Playing as a PG for the Knicks, it's frustrating to see Iman Shumpert, who is a SG, demands the ball at half court and the moment I decided to pass to him, he cut to the paint and I got a turnover.

The only 2 problems I have with passing are slow passes and lobs, Times you do catch the D off guard your guard will throw a super slow floating kind of pass that gives the D time to recover. i wish there was a way to throw bullet passes which would also allow you to thread the needle easier as well(only for like above average passers or players maybe? Lebrons, Nash,Rondo,CP3, Rubio etc)

as for Lobs they are too low line drive, when I throw up a lob and it's a 2 on 1 and he steps up into me, I should lob it above the guys arms especially if it's a smaller guard, I shouldn't have to much of a problem throwing a simple lob over him. Too often they do this fading back jump and can knock it down, Not saying lobs should be 100% but under right circumstances I should complete them more often than not

Passing is not as fast as it should be compared to the defense moving against you. After you have played the game enough there are some things you see over and over and I think it has to do with the way they code defense. Passing is actually connected to the defense being played on you. There are slower pass animations which allow the CPU to recover to a spot to play defense. There are also direct bad pass choices that result in turnover this is done on purpose IMO to create turnovers. I absolutely hate the one where a guy is open you pass and he runs right into traffic for a turnover where if he would have stayed still he was open. There is a reason why the lobs are being thrown low, so they can be defended and so that the game doesn't get out of hand with lobs. I wish there was a way to throw high passes in the air that are not lobs for alleys but high so you center can jump to get it but must come down to gather and then decide to shoot or pass.

2K11 didn't have bounce passes and couldn't pass to a big man in post position, unless he was already being bodied up. Also, everyone and their mother could throw an alley-oop, regardless of whether they had a good pass rating or not. Directional passing was as bad as it now. Lead passing was unrealistic because the receivers got unrealistic speed bursts when catching the ball.

It would help if you would actually explain why you think 2K11's passing was better.

For what? I'm not debating with you lol. I said its your opinion and I have mine. 2K11 passing is better. Only good thing from 2K13 passing is being able to bounce pass.

You can, its still A+X, just not when they are cutting otherwise it will be an alley lob. Lob passes are in, kinda hard to do, but once you figure out the timing and the right spots to do it, you can do it on command, again A+X will throw a lob pass (not always an alley oop pass).

Agreed. The passing go hand in hand with the cpu defense. Hopefully, they address the passing issues in the next patch. It's so frustrating passing the ball with my 6'0" PG. I might have to start saving replays of the ways they make my guy TO the ball, especially during double teams.

The only passing that bothers me is when I pass to an open player and for some reason or another they take off to the basket. They really need to fix that part.

AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED. They need to play putting the passing lanes tendency up by such a high volume because today I turned the ball over like 19 times because of that and the momentum. The ball just KEPT going straight through the players hand , smh...

I can't do sh!t. All my passes, even the easiest, are bad. Yesterday I did a 20 foot straight pass to a guy in front of me with my 97 passing and Dimer sig skill.
Instead of doing a 2 handed quick pass on the player, he almost jumped, did a 1 handed pass bell-shaped that forced my teammate to jump and extend his arms to take it.
When I see some of AI's passes, I want to do the same, it looks cool! I'd love to do that! But I just can't!
Not earlier than 1 hour ago, I tried a simple pass to my running teammate and Humphries came out of nowhere to intercept.
I watched the replay and I just couldn't believe that with a 97 and the Dimer sig skill, I still can't do those passes.

I'm a PG playing SG right now and I want to play PG, but I wonder if it's a good idea when I see the passing game.
Scoring seems to be the only thing you can do.

The problem is the AI knows the pass animation it is going to get in any given situation, and we can only guess and hope we get the animation we want. The game has so many different options for dribbling and shooting, but with passing it just comes down to, 'Gee, I hope this works'. It would be nice to be able to be able to quickly get the ball out of our hands on the pass when we see a seam, or do a manual lob, or do a clean handoff(which is a very basic, easy pass, but is frustrating in this game). Passing, along with blocking, is all too often more random than skill based.

Yeah and these animations are ruining the game I think.
Visually and gameplay-wise.
When AI starts an animation, you can stop it. And a lot of times it's just totally unrealistic.
And visually, it's just ugly. You clearly see the animation starting and it's done very badly.

Yeah this nails it. Spot on. Like you said, when you play a lot the seams of the game start to show a little bit and you notice the patterns that lead to these sequences.

They're annoying but VC must think them necessary because 90 percent of users (and that's being kind) have absolutely no conception of how to play defense.

Yep, this happens all the time. I have no idea who in their right mind thought this stupid mechanic was a good idea. It happens WAY too often. It's one thing to fumble the ball on a bad pass or a really long range pass, but basic passes are fumbled to often. I think the game does this to prevent your open guys from getting easy baskets sometimes.

Yeah it cost me a game . Kicked the ball to a wide open guy for three. No one around him he fumbled the ball then did sum weird spin lost looking animation resulted in a steal.
