Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5

My 2 questions for whether I will play crew or not

    1. Is it a legit arena and not blacktop
    2. Can you get custom jerseys/logos to show up
    Currently playing:

    NFL Head Coach 09 (X360/PS3)
    Fortnite (PS5/PC)
    MLB 22 The Show (PS5/XSX)
    Hogwarts Legacy (PS5)

Re: NBA 2K14 Features Crew Mode - 3-on-3 or 5-on-5

Jrocc dont get me wrong Id love the game to be the exact same way it was in 2k11 but lets be real its not happening. The best case scenario is playing the games in a practice gym. This is what Kspade suggested because he felt it was the only possible way to incorporate it in this little time. So Im doing what I can to make the best of it. Just look at it like your playing in a Pro Am league. These dont go on inside NBA arenas they go on in small gyms or outside i.e Venice Beach and Rucker

Now assuming that a 5 v 5 game is based on NBA rules I really think the mode is fine. IMO no matter where the game is played the 2k14 version will have much better gameplay so this can only be an improvement. If this isn't the case and Im playing a 5 v 5 blacktop game ill be the first to complain.

Now for the Jerseys and Courts I could PERSONALLY care less. I get that alot of you do want them but for me it just adds nothing to the game. Explain why you need that feature and maybe ill then look at it differently but honestly I could care less about being able to use a hot pink Jersey. But like I said these are all my opinions and I understand most of you disagree and that Im in the minority on these.

But to call me not a "Crew Guy" just doesn't make sense to me lol. Just because the option to customize a jersey and arena dont interest me im not a "Crew Guy" ? I played well over 300 games and while we werent the best because unlike 90% of the other teams our players were based us and our actual heights and the best overall was 91 I could confidently say we would hold our own against any team that was created to emulate themselves in real life instead of focusing on whatever it takes to win

Actually, there a couple of courts/arenas hidden in 2K13 (assuming that those make it in the disk) that can be used in this sense:

-Rucker Park - Day (different from Blacktop)
        -Rucker Park - Night
        -Summer Circuit
        -Under Armour Practice Gym
        -2010 All-Star Floor Only
-The Default Player Create a Team Arena
-The old "Attack Athletics" arena from the draft combine is still there, no floor though

I miss those old courts from 2K10, Venice Beach, the Cage, China, Texas, and all the other ones, they were so original and would look amazing. Blacktop then is much better than now with games to 21, Horse?, and all that jazz. Still doesn't go through on how all that content in the past is gone, like the Legends Showcase DLC, would've been beneficial for roster makers.

Speaking of this, I still like the idea from earlier in this thread about court progression. It's too late to add into 2k14 at this point, but imagine it for future games. Think if every crew started out with their home court being some crappy blacktop with chains instead of nets and no fans. Then, as you play more an progress your crew might unlock a crappy high school gym to play in. Play a little more and you unlock an average summer league type gym, or the attack athletics gym; and so on and so forth. Gaining more fans as you go.
"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." - Michael Jordan

Actually, I was thinking like that, but with your fans, your member all have to pitch and combine to play offline and gain fans

            Tier 0: Blacktop
            Tier 1 (500K): Rucker Park
            Tier 2 (1M): Attack Athletics/Summer Circuit
Tier 3 (2.5M): Generic NBA Arena
            Tier 4 (5M): NBA All-Star Arena

Maybe add "Home Court Advantage" and the better the players and fans are, a better chance of winning, lose and fans start to leave.

The thing with Crew is there wasn't a main basis and reason why you wanted to be the best. Now some inspiration and fresh air.

I am tired of explaining it. I been said the mode is an upgrade but it still isn't Crew. I would try it out and everything, but I don't believe it will be anywhere on Crew level from 2K10 and 2K11. That's why we are disappointed because that's what we've been begging for to be back. Not a Blacktop Mode. If it has all the rules and everything, that's fine but it's still not Crew. I mean I am tired of talking about it, so far people are disappointed because this isn't what we wanted. Some people will love the news, but so far, majority of us doesn't. So, if you will be cool and happy w/ it good. Just don't try to tell us how we should feel about it.

I don't remember ever saying you wasn't a "Crew Guy" because I looked at my posts and haven't seen it. Maybe you thought I was referring to you. So, you missed me w/ all of this. If it interests you, good. I know some people was happy about Blacktop in 2K13. That's all good. If you like 2K14's Blacktop Mode then fine. The problem I have is y'all keep trying to basically act like we are acting like brats because we want "Crew Mode". Don't try to make us give 2K a pass for this seemingly inferior "Crew Mode". So far, it's not looking like the mode that was introduced in 2K10 that we loved and still played till the 2K11 servers were shut off.

