Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Hey all,
I'm 19 games into my career, but I finding it to be unrealistic and would love suggestions how to fix it. Currently as an athletic pg I'm averaging 13.9 PPG 5.5 RPG and 14.8. with my rotation minutes currently set to 41.
Would raising the difficulty make games more realistic?soulpurposepoetic.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
I personally hate to give up lottery pics. I just like the excitement of seeing who they draft.
They gave up Demar? If he was balling, then I'd be upset cause we gave up a good player and a pick
but if he was just aiight...then I guess a pic wasn't too bad to get a guy who is a beast in game
Kidd-Gillcrest: 34gms, 15.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.1apg, .528fg%, .0003pt%,.706ft%
Style-wise, DeRozan and I clashed a lot. I actually wanted them to play Budinger more because with him on the perimeter, I could get a good inside-out game going, but for whatever reason, the coach does not like Budinger.
After playing 1 game with Kidd-Gillcrest, I can see he will work better with me... he actually pulled the trigger on shots and seemed more aware on spacing.
In real life, I like DeRozan because he went to USC, but in-game he and I just did not mix well; I think this trade might be for the better.Comment

Raising difficulty is the equivalent of giving the computer players a 10-50 pt attribute boost, so keep that in mind.
Switching from default to sim setting will give you more fouls called, more emphasis on fatigue, and players following stat-line expectations more...
My athletic PG (starting at the SG) on the Raptors is averaging (off the top of my head): 25ish ppg, 5apg, 8rpg. I play on SS/Sim settings. Also playing on the Raptors is a lot different then playing on the Lakers for example...Comment

Need a lot more info to help you. What do you find "unrealistic"?

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Just played the most frustrating game I've ever played.
I'm on my 3rd game of this MC playing a Def PF. I cant move around myself or I'm sliding all around the court with out doing anything. At one point I'm on the outside of the defender and trying to move out further. I get pulled closer to the basket.
I get close for a rebound and get shoved out of the way or theres no way I can get close.
I'm defending a guy. He moves away from the ball, I move out to him and start sliding around the other side of him. He cuts to the basket for the pass and easy layup.
First time I've played an inside guy, so this is all new and totally frustrating.
This all because I'm a rookie and I totally suck at playing this game?
Any tips or suggestions is appreciated before I have to replace a controller.

I'd also suggest going to sim settings... perhaps allstar as well... keep in mind that unless you limit your development artificially, no matter the settings, over time, your player will dominate more and more.Comment

Da_Czar has a few videos on u-tube talking about defense in 2k12 - those still apply this year, so I would watch those... they really helped me.
One way I practice defending is on drills. I always chose the "screen and read" drill, and strive to get the "great defense" message when doing them. On teams like the Lakers or the Heat, where your matchup in the drill is Kobe or Wade, you get a lot of practice defending.
Hope you don't mind getting this from a "dawg" .. lol.Comment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
I'm starting to think about what sig skills I will buy because I want to upgrade my player big way before season 2.
But from what I see, some sig skills that looks good aren't good because glitched or just not that good.
Don't really know what I will take.
Probably something like Lockdown Defender because I need defense, Spot up shooter (I already have lvl1), Dimer (I already have lvl1).
And the I don't know.
Deadeye looks pretty cool, I shoot quite a lot sometimes, so if it's really effective, I'd be interested.
Bruiser looks cool, but on the paper I think it looks cheated. So that could be good for me, but don't know.
Why not Finisher, even though I don't drive into the paint that much right now.
From what I've read, Ankle Breaker is not that useful, if you upgrade your dribble pretty high.
Shot Creator can be interesting too.
What do you think of Dimer? You think it worths it?
And the others?
PS: I'm PG playing SGComment

Re: Official NBA 2K13 MyCareer thread
Since I won an MVP award, made every all star game in my first 4 years, won the NBA title and the finals MVP, I got nothing else to rush to get. I think I'm gonna play this full season. Not just play the key games. Gonna see how close I can come to averaging a triple double.
Wish me luck!
Edit: To the guy above me, Dimer is well worth it. If you ever played on a team with the player with Dimer, you can see just how valuable it is.Last edited by ltylerj; 01-24-2013, 01:56 AM.Comment

Has going to the right team(s) when requesting a trade works anymore? Or do I still go to a random teamComment

I've only ever requested it once, and they sent me packing to my third option...so I guess in some sense it worked to my liking.Comment
