about the glitch yeah it happens for everyone, no matter how many years you are in this league, in which my case 3 you don't start the all-star game and i agree with you its ridiculous.
No matter what settings hes on he can drop a load of points

HOF is the worst in my opinion it's not hard and everything drops for the other team while yours won't shoot the ball or they all go on cold streaks and just to win sometimes you need to drop a triple double nearly because of all the 3pt the CPU makes especially in the 4th quarters.

Superstar seems to be the best but doesn't fix the issue that's its just easy to drop 45-50 every single night even while you assist your team

On Superstar I contribute about 25 pts and 15 assists a game and we STILL lose. I can only play on All Star this year, because no matter how well I do my team ALWAYS loses.

I blewout the Heat in Game 1 in the semi finals in my first season of MyCareer. I decided to bump up the difficulty and send it to Hall of Fame. I lost Games 2, 3, and 4, and but barely got away in Games 5 and 6.

Game 7 just completely pissed me off. I had a 17 point lead and the Heat just came back Game 5 ECF 2011 style and beat us by 7. I just knew it would happen but I was so pissed. The Heat cut the lead down to 7 and the foolish coach decided to take me out the game and we were then only up by 3. We lost the lead and lost the series.

        I'm so mad.

Quick question guys, which layup package is better for bigmen? rookie bigmen or classic? And is their anymore layup packages that become available for my PF if I increase his layup attribute?

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread

Many people seem to be agonizing over what difficulty or setting to play at. I am going to share my thoughts so that maybe my experiences can help those seeking answers. I don't consider myself to be the "authority" on this, so I recognize some may disagree with what I say, or how I approach this mode, but I do desire to open conversation that will help as many gamers as I can with what I've learned.

No matter the difficulty (pro, all-star, etc) or the setting (default or sim) you chose, eventually you will be able to demolish this mode with your skills as your rating and team chemistry max out...

What matters is the road taken to get there and how comfortable you are with AI cheats to increase difficulty in the short term.

I prefer a team AI that is the least restrictive and most natural. What this means in practical terms is that I am limited in my difficulty settings to the lower three settings; anything more difficult and I start feeling that my team AI is handicapped too much and the game becomes more video-like and less realistic to me. Instead of having to score 20-30 a game to be "dominate" I must start scoring 40-60; etc.

I also prefer a statistical spread in proportion to the current season's. This does not mean that everything in-game will match real life (current game code will not allow this imo) but what it means is that things like winning margins, leaderboard statistics and awards match up. Due to this I use things like the "true-shooting percentage" and "sim" settings to limit and structure what my "gaming skills" would others allow. I am willing to give up points even with the perfect release made, if it means the results are more proportionate to the actual NBA's results.

There is one other thing I've learned over the last few hundred games I've played (I've been playing this mode since 2k10) and that is: I will always need house rules to deal with issues that arise each year.

No matter how good 2k programmers are, there will be bugs and/or failings; it is best to work with what is instead of fighting it and becoming upset and frustrated over time.

Things I do to increase the longevity and playability of this mode is:

1: Make an effort to limit my personal stats to "realistic" boundaries each game - even if this means I lose the game. As an example, when I reach 25+ points, I will, no matter the situation cut myself off from scoring more unless I have "statistical" justification to go over the "norm".

What I mean by this is: I look at the last 5 years of actual NBA stats and I see that the league leaders have 4 or 5 games a season of 40+ pts, so I plan on allowing myself the same for use when I deem appropriate. I don't want 35 games of 50+ points per season, so I impose my "house rule" on myself.

2: I increase my player abilities in a "realistic" manner. Originally MyPlayer (MyCareer) was designed to achieve rapid development so people could then compete online against each-other. This legacy still influences the current model and it causes difficulties as you try to play through many years.

To counter this, I invest my skill points (or whatever they are called this year) in a measured and limiting manner. I do not max out my player in the first two years, because to do so would defeat the mechanism's intent. As I've posted before, I do believe the current mechanism needs tweaking by 2k for future versions of this game, but in the mean-time in order to achieve greater fun in the long-run, I limit my growth in the short-run.

There are many different ways of approaching this mode but I hope this helps those that may not be as experienced as I am in getting the most out of what is there and gives some ideas of how to better approach it.

Sorry for the wall of text. Happy New Year.

Can someone suggest a roster about my career that actually makes (some) sense?

                  Happy new year.

                    I totally agree...

You don't really have to go into every game saying your going to score 50 points and drop 20 assists lol... Sure it might be fun, but, if you don't "need" to "take over" the game then I don't think its realistic to do so...

Hey, who am I to tell someone "how" to play the game, I know each person plays the game there own way and has fun there own way and thats fine by me... For me though I would much rather play the game realistically instead of dropping an *** load of stats game in and game out just because I can...

                              1. Does your player automatically retire after completing so many hall of fame milestones? I've heard that, but not sure.

                              2. I'm a 7 foot SF on the Blazers. What sort of offenses are good for all-around small forwards? My goal is basically to be a 30 points, 10 boards, 10 assists per game caliber player.

                              3. What ratings should I really focus on first?

In a game right now and it is straight up cheese. I'm playing the Celtics on superstar difficulty. At the half we were up 63-45. In the 3rd quarter I saw the biggest cheese of my life by the CPU. This player on Boston named Kevin Kay plays shooting guard (2nd year in the league). He gets 26 points in the 3rd quarter! I'm not guarding him btw, DeRozan is. In the quarter he shot 10/11 including like 4 or 5 threes. One of them was at the shot clock buzzer from just inside half court while he was fading away. And he makes all these jumpers with hands in his face. DeRozan plays almost perfect defense on him and he just throws up shots and they go in. The Celtics had 40 points in the quarter. I hate it when 2k let's this crap happen. Just cheesy **** that the game does to make it close when they getting blown out. And it seems like it always happens in the 3rd quarter. So ridiculous.
