I think all these are the result of 2K trying to do too much. It happens far too often to me that I pass the ball to a wide open teammate, he fumbles the ball a bit, makes a shot, and I don't get credit for assist. I am not even mad that I don't get the assist, but it just shows how sloppy 2K is.

Re: Passing is horrible in this game.
Passing in the paint is definitely a problem in 2k13...the interior passing is worse in some ways than in previous nba 2k games.
Below are some vids I made regarding this issue.

The suction and sliding in the pass/catch animations are ridiculous and these are great examples of it.Comment

Re: Passing is horrible in this game.
The problem is (as it usually is, historically for 2K) that the game tries to fix an area that's broken with somethin' that just isn't realistic. For example, they had a problem with the steal rate. Everybody would be reachin' in all game long with no consequence. What do they do? They make it to where a foul is called 90% of reach ins...instead of the realistic answer, which would be to decrease the steal success rate (they actually do have animations that happen where the ball-handler avoids the reach) and allow the defense to get burned if reaching in at the wrong time. Another example: long passes...people were bombin' the ball down court for easy buckets. To fix it...they make long passes go over the receiver's head or (my favorite) the receiver turns into Steve Urkel when the ball gets to him and fumbles the ball around the sideline or something.....instead of just makin' those passes easier to intercept or just a little bit more inaccurate...just like IRL. I just think, if the game needs work in a certain area, they should take the time and think about what would happen in that situation if it happened in a real NBA game. Lol Sorry about the length but that's how I feel."I BALL FOR REAL, YALL DUDES IS SAM BOWIE."

Re: Passing is horrible in this game.
How about the helplessness of your defenders when the CPU gets the ball in the paint? Its like a passing drill, they move it without penalty. Their players do the perfect steal animation at the time I think of the pass, and are already in full motion steal mode by the time my player passes. Similarly, if I anticipate a steal, and time the press correctly, my player misses and I am not only without the ball, but I am in the bleachers.
A bit off topic, but I had the CPU OReb down to 0 on the sliders, and I got outrebounded on the offensive glass 25-4 and 18-6 in consecutive games, with Tyson Chandler, David Lee, Thaddeus Young, and Arron Afflalo (scrapper) on the court as starters, not to mention Asik and J. Thompson on the bench, plus Collison. I mean come on, that is ridiculous. And this is just All Star. I just can't compete when the opponent is getting at least 35 extra possessions per game between the boards and the psychic steals.
I know this is a bit venty, but this is a huge problem, and I am beginning to become frustrated to the point of completely stopping play of this game. If it weren't for my love of throwing oops to Chandler I would. This issue actually stopped me cold about an entire month, and I have recently given it another go, hoping.
Thank goodness The Show is coming out in a month, with sliders that actually work, because I am getting sick of getting cheesed out of wins by the CPU"The designated hitter rule is like letting someone else take Wilt Chamberlain's free throws."

Re: Passing is horrible in this game.
Passing needs a lot of work. Way way way too many kicked ball violations on bounce passes. Too many bobbles on drive and kick, so annoying. Need Lebron type fast perimeter passes around the outside. Interior passes need so much work. Passing overall just really god awful and is one of the top 3 flaws. I thought they said they tried to fix passing? doesn't seem like they did anything besides add the bounce pass then not even test it considering how many freaking kicked balls there are.Comment
