We're definitely going to try! I dont want to look ahead just yet but our new season goal (old one was to get to the playoffs and win 1 series) is to atleast challenge MIA (looks like thats who we'll play), Honestly if we can just be competive each game I'll happy. But it will be really hard to sit through 4 blowouts I play 11 min qtrs

      Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread

Trailing by 13 entering the 4th Quarter, Houston looked to be well on their way for an opening game loss against the Sactown Kings. But Jeremy Lin, the miracle maker he has become since stepping into the league, had a story of his own to tell. After a back and forth first half of the final quarter, Jeremy Lin and his H-town rocketeers levied an assault against the Kings that was seemed too good to be true. But as the final seconds ticked away, reality sunk in, and the rockets were able to pull out a 103-100 win as Jeremy Lin 35 point performance did not go wasted.

Kevin Mchale wasn't happy with his team's performance on the defensive boards, the former forward despite his team winning, laid into them during the post game talk and said 23 offensive boards was not acceptable. Some NBA analysts were surprised as this team is rather small, but Mchale is trying to get the team to buy into the concept nothing is beyond their means as men.

      Key Player Stats

      Kings
      M. Thornton- 30 pts, 5 rebs
      J. Salmons-23 pts
      D. Cousins- 9 pts, 12 rebs
      T. Robinson- 8 pts, 20 rebs
      T. Evans- 7 pts, 6 rebs

      Rockets
      J. Lin- 35 pts, 4 rebs, 11 asts, 4 stls
      K. Martin- 19 pts
      P. Patterson- 10 pts, 7 rebs
      R. White- 8 pts, 6 asts
      C. Parsons- 8 pts, 11 rebs
      O. Asik- 4 pts, 10 rebs

Will's Beastly Performance- Thomas Robinson in a loss was wiping the boards impressively, totaling 20 rebs and just being an active particpant on the offensive end

Will's "This Ain't Preseason no mo'" performance- Tyreke Evans was bricking shots from any distance from the hoop, and didn't do much to impact this game

Will's Player of the game- Jeremy Lin showed up and showed out in his first game with Houston, proving all the naysayers wrong and prove he's worth the money.

In related this ain't "sim news" the Rockets were offered Tyson Chandler for 2014 1st round pick and Marcus Morris, team officials turned down the trade for obvious reasons, primarily because it ain't sim

I started my Association with the Cavs but put LeBron back on that team lol.
I traded him for Kyrie, Alonzo Gee, C.J, all my picks, Varjao.

I override the trade but I did try to make the trade a bit realistic lol.

"C'MON SON", realism went out the door the second you thought about trading LeBron back to CLE. But hey, it would be interesting and Im not being sarcastic at all homie. At least you know its not realistic, keep us updated!

Fellas, need some draft pick insight. I'm the Magic and managed to luck into the #1 pick (the Hornets are drafting 4th, thankfully), and right behind me is the Hawks drafting #2.

The best two players in the draft are Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad, clearly, but I'm not sure where to go. Whoever I don't pick is likely going to my division rivals, the Hawks, and they need a SG more than they need a C/PF.

I'm likely going to take Noel as seeing I'm the Magic and historically we take big men-Shaq, Dwight-and I really want one to actually stay with the Magic the majority of their careers.

But I got a feeling that Muhammad is gonna be a gamechanging Superstar while I'm certain Noel is gonna be a star, but uncertain if he can develop into a Superstar (though I think I can develop him into that).

So, fellow draft junkies ... should I draft Noel? Muhammad? Trade away the #1 pick for more picks (I need help being the Magic after all and the top part of this draft has some talent but I don't feel it's the prudent move), or should I trade the #1 pick for players (which I can't recall happening in modern NBA history ...)

            Any thoughts are welcome.

                    Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread

Things just keep getting rougher and rougher for my F-draft Brooklyn Nets. I have now dropped 3 of the last 4 games and my record stands at a dissapointing 8-11 which is good for 10th in the Eastern Conference. And with a 29 game season it puts me in a hard spot to try and clinch a playoff spot. Detroit and Orlando hold the 9th and 8th spots in the standings at 12-14 so it is very feasible for me to get in, it will just take some focus and work.

Now as for the last 4 games here are some scores and recaps.

                    Warriors-87
                    Brooklyn-83

Brooklyn we don't go hard would be the proper rap lyric for this game, ish was terrible son. My inside game was absolutely awful and Okur and Dirk destroyed my combo of Taj and Gortat on the low blocks in just about every category. Louis williams was the only one to show up for me with 27 point, and all of those came off desperation 3s in the 4th.

