Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
Fellas, need some draft pick insight. I'm the Magic and managed to luck into the #1 pick (the Hornets are drafting 4th, thankfully), and right behind me is the Hawks drafting #2.
The best two players in the draft are Nerlens Noel and Shabazz Muhammad, clearly, but I'm not sure where to go. Whoever I don't pick is likely going to my division rivals, the Hawks, and they need a SG more than they need a C/PF.
I'm likely going to take Noel as seeing I'm the Magic and historically we take big men-Shaq, Dwight-and I really want one to actually stay with the Magic the majority of their careers.
But I got a feeling that Muhammad is gonna be a gamechanging Superstar while I'm certain Noel is gonna be a star, but uncertain if he can develop into a Superstar (though I think I can develop him into that).
So, fellow draft junkies ... should I draft Noel? Muhammad? Trade away the #1 pick for more picks (I need help being the Magic after all and the top part of this draft has some talent but I don't feel it's the prudent move), or should I trade the #1 pick for players (which I can't recall happening in modern NBA history ...)
Any thoughts are welcome.Comment

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
OMG/.....All I need to say is Rajon Rondo....absolutely outrageous. Ive never played a game so dominated by a PG ever. We beat the Pistons to improve to 10-2 by a score of 84-70. Rajon Rondo did this....19pts 18ast 3reb 2stl.......WOW he was crazy...the Pistons had no answer. Millsap was also very good scoring 18pts 7reb. Fab Melo answered his best line last game with a better line this game with 10/3 with 2 ast and 2blks. Randy Foye struggled with hit shot only scoring 4pts on 2-11 shooting. Jared Sullinger is getting outplayed big time by Melo and my even be on the trade block if he cant get it together...When hes on the floor hes getting out rebounded and cant stop the offensive PFC/C. Weird cause hes getting more minutes/touches since Millsap trade just off the bench but looks like a completely different player. I just cant get over Rondo's dominance here...anyways here are some Stats:
Rondo - 19pts 18ast 3reb 2stl
Millsap - 18pts 7reb 1stl
Pierce - 12pts 2reb 1blk
Lee - 11pts 2reb 2ast 1stl
Melo - 10pts 3reb 2ast 2blk
Green - 8pts 3reb 2blk
Foye - 4pts 2reb 2ast (2-11)
Sullinger 2pts 1reb
Maggette - 17pts
Monroe - 11pts 9reb
Stuckey 11pts 3ast
Knight 8pts 8ast
- Next game is against Miami and I am very excited about this! Possible East Finals Preview Folks...COMING SOON!Comment

Nice man! I love Rondo's game. Stomp the Heat. They lost to the eventual NBA champs, the Nets, in season one of my association. They're weakness at PG and C is how to beat them. If you have one or both of those, you can beat them.Comment

Hmm. Rondo is gonna have to go off again I think but it'll be tough with Felton. Hopefully Bradley can get going too.Comment

Shabazz from watching videos is a physical slasher and scorer. If you have the defensive places already in place, then I'd take this guy as he is a top rate scorer who you prob won't find in other drafts unless you want to tank the 2013 draft and get Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker haha.Comment

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
Mmmmm OK I beat the Heat 100-71 which is the biggest blowout Ive had to far...Im lost lol...every game has been close, 3 buzzer beaters and only winning 1 game by 10 and I come out and play my reserves the entire 4th because I was beating Miami so bad lol....I rly dont get it but I love the result lol. The bench got extra time in this but who do you think was the best player....of course vs. Miami it had to be Pierce who dropped 20 pts in 3 Quarters and added 3 stls. Foye/Green/Sullinger were all very key off the bench and even Rondo had another beast game in terms of assist putting up 6pts 16ast and 3stls (This Guy IS A FREAK PASSER) LOL. Pierce, and Thabo were beast in defending LBJ and held him to only 10 pts, and Lee was a beast defensively getting 3 steals and holding Wade to 8 pts. Here are some stats:
Pierce - 20pts 3stl
Foye - 13pts 3reb 2ast
Lee - 12pts 2reb 2ast 3stl
Green - 12pts 2reb 1stl
Millsap - 9pts 2reb 1stl
Sullinger - 9pts 3reb 2blk
Sefolosha - 9pts 2ast
Melo - 8pts 1blk
Rondo - 6pts 16ast 3stl
Mohammed - 2pts 4reb
Allen - 14pts
James - 10pts 5ast
J. Hill - 10pts 6reb
Wade - 8pts 3ast 2blk
- Next game is the last of the regular season vs. the Atlanta Hawks ! UPDATE SOON
NOTE: Team Chemistry is 100% and all my rotation players up 2 points overall...1st time Ive every accomplished this with Boston so im loving what Ive done w/ The Celtics.Last edited by BlueJays09; 10-26-2012, 10:10 PM.Comment

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
I'd go with Shabazz as he is a scorer from day one you can build around. Noel is premier defensive player we know that already from watching videos of him as he is not just a shot blocker but a good all around defensive player. He'll give you that premier interior defender and from day one he will patrol the paint effectively. He has the potential to be a monster offensively but is he in the same league as Dwight or Shaq? Prob not, I'd say offensively he will be used as Davis was for Kentucky, getting the majority of his points off lobs or dunks. Will he unleash that post game that Davis did in the NCAA tournament? I don't think so.
Shabazz from watching videos is a physical slasher and scorer. If you have the defensive places already in place, then I'd take this guy as he is a top rate scorer who you prob won't find in other drafts unless you want to tank the 2013 draft and get Andrew Wiggins or Jabari Parker haha.
Will Noel be Shaq or Dwight? Not at first. But he's only 19 in game so I think within 3-4 years I could get him to Dwight level at least. Shaq was a monster that will likely never be replicated but Dwight has the tools to be pretty good offensively if he can just stay out of foul trouble on defense.
Shabazz looks like a Superstar from day 1 and reminds me a lot of Tracy McGrady ... I loved TMac when he was on the Magic and I would love to get that scoring threat but I have Afflao sitting there already, he's a defensive lockdown/3 Point shooting type of guy and that's fine ... but I need one of my guards to create on offense and I would prefer that to be at PG rather than SG.
If I can trade Affalo for a decent PG or Center, I'll gladly draft Shabazz and build around him. But I don't think there's a big market out there for Affalo so the safer play is to draft Noel and it fits the Magic in a certain sense since they draft bigtime centers ... but they've been burned by them twice. Maybe the fanbase is so burned out on the idea they demand Shabazz instead?
So. Many. Decisions.

Re: Official NBA2K13 Association Thread
Boston loses the final game of the season, but benched the starters in the last quarter and went with the reserves. The Celtics wanted no injuries and fresh bodies going into this 1 and done Playoffs. Rondo was the player of the game for Boston putting up 16pts 10ast 5reb 2stl in the loss. The Celtics finish the season 1st in the Eastern Conference with a 11-3 record, and Rajon Rondo won the NBA MVP, Jeff Green won the 6th Man, and Doc won the Coach of the Year award. My Rooks Sully and Melo made the 2nd Team Rookie's and I am very proud of that as well. Here are some stats from the Hawks Game:
