?

I personally would add Deadeye in place of Dimer, and Bruiser in place of the Gatorade skill.

Deadeye with spot-up shooter is a great combo covering all outside/perimeter situations and the Bruiser skill will really help you as you battle inside and on D. (assuming you play like Bird on off ball and defense).

I actually think that would make a good story, especially if you became a star (which you most likely will). Popp whipping an immature lottery pick rookie into shape and the rook becoming a star.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

after winning the championship and the finals mvp for the first time in my third year, surprisingly Rockets(my team) wasnt on the list of teams offering me a contract. I decided to move on and sign with the best team and the one that gives me a player option - portland. They have a sick roster, their 12th man's rating is 76.

                    roster

                    pg - lillard 92
                    SG - wes matthews 87
                    SF - Nic Batum 89
                    PF - jj hickson 82
                    C - me 99(maxed out)

lillard, batum and hickson are in their last year of the contracts and portland had 26 million in capspace with 3 bird years on all 3 of them. I am assuming they will bring back either lillard, hickson or batum/hickson which makes sense. Even if they dont they have a 80 PG(1st pick this year), 80 PF(2nd pick last year got in a trade with boston) and a 79 SG with high potential all should be in their mid 80's by next season. no matter who stays or leaves the blazers are set for the next 5-6 years.

glad to be part of a team where I don't have to do everything for us to win. Good times.

My only gripe with this mode is the fact that I'm a 6'1" PG that starts at the shooting guard position. When Nash was injured, they gave me the PG starting spot. It's just lame because I went through all the trouble of maxing my player out, only to be shafted and put at the 2 spot, where I often have trouble defending taller shooting guards.

Is there anything I can do to take the PG position back? I just talked to the GM and said I don't really like playing with Nash, so we'll see if anything changes. I wish they would realized that the PG scenario on LA is stacked right now, and get rid of Nash for a nice SF, since Jamison is playing like a 60 year old.

                        1. Does your player automatically retire after completing so many hall of fame milestones? I've heard that, but not sure.

                        2. I'm a 7 foot SF on the Blazers. What sort of offenses are good for all-around small forwards? My goal is basically to be a 30 points, 10 boards, 10 assists per game caliber player.

                        3. What ratings should I really focus on first?
                        1. No you aren't automatically retired after completing the HOF milestones.

                        2. A spot up jumper would be good for a all around small forward, equip dead eye, and spot up, you should be good. If you want assists, raise your passing attribute.

                        3. Mid Range, Rebounds, Passing.

First time poster, I made a SG 6'6"230. I am on the Kings starting as a SF. I've played 75 of the 82 game regular season thus far and am averaging 28PPG 8RPG, and 11.5APG. I am currently the front runner for MVP. Rated an 82 overall, thus far I've maxed out my speed, vertical, dunk, midrange, and 3. Was wanting to see if any of you ever play the black top mode as I was ready to give that a look soon. I've got a PS3. Anyone get their player up to a 99 yet?

Quick question as well, despite being able to get to the rim fairly easily and not having alot of trouble finishing, I can't get to the free thrown line hardly at all. I've got the level three finisher, and the posterize signature, and a 99 dunk, and 95 layup, yet I can go in there, get hacked, and no call ever. Am I doing something wrong? Any of you reccomend using the shot stick in lieu of square (which I use normally) would that help out a bit?

From personal experience, using the shot stick draws more fouls.

Cool I'm gonna give that a shot, just got in the habit of using the square, but that's easy enough. Do you find that your player dunks more frequently as well? Last year I could pretty much take a step into the lane and bang. This year I can still get some contact dunks etc., but not nearly as many as I did last year.
