As usual i took the Off/Def rebond and my player don't keep the ball in his hand and Cpu take the rebond.
i'm agree with your video and i have a video like that: Wellington take the rebond (besides Mutombo nearly took me the Off Rebond i was lucky) and the CPU was not happy so i don't know why Wellington make a bad pass to Ron Harper, the worst possible thing i think if you beat the CPU on rebond.

But those last game i played a game with the sonics against the Jazz and i was surprised to see that Johnson and Kemp took me every possible rebond compare to the bulls!!

And i tried another game with the Bulls 93 or Bulls 96 and i played very very very well triangle offense and Cartriwight or Rodman took me every rebond!! Off and Def

PS: i play only in HOF 4*12

So i discovered a simple thing when you play well, you teammate defends very well and take off reb.

if you don't play well, your teammate are not able to do their job, and CPU can destroy you with big put back, or bad 3 pts, or Bad runner!!

But watch this 3 pt of Hornacek, the fist time i see that in a NBA 2k, he shot after the Buzzer and the 3 pt is good

= Good thing happened when you play good, here, it's CPU who play good.

But while i criticized CPU i did the same thing with Pippen yesterday against the Jazz
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7A5MLY7SaY at 2min28
because i played very well, and in one Quarter Rodman took 7 reb,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMpcWFsGuxk and i told me i love NBA 2k13. But the issue is, i 'm still not able to play 4*12 min in HOF defaut slider because it is to difficult to keep going to play well during 4 quarters and there is a moment in the game CPU will take bad off reb and make every thing it wants to win the game!!

      @PJBrownHeat

I'm not sure how you meant it, but you should consider playing on the simulation sliders instead of the default ones. Maybe you meant the default simulation sliders with no changes, but if not, I'd recommend you switch over.

It doesn't change the rebounding at all.

Glad to hear you aren't adjusting the sliders.

Here's a comparison of each set of sliders in case any one is interested.

Back to the rebounding topic, I think that the offensive rebounding is more of a problem against the CPU than for user vs user.

No .. The rebounding IS overpowered WAY overpowered. Its apart of the CPU cheese the because when the computer is on their huge run PG's start grabbing boards Orr 7 footers and then on the other side they're doing those putbacks dunking over 3 people

It also has to do with the lopsided rebound ratings. On default 2k rosters the offensive rebound rating numbers are way higher than the defensive ones. I believe this was done to try and counteract the low offensive rebounding of 12 (out of box). But ratings + backend tweaks were too much and now its slightly overpowered, but can be corrected offline by lowering the Oreb slider 10 points or so.

to Finish i watched the game 5 bulls vs knicks 1996, and at the beginning of the game they spoke about game 3 or 4 and the bulls took 23 off reb and the knicks only 4, and that's the reason why bulls won the game!!

i just come finish a game hawks 87 (classic) bulls 93 11 off reb for both team.
i lost 128 99 because it was just to fun when i saw pippen with 5 blocks 5 rebonds and 3 steals i finished only for the 5 by 5 and i got it.

Do Wikins is just perfect !!!!

Carr is a little bit too strong.

I hate the rebounding and i box out, I just hate how the CPU is faster then i am. That's what i hope the patch chances. But the rebounding is overpowering, especially when you tip the ball on the rebound. The CPU always get those

The main issue is that besides the overpowered CPU off rebounding, the CPU never boxes out people when they can. That contributes to make it even worse.

I played a game of memphis vs Timberwolves(User) and we got killed on the boards by 25 on HOF the only reason i won is that superb at forcing turnovers was at my best and forced 33 Love hardly ever boxed out and rudy gay tipped the ball till he could grab the ball over 3 white jerseys every other trip

Honestly, I can live with the offensive rebound in the first link. At least the offensive player was in front of the other players.

Now...in the second link, I would be highly upset, especially considering that Dwight Howard had attempted to box-out Wesley Johnson RIGHT before he jumped for the rebound. IRL, Howard might have maintained his box-out position and just let Kobe go after the rebound by himself. Also, he could have plucked grabbed the on the way down without jumping since the ball fell off on the other side of the rim.

I have no problems with offensive boards. I play season mode and only get an occasional BS rebound but its not bad. I usually get between 8 to 12 O.R. per game for both me and the CPU.

Offensive rebounding is horrible. On MyTeam, Chris Paul my point guard, gets alot of offensive rebounds in the paint and sometimes I'm wowed by that happening. Also when players actually box out, theyll have the person their boxing out just jump straight up and get a rebound. (Lebron)

ive just completed 20+ straight games on all star level sim default sliders. and ive managed to keep the cpu team in check with their offensive rebs, around avergaing 9 a game! how?... i simply control the best rebounder on my team when i'm expecting the cpu team to shoot and position him to where he can box out and get the the reb or box out to give my teammate a chance to grab the board. when ever you switch up the to the rebounder, quick defensive assign your perimeter players to pressure outside players, with or without the ball. this often forces tough shoots and sometimes takes the big man out to the perimeter to set screens to help get the guards open looks, thus, taking themselves out of position to getting the rebound.

i would hate to see 2k alter the game too much with a patch because players arent accustom to working on their games and are being force to rethink their strategies. try what ive suggested & tell me what you think.

another side note, learn to challenge shots by putting your hands up as oppose to always jumping to block the shot. this helps keeping you on the floor in postion for the rebound. and you'd be surprise of the success rate of missed shots youll get...
                          I'm a point guard.
If I come into the paint for rebounds they pass it out to the guy I left wide open for an uncontested 3.
When I have all 3 of my big men, C PF and SF in the paint against an opponent SG who gets 4 rebounds OVER my big men and gets it in on the 5th, then I'm pretty sure I played my role, played my position and my big men were playing theirs too.
The problem is that lesser skilled opponents get the rebounds, not our laziness.

We complain because small guards are out rebounding tall, better rated and stronger big men.

If you think offensive rebounds are fine then give your labrodore a pat on the head for me because you sir are blind.

one thing I've noticed that has helped my boxing out - if you press the left stick backward and into the opposing player while boxing out, you are much more effective than just holding the trigger. you will keep him pushed back, and the CPU will often get called for over-the-back.