                    Utah Jazz-83
                    Brooklyn-75

Yet another awful game. Louis williams had 27 for me again and was really my only offense except for a few threes drained by nick young. Waiters played a good game off the bench in this one with a season high of 11. However things just didn't go my way for the inside game and rightfully so. The jazz are stacked with Griffin and Chandler down low and owned me. Not to mention Wesley matthews torched me for 26, griffin had 23 of his own. At this point I'm beyond frustrated as Cp3 just hasn't been facilitating anything for me and its due to me just forcing it.

                    Detroit Pistons-76
                    Brooklyn Nets-83

Finally I am able to grab a win to give my team a glimmer of hope and honestly this was a very well played game. Cp3 was awful shooting 3-11 but tossed 14 assists, exactly what I've been wanting out of him passing wise. Louis provided his usual spark with 23 pts. And surprisingly my inside game decided to show up as Taj Gibson dropped 18 pts, 10 reb. Parsons and Gortat also played great D. Jeremy lin was the only player that yielded noticeable results for the Rockets as he dropped 20 on me. This game instead of starting off first quarter coming off screens and shooting I decided to work the pick and roll from the start and it worked tremendously.

                    76ers-84
                    Brooklyn-80

This game just killed me to even play. My team played absolutely awful and really I'm at a loss as to what's going on with this squad in the past 6 games as I can't get anything rolling. Cp3 and louis williams were there usually selves both dropping 18 but that was really all that happened. Bogut and Gooden killed me down low all game (both had 11 rebounds) and Tyreke Evans had his way with me by dropping 24.

My frustration level is at an all-time high with this team right now, with the playoffs around the corner its the worst time to be performing like this. I figure if I can at least win 6 of my last 10 ill sneak in with an 8 seed but we will see what happens.

To make it worse my buddy with the Lakers is now 10-8 with 7 straight wins as he started off 3-8. his team has steph curry, harden, kawhi leonard, T-Rob. Forgot who he has at center.

Wish me luck yall, I'm takin the night off from this association to drink my woes away, hopefully I can get a win in before work tomorrow morning.

                    I'm out this mug.

I'm using Super Mario _29's draft class, on the PS3. His is among the top rated so it should be easy to find ... he has both the 2013 and 2014 classes so far. They're really, really good, he went all out on them as far as details go.

Saw the post in the trade thread, thanks for the insight on that ... freakin HATE sending anyone to Miami but it's a decent idea to explore. Thanks

Jeremy Lin after experiencing his first loss as a Rocket to the Hawks in blowout fashion, had possibly the most important game of his career as Rocket in just his third game with the club. Houston welcomed the Knicks to town and J. Lin was geared up for this game and so were the rest of the Rockets. They were able to win convincingly 104-96, Jeremy Lin leading the way with 26 pts, 9 assts, and 5 rebs. They improve to 2-1 on the young season and are starting to gel around Lin and Martin, who are the feature players of this team and who the Rockets GM hopes to build around for the future.

                            Key player Stats

                            NYC Knicks
                            J. Kidd- 22 pts, 6 rebs, 12 asts
                            C. Anthony- 20 pts, 8 rebs
                            A. Stoudemire- 15 pts, 6 rebs
                            T. Chandler- 14 pts, 11 rebs

                            Houston Rockets
                            J. Lin- 26 pts, 5 rebs, 9 asts
                            K. Martin- 25 pts
                            P. Patterson- 12 pts, 5 rebs, 2 asts
                            O. Asik- 5 pts, 12 rebs

                            Player of the Game
                            J. Lin-He showed up to prove the Knicks should have matched the Rockets offer

                            Unsung Hero of Game
Asik- He wiped the boards and was a defensive bulwark for the Rockets

                            Disappointing Performance
A tie goes to J.R. Smith and Carmelo. Carmelo started off hot with 12 pts in the 1st quarter, didn't hear much from him in the final three. J.R. was 1-12 on shooting and looked hesitant all night.

                              Disappointing Performance
A tie goes to J.R. Smith and Carmelo. Carmelo started off hot with 12 pts in the 1st quarter, didn't hear much from him in the final three. J.R. was 1-12 on shooting and looked hesitant all night.
Damn, J-Kidd scored 22? Step up on defense there J-Lin ... need you to represent.
                              Any comments are welcome.