Venue doesn't really matter , I'd definitely prefer indoor , but if not ill be fine .

I want refs , all nba rules , team jerseys , 4 full quarters , full 5v5 basketball game .

Idk if you saw my idea a couple pages back but what do you think of choosing an NBA teams jersey set to use for your crew. That way you can choose any of there past or present jerseys prior to each game.

That fact that Crew is being addressed after a leave and association not is an example that comes to mind. For a couple reasons, the generic disk space, promoting saving, time consuming, etc.
It's not a LOT of what Crew guys want. In fact, it's not even close (as evidenced by this 39 page thread).

The thing is fulfilling everyone is a big range that can't be completely fulfilled.
This doesn't really make any sense. People just want NBA2K11 style crew. It's been DONE before. There's no "big range" to satisfy, no esoteric and conflicting tastes to appease. 90-100% of Crew fans just want what has been accomplished before, minus the hacks which 2K spent years trying to eliminate. And it's not like there are many folks who are happier with Crew being on Blacktop and a game to 21.

Crew guys are not asking for the world. Making excuses and saying it's hard to please everyone just rings hollow.

But the thing is we haven't seen 5 v 5. We only have seen 3 v 3. We don't know the facts, I'm still saying that its still all opinion based on what 5 v 5 is/would be.
                    We haven't seen 5v5 because 5v5 isn't done yet.

Maybe you haven't been following the news but work on 5v5 Crew didn't start until TWO WEEKS AGO after Team-Up guys refused to accept 3v3 Blacktop as crew. That is damning evidence to suggest 5v5 won't be classic crew-- so no, you're NOT justified in believing it could or will be arena based 5v5 more than guys who think otherwise. Just because neither of us are *certain* doesn't mean your opinion is just as likely to be true given all the evidence.

I'm not justified to say that 5 v 5 will be 2K11 crew, but everyone else isn't justified to say its 5 v 5 Blacktop, since we don't have facts for 5 v 5 to proof right or wrong.

I use facts to decide where my opinion goes and if facts aren't release yet, I guess I have to wait, cause I have all the time I need.
That's where I have to disagree. I don't think you're actually using facts, but relying on the element of uncertainty to justify and propose unlikely scenarios.

I would in fact say that you're ignoring all the suggestive facts and are encouraging others to do the same in order to keep unjustified hope and optimism alive. I'm not sure what the point of that is except that it's fun to be contrarian on the internet.

The facts support the conclusion that 5v5 Crew will be blacktop only. There is *no*, repeat, zero actual fact to support the conclusion it will be a full-featured 2K11 style crew mode in arenas.

"We don't know for sure because we haven't seen it yet" is not a "fact" that justifies your conclusion given all other actual facts and signs.

Say what you want man, I'm a believe it once I see it type of person. 5v5 being a regular Team Up game should be fine with everyone.

And with the fulfilling everyone, I'm talking EVERYONE. Not just crew guys, the roster makers, gameplay, customization, etc.

"the Facts prove that 5v5 will be Blacktop-only."

                      What do you have?
                      -3v3 footage
-Knowledge of 5v5 being started 2 weeks ago

That's it. You don't have significant proof in my opinion to tell me that its GUARANTEED that will happen, not saying it will not, but its not conclusive enough.

Everyone on my team going individually and buying with vc the same nba jersey? Or picking one when creating a team that will still have our name on the back ?

You pick one set when creating a team. It would have all the current / classics and alternate available so you have multiple choices too. So like I pick the Knicks set I can use any of their jerseys

He's saying mix and match clothes from the Closet store like:

                            -Bull Snapback
                            -pink Hoodie
                            -Cargo Shorts

Or that's at least how i think hes going with it. I find it a bit more customizable vs. the bad CAT unis

Now what would be cool is if the Closet-bought jerseys had your name and #.

EDIT: I guess I was kinda wrong... Though I didnt know he was going for a replicating approach.

Ronnie just tweeted that he's passing crew concerns up the ladder, for what its worth. You have to cut 2k some slack. Dev teams from other games would just tell us to deal with whatever they choose to put in their game. If 2k didn't listen, this mode would just be 3v3 halfcourt blacktop.

At least its 5v5 and their obviously still tweaking it if Ronnie tweeted something like that.

I just want stat overlays, fouls, and games to not be to 21. I don't necessarily HAVE to have commentary.
