Anyone get the popup on the nba 2k14 home screen telling you about the mynba2k app for phones and the fb app? I was excited that the app might be up again..but of course I tried to log in and the servers still won't let me...

So why would they be advertised in the game!??

So does anyone have some advice on what the best difficulty settings are for myplayer? In my second season going with All star on simulation and felt I was starting to dominate a little more than I should be and wanted to up the challenge. However the issue is when I moved up the difficulty all of the sudden when my player hits the bench my team tends be getting blown out once I finally get back on the floor.
Basically it feels like turning the difficulty up made my teammates extra ******** and absolutely hopeless without my own player in the game. I've lost 6 games in a row by double digits as a result. Anyone else have these kinds of issues and if so is there any kind of solution? It's a real ****ing bummer that the difficulty options are so limited. Very frustrating that there's no way to adjust individual sliders in mycareer.

Hey guys, sorry if this is kind of a noob question... no, this is definitely a noob question. I am a noob.

I'm playing MyCAREER on Pro difficulty (yeah, I know, shame and self-loathing and all that) and I finally feel like I've caught a stride, but I'm still having some issues on defense. Specifically, my issue is this:

My matchup is ALWAYS able to sail straight past me into the paint without any difficulty at all. Ironically, I have an easier time stopping this from happening if he has the ball just by sticking close and reacting with the left stick, but if he doesn't have the ball and is just trying to get open, he just waltzes straight on past as if I'm not even there. It doesn't matter if I'm right on top of him or standing right in his way, he just moves right past me. I've resorted to just chasing my matchups through the paint and trying to stay between him and the ball carrier to prevent the inside pass, but sometimes I'm not fast enough. And to be clear, I don't mean that they're executing some sort of juke or spin move and burning me, I mean they literally just walk right on past.

Conversely, when I try to move into the paint on offense (with or without the ball), it's like the D turns into a magic brick wall that glides into place to prevent me from getting anywhere (or at least slows me down and forces me to roll around them). Am I missing something here? Is there a button I'm supposed to be pressing? I generally hold down LT/L2 on defense unless I need to move faster, but it doesn't seem to have any effect.

What's your defense awareness and on-ball defense rating?

I had the exact same problem starting up mycareer PG, Taer advised me to start giving more space(2 feet) and try anticipate their moves. Do not use right stick until your sure he is taking the shot. If your opponent is standing still hold LT and body him up and force him to pass. It is pretty tough on offense breaking a guy 1on1 try and use the screens and be more patient, AI does bite on dribble moves but very rare and even if they do the recovery time is so quick. I would suggest practicing your dribbling on shootaround/scrimmage.

My DEF Awareness is at 90 and On-Ball DEF is 80-something. I'm 70 overall so I've poured a fair amount into those stats (and it's helped a lot at defending the ballcarrier and contesting shots, just not at stopping anyone who doesn't have the ball in their hands from going wherever they want). I'm not too concerned about my offensive ability—I'm a SG and primarily a perimeter shooter, so I only ever drive up the middle if I see a good opening, which is rare (but oh so satisfying). I was just using it as an example of what the AI DEF does to me that I'm unable to pull off against the AI OFF.

i would like to have the a ability to save my mycareer mode whenever i want. and save a backup file for it. instead of relying on the terrible 2k servers / autosave. its stupid the way it works right now. why did i just play a game and then get kicked out of the mode without an ability to save the game? why didnt it autosave before kicking me out of the mode? why do you need to contact "the servers" in order for the autosave to work? ridiculous. playing games over again is tedious and breaks all game immersion.

There was a power outage and it occurred while my profile was being saved to the 2kservers. Unfortunately, it corrupted my file. I had already played a season and did not want to lose my info, but I found no solution but to start over. Since then, I've started copying the My Career player to another PS3 profile just in case. Since our profiles are saved on the 2k servers, I'm not sure if this will work, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Is anyone having a weird rookie showcase roster?

I started a new career as I didn't like my first guy, but it had Lebron James, Lius Scola, and Larry Sanders in the rookie showcase. I didn't think much until the draft, when Alec Burks was the #1 pick, the LUKE Haragray from ND YES that happened, Lebron wasn't picked until the 9th spot and he was age 27. How does this happen? I then simmed and checked the stats of the heat as they weren't the ones who drafted him and nope he wasn't there, there leading player was *******,,*!?* (Yes the symbols, not an explicit word.)

I have tried restarting a new one and every time I still see Lebron in the showcase instead of Anthony Davis, Damion Lillard, and the likes, who were there the first time.

Please help!! Really would like to get back to my player

TEAM DEFENSE ****ING SUCKS IN 2K14. I am on the Chicago Bulls and Noah and Boozer don't attempt easy blocks when people are headed their way. They allowed Jordan Crawford to make an easy layup. Yet when I go to the basket everyone recognizes I am wide open and being to crash to defend. Deng allows people to back door him for cuts easily. The defense for the USER never pressures the ball handler even after countless shots have been made. Yet if I make more than two shots against the defender they adjust and more closer to defend me. I am chalking this up to a AI level difference between the CPU and User. This is terrible. And don't let me get on the rating system. Why is it even used. There are obviously many factors that affect the rating system yet you can't improve on them with points. Best and Worst game on the market right now. I'm convinced the people who created this didn't play basketball and their R&D department needs to be fired!!!

2K13 My Career; my rookie contract expired: in that time my player was a 3-time All Star, 3-time All-NBA, 2-time All-Defense, averaging 22/10/5 so far on the Hornets and won 2 championships and 2 FInals MVP!

However in the offseason, the Hornets didn't offer me a contract extension, so I signed with the Lakers. I've played 2 games in my fourth season and it is awesome playing with Kobe, Matthews, Gasol and Howard in the starting lineup, especially!

Can anyone help me? I started playing this again and I made a new player with updated rosters. I played the Rookie Showcase and got drafted, but now it freezes whenever I try to play a game.

What do I do?

I just got this game for my PS3 and started playing it with my created character. I played through the first season and starting the 2nd. I go to edit my player and change his clothing, gear, etc. but there is nothing in there to purchase when I click on the closet, gear, etc. Just a blank screen and says press X to select. Any idea how to fix this issue? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I know I'm real late to the party haha. But I had an amazing game yesterday late to thanksgiving dinner because of it! Haha but anyway I'm a rookie 80 ovr pg on the lakers. 1st game of the nba finals against the heat I dropped my first career triple double! 72pts 12 reb and 11 assists. I was so pumped set the tone for the finals. Barely got an skill pts/vc though only barely 200 I was very disappointed about it but I still got the triple double on the biggest stage of them all. Even more satisfying being that I came in 2nd place in MVP vote to lebron.

Wooooow. Check this 1 out.

Right so I get drafted by the Celtics. First game away to the Raptors. It's the 4th quarter , around 50 seconds left in the quarter, we're down by 2. Rudy Gay steams to the basket for a lay up, misses, I get the rebound, sprint up court, too much traffic so I fall back and pass to Rondo. He holds onto the ball untill there's 5 seconds left on the clock, and no word of a lie, under no pressure whats so ever he straight just up PUTS the ball on the floor, turns around, and walks off with his hands on his hip shaking his head while the raptors get a lay up on a fast break NOOOOOOOOOOO what are you DOING RONDO!! lmao I couldn't believe it

We ended up losing by to.

So all in a pretty good start I'd say
