Re: What would it take for you to buy 2k14?

    1. PS4/Xbox720
    2. More photorealistic lighting system (i.e. Gran Turismo, Proyakuu Spirits, MLB the Show)
    3. Defensive focused gameplay; More physicality; better boxouts underneath the basket; interior defense, more aggressive play, increased intensity during playoffs.
    4. Defensive highlights/replays.
    5. Improved Halftime Show. Pregame/Postgame show. Delegate an entire team to simply work on them.
    6. Dynamic/Multiple Championship celebrations (gives users incentive to win multiple championships, and actually look forward to and enjoy post game celebrations. )
    7. Cosmetic - Cheerleaders. Why do they run off the court when the game starts? Keep cheerleaders on the court/out of bounds area, so they can actually "cheer" and "lead."
    Fixes
    NBA2k Defense AI,Footplant, Gameplay
    MLB Show Pitching/throwing
    Madden/Live Animations Walking, Throwing

I'll probably still end up buying it but I really want Association redone to have proper CBA rules, negotiations, player attitudes, trades, etc.

I agree with all of this as well especially the things regarding defense and the photorealistic graphics.

Game has to improve a lot. I got bored of 2K13 this year, I'am just not enjoying myself anymore when I play the game. Too many flaws I can't deal with anymore. Too many things are unbalanced/unrealistic. The passing on it's own almost breaks the game. Wide open players cutting, the Deny Pass setting that is tottally overpowerd due to the slow passing, AI reaching, lack of logic in the post game, unresponsive controls, lack of fouls on simulations sliders. All I see is flaws theses days so I had to just stop playing the game.

It would just slow the game down. It would decrease the FPS. That's also why the audience is so ugly and that there is barely anything going outside the court itself.

Damn, it's kind of a shame to see a lot of people mindlessly saying they'll buy the game no matter what, no offense. But that's the type of thing that makes it so they don't have to improve much because they know people will buy the game no matter what.

In order for me to buy the game new, i'm gonna have to see A LOT of improvement to the passing and the rebounding at least. And less exaggerated dunking. Also less canned animations. Otherwise i'll just buy the game used, which means they won't be seeing profit from it. I will not pay 60 dollars for a game with the same problems. Let's see some improvement and let the series blossom into what it can be.

Core gameplay/fundamentally sound bball>EVERYTHING ELSE(cosmetics, graphics, shoes, crew, etc.)

Re: What would it take for you to buy 2k14?

I've supported 2k for a decade, spending money on their games since the Dreamcast days. But if they release some half-a**ed product again, they won't get my money the next time. If they don't improve the most obvious flaws like playcalling (which they are aware of) and association-logic, I won't buy sh*t.
Which is something 2k doensn't need to care about, since many kids will say "Everybody else is buying it, gotta have it, too.". That's how it works, look at people spending their money mindlessly on one Iphone after another without thinking straight whether it makes sense.
I've seen experiments where they gave people an old Iphone claiming it was the newest one and some idiots actually liked it because it's much faster and the display is definitely better than on the exact same model they have themselves.

That's clearly the direction 2k is heading to. It's a basketball game and people care about a rapper name on the cover? Hopefully EA pulls off a surprise, otherwise I will probably not buy a bball game this year. Not if it's a sloppy arcade game again.

Play calling works fine for me. Even in the Nba plays don't always work out perfectly unless screen or passed to post.

They already have the home team mascot on the baseline doing the worm for the entirety of the game not to mention as you said the "crappy" looking fans. Just cout out 20 "crappy" fans and put in a squad of "crappy" cheerleaders

I'm talking about playcalling, you're talking about play execution. To be more specific: More than half of the plays are simply not working and the AI uses a totally broken logic resulting in only a handful of different plays called by CPU teams even if 50 plays are assigned while the touches tendency doesn't do sh*t. Breaks the game for me. Won't buy a product just because you can buy it anymore.

I'll have to see what they improve. Just curious to hear what it would take for people to buy next years.

If I don't find anything better, which, since that's the reason I bought 12 and 13, is why I'll probably buy 14.

I'm not buying 2k14 because with all my sports games i rotate year to year, so i got 2k11, not 2k12, got 2k13, and will be getting 2k15. It lets me go further in my association modes and appreciate the new version with 2 years of improvements. And of course you save 60 bucks.
