Re: CPU Offense question
I agree with this as well. I absolutely hate how all of that garbage is shoved down your throat. I am 36 years old with a family, I have no ridiculous dreams about creating myself in the game and trying to become an All Star while playing for the Detroit Pistons. I don't mind that stuff being in the game, but for it to be so in-your-face and semi-forced on you is nauseating.Comment

Re: CPU Offense question
Man... the game has been out for 4 days now. Wait for a patch, I'm sure they'll fix all this stuff like they do EVERY YEAR. Hell I've even considered just not buying these games until around Christmas or after it because there are always problems with it in the first few months.Comment

Re: CPU Offense question
I agree that there's an issue. CPU seems to be very aggressive and quick with their fastbreaks, while my team takes their time getting back down court and manning up.
Let's see some hustle out there, guys!Playing:

Re: CPU Offense question
Kinda glad I went the rental route with this. I'll see what happens after the first patch and if I get an itch before that I'll go to McDonald's and the Red Box machine and drop 2 bucks.
I've been labbing the last couple of days and the cpu offense; speed bursts/boosts after misses, constant paint attacks, points in paint, offensive rebounds, are a bit overwhelming.
I can play pretty decent defense but, I've played 4 games as the Celtics vs the Raptors and while I can beat the cpu on All-Star sim, there's nothing really sim about how the cpu plays. Landry Fields crossing and spin dribbling to the paint through the defense for dunks? Huh? DeRozan playing a Jordanesque game?
Common scenario: I miss a shot, long outlet, DeRozan vs my 2 defenders. DeRozan blows by for a dunk (if I decide not to control one of the defenders, my cpu controlled defender will give up the baseline every time. Often running toward the backcourt to try to find someone else to defend) or more likely I cut him off, he does some dribble moves and splashes a contested 15 footer. About 5 seconds run off the shot clock.Comment

Re: CPU Offense question
Yep... as I said before this is a Sim game breaker for me... Getting ready to shelf the game until it is fixed.
For those who are saying this does not happen, someone please record their game with CPU defenders rebounding the ball and walking/jogging the ball up the court.
Not only does the CPU fastbreak, but the transition defense in the game is broken and does not follow correct transition defense principles,
User offense is not the problem as I can slow the game down and not fast break, but it's the CPU offense I can not slow down and get to move at a realistic pass after a miss shot... or even a simple turnover... Unless you are Miami/ OKC type of team ALL turnovers does not lead to a fastbreak!!!Comment

Re: CPU Offense question
The CPU is trained to attack in NBA 2k that all it is. If they push the pedal to the medal and they know they can beat you down the floor why not do it? You know what I mean you can't fault the CPU for being aggressive whether it gets out of hand or not.
Next, everybody knows on difficulties above "Pro" the CPU will secretly receive a hustle & speed boost tied to difficulty increase. Slider Tweaks such as CPU hustle/User Hustle & The newly introduced Player Speed sliders to play now (previously just in Association) will justify for such advantages that lead to CPU fast breaks
Thirdly we all know Factory 2K rosters & coach profiles do the game no justice compared to some of these roster makers on the OS boards lately. Between Player tendencies/ Coach profiles & ratings it's a ugly game as opposed to a well put together roster with series of edits.
Lastly sometimes you just have to gameplan if none of the other solutions previously mentioned. Adjust in game to get guys back or practice cutting off a ball handler & transition D.Catch Madden 15/ NBA 2k15 Footage on my Twitch Channel

Re: CPU Offense question
After reading this thread, I decided to pay attention to the CPU players after everyone of my missed shots.
Iv'e played a quarter and a half on All-Star sim, and the ONLY times iv'e seen the CPU do this after a missed shot of mine is when I have damn near 3-4 guys crashing for the offensive board.
When this happens and I don't get it, of course the AI is gonna run. If they see a mismatch, they're gonna exploit it.
When I don't crash the glass, and I actually see people waiting to get back on defense, the CPU WALKS the ball up court and runs plays. I came here to post this after seeing 3 strait possessions where iv'e missed, and the CPU is walking the ball up the court, because i'm not being unrealistic and have 4 guys crash the offensive boards.
One thing I do agree on though is sometimes the CPU will try to spam in the paint a bit too much, but, guess what, if you play good D, it won't work. I beat teams i'm supposed to beat, and I sometimes beat teams i'm not supposed to beat, and I often lose, it's basketball, that's how it works.
If you're a team with a smaller front court, you're going to get ABUSED in the paint. Just ask my Timberwolves in the playoffs against the Lakers. Dwight Howard accounted for about 26 points per game against me, mostly all of them coming in the paint.
Some teams DO average A LOT of points in the paint believe it or not. If it's their strong suit, they're gonna go for it. If you can't stop it, they're gonna score. I just played a game against the Raptors, beat them by 17. They're leading scorer was Demar Derozen with 21. Believe it or not most of his shots were jumpers and free throws. I would not let him in the lane and dunk all over me. He finished like 8-20 shooting wise.
I'm telling you guys, I know you're frustrated with this "fast break" glitch, but if you play basketball, it doesn't happen. And before some of you get your panties in a bunch, i'm not calling anyone out saying they don't know basketball, or don't know how to play it. What i'm saying is, when it comes to crashing the boards on the offensive end, do less of it, unless you have really superior rebounders on your team.
I gurantee you won't see this fast break issue, cause i'm not seeing it.Comment

Re: CPU Offense question
I've noticed this as well since NBA 2K11, one thing I've done is: after I shoot the ball, switch to my PG (usually the player standing closest to my own basket) and run him backwards.... that way when the CPU grabs the rebound and tries to go on fast break, they have to slow down because my other AI players recognize I already have one player back and they start backing down faster too.
Might be just my impression, but try it and see if it helps you guys.Comment
