Re: OK enough complaining..who will get NBA 2K14?
Agree with the contact in the paint. If I remember I think the demo had more of a sim feel.
Blocks and rebs I think are way overblown complaints. Adjust your camera angle, box out, and play positional defense instead of jumping for everything. I'm actually a friggn beast on the boards with my big man. At worst, slight tweaks. Curious if these are the only reasons some think the game isn't "sim"? Like yall gotta be more specific. As for me I think this game represents basketball pretty well aside from the overpowered zone D and glitch shots.
Is someone foolish to make this a midnight purchase? Hell nah. 2k has earned that by releasing good games year after year. Anything short of a really dumb dumb move -- like randomly getting rid of Association -- and this is a release-day buy.Comment

Re: OK enough complaining..who will get NBA 2K14?
I still had a much more sim experience from 2K12 than 2K13 aside from the abundance of animations added to the game in 2K13 and the addition of offensive play branching which somewhat held 2K12's half court offense back. There are videos that I still have from CPU/CPU and Player Lock games on 2K12 that blow me away compared to the pickup game style of 2K13.
Aside from the above things though, I was pretty vocal with my displeasure of the direction of 2K13 before the game was even released and the bad taste in my mouth hasn't gone anywhere.
2K/VC went into full assault mode on their editing/modding community and still failed to deliver out-of-the-box. That leaves us with a huge gap that hasn't been filled yet.
I've been away from 2K13 and these forums for a few months, but if the focus for 2K14 can return to realism, customization, and options then I'd be happy to buy it on release day.
If not, then I'm not making the mistake of buying again just to fulfill community obligations. I regret buying the game now knowing that these problems were easily foreseen back in September.Comment

With all the flaws people point out in this game, I still think it is easily in the top 10 of the best games ever.Chicago Bulls
Baltimore Orioles

Re: OK enough complaining..who will get NBA 2K14?
I think if you are a pro sim style player which most of OS is then some if not most of the flaws people point out have been in relation to things that went away from sim side and the ability to create a sim game. Offense was improved by making defense take a backseat. Dribbling control was improved but live ball took a backseat. Actually if your player is rated high enough you can turbo through contact without the need to use the fancy dribble stick much.Last edited by stillfeelme; 06-02-2013, 12:19 AM.Comment

Re: OK enough complaining..who will get NBA 2K14?
Thank you very much... That's the problem now. So many people accept all the flaws and glitches and run back and get the new version of the game. Demos released, then when the game comes out things from the demos are removed. I don't want to hear change camera angles for better defense, I didn't have to do that when I played the demo. Let's not even talk about the months of slider testing people have to go through to make these games playable if ever.
Gone are the old days when people just boycotted bull**** and made businesses change their tune. If people began to do this more I'm sure companies will continue to bring their A game year after year, not every three or so years. Irrelevant personnel, no strategy, no physicality = no money from me. Guess the economy isn't that bad that people are continually comfortable giving away $60 year after year.

Day one Purchase. But i do agree 2K can absolutely Make the PERFECT GAME, but they dont improve drastically because it gives them a excuse to say, oh well we improved this year on something, but they can obviously make the perfect game if they wanted to.Like NBA 2K16 MyTEAM Content? https://www.youtube.com/user/oMarcus2KoComment

Re: OK enough complaining..who will get NBA 2K14?
Originally posted by Rubio809Ok, I've witnessed A LOT of criticism on 2K13, to the point people say they HATE this game. I want to hear from those people with enough balls to say they refuse to give 2K another dime and will NOT purchase 2K14! Personally, NBA2K forum boards are still the most active on this site, 7 months after the release...so I think many are hypocrites and WILL purchase (maybe secretively..lol) yet another version in October. Granted this game requires custom sliders/rosters to be great, but I think this game is awesome and I will continue purchasing.
But you can tell when someone is bashing a game just to be a troll, or when someone is actually being objective and will give a way 2k can improve.
Me, personally I'm buying 2k basketball until they've proven they aren't going with realistic basketball anymore. The game isn't prefect and I'll say my issues with the game on here, but overall 2k has delivered stellar products for years.
As far as 2k13, I just find it funny because last year, 2k12 was the worst basketball game ever, to quite a lot of people on here. Now 2k13 is worse than 2k12. That just seems funny to me. I actually own the big 3(2k11,2k12 and 2k13) on PC, so I get to play them regularly and 2k13 is by far the better product. But this is my personal opinion. I'll probably be called a fanboy but hey it's the internet.Last edited by jersez; 06-02-2013, 01:22 AM.ARE YOU LOOKING FOR YOUTUBE CHANNELS DEDICATED TO THE SIM COMMUNITY CLICK THE LINKS BELOW, AND SUBSCRIBE FOR ALL SIM CONTENT.

Re: OK enough complaining..who will get NBA 2K14?
Hard to answer this before even reading any detailed info about the game.
As of now, unless there is some ground-breaking feature/gameplay/mechanic (current-gen), I think I'll wait until the price drops, and stick with 2K13 in the mean time. It really depends on how much attention current-gen version receives (is there a next-gen version? I'm not updated). But time will tell...Last edited by youvalss; 06-02-2013, 03:47 PM.My Specs:
