They say defense wins championships, and the Toronto Raptors gave the Celtics a lesson in D in Toronto tonight.
They held the Celtics to 40% shooting from the field, in a game where they never took the lead once.
The Raptors shot a outstanding 55% and 15/15 from the free throw line to take the victory 94-75.
The Celtics "stars" did absolutely nothing this game and they're starting to show their age,. Avery Bradley paced them with 19 points, while Paul Pierce had a measly 5 points on 2-10 shooting. Rondo wasn't his usual self, but he did dime 10 assists.
The Raptors "big 3" put in work this game. Terrence Ross set a new career high with 23 points, Derozan had 21 while Bargnani dropped 19 for the game. Kyle Lowry did his assist thing again, dropping 12.
This was a huge win for the Raptors as they make a statement in the east that they are for real. They're now 4-1 and are going on to Detroit to take on the Pistons and Chris Paul.Comment

You're probably right. Honestly I want to trade MKG but thats not realistic. CHA wouldnt do that right now. MKGs game doesnt really fit my offensive style, but absolutely does defensively so if I were able to get Parsons I would slide him to SG..or..start Garcia and have MKG be a spark off the bench until I learn how to use him better.
I like having a big team that can shoot. 1-5 all having a good mid range game and decent outside game. Then run the drive and dish all day.
Defensively I like to man up, high pressure with bigger players for each position.
So far Kemba is undersized but no way Im trading him! Henderson is cool, and I like his game but he's not necessarily big. MKG is what he is. KMart isnt really big either but he plays big IMO. C.Frye can spread the floor (not worth squat defensively, but a decent rebounder).
If I was able to pull a reasonable Parsons deal that would really help my size situation. Plus he can shoot and is 6'10", so it'd be a task shooting over him.
He fits my style more that MKG does, but I dont want to make a cheese trade.Rather than complain about life, take responsibility and do something about it..Comment

like i said, i have only played 2 games in my association. But from what i can tell between Jennings and Ellis's speed there are plenty of open big men down low. Ive maybe ran a post play once or twice with Gooden off the bench. Also, if you throw Illy and Dunleavy in the lineup you have a lot of firepower beyond the arc. I think a post game will just slow this team down. They are one of the best teams to literally run with.Comment

If I were you I wouldnt touch the starting 5 either. I like your set up. Speedy backcourt, big floor spreading front court. Only thing I would suggest is maybe getting some heftiness coming off the bench. That way if you need it you got it!
You do have a small backcourt but you have ALOT of speed also, so I cant knock you.
Only thing I will say, as someone who does the same..Live by the 3 die by the 3..(Im more midrange but same concept)

working with the mess the magic are i made several moves
traded away nelson and 1st round pick for tyson chandler and knicks 1st round pick
signed greg oden in FA
and sent turk knicks 1st round and ayon for wilson chandler
also picked up drummond from pistons to add young talent in the C position
also made some smaller trades that i cant recall atm
lineup

sg: afflalo/corey brewer
sf:wilson chandler/ mike miller /harkless/ james jones
pf: tyson chandler/harrington/ nicholson
c: oden/ drummond
currently sitting at 7-10 which isn't bad considering
loving the new total sim leading the league in Offensive rebounds crashing the glass big timeComment

Started my hornets association. Traded aminu and a 2014 1st to brooklyn for brooks and Childress
Moved brooks to start at SF for me. And I'm thinking of putting Vasquez as my sixth man and make rivers a starter.
Davis is very fun to play with and can get double doubles easily.
I want my team to focus around brooks and Davis. May trade away Gordon though.Comment

Kemba Walker has officially made himself our go to guy!
I traded Sessions to HOU because he was unhappy with his playing time. Lin is hurt and HOU needed a decent PG. I didnt realize after the trade that we played the Rockets immediately! I didnt want trade Sessions, I really liked how he ran the 2nd unit but his ratings kept dropping so I let him go. To my surprise here we are playing the Rockets & ofcourse Sessions is starting. I know this is a video game, but the way Sessions was attacking felt almost vengeful like! Him & Walker going at it all game! By the 3rd qtr Kemba was gased (I didnt have a backup PG anymore). So by the beginning of the 4th we're down 13 & Im thinking I really messed up trading Sessions. Kemba comes back in the game and GOES OFF for 16 4th qtr points, 4 stls, 6 ast IN THE 4TH!!
So its 88-87 HOU is up. Kemba calls a pick from KMart, Sessions gets caught up and Kemba sinks the easy 12fter. Cats up 89-88, 2.1 seconds left. HOU wants to get the ball to Kevin Martin, but I double him with big men so they give it to Sessions! Kemba gets there late & Sessions gets a clean look...no good Cats win!
Kemba finished with 22pts 14ast 6stl
Then Pacers came to town. DJ got seriously owned! 34pts 8ast 2stl from Kemba. My only complaint before Kemba's break out was who was our go to guy in the clutch? And Kemba answered big time!

I know you are simming, but what kind of system are you running? By the way your lineup is formed I would say you'd have to be a slow grind it out inside out team? Or maybe a defensive powerhouse? With T. Chandler and Oden anchoring the paint you could run the 3-2 all day long.
