At least the Social media has its purpose now, unlike in 2k13. Glad to hear this

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread

I don't like the twitter challenges because most of the time I've been playing they talk about not letting me get 5 assist. Well duh that's easy for u when I'm a rookie SF and play very few mins why would I get 5 assist.

Are you trying to say you can not get 5 assists? Or you can't be bothered with attempting to get 5 assists? Getting 5 assists with little play time is very easy. My PF gets 4 assists on average without even trying. I just pass the ball to the open guy and don't try to be the big scorer/forcing shots.

          “3+1=4 Era” in Philly

          Name: Jakobe Richards
          Position: PG
          Play-Style: Athletic
          Age: 20 (Sept. 28, 1993)
          Height: 6’5”
          Weight: 200 lbs.
          College: Houston
          Difficulty: Hall of Fame

          First 15 Game Write-up
          Record: 10-5
          Conference Rank: 2nd in East
          Division Rank: 1st in Atlantic
          Streak: Won 1
          Overall: 83

Side Note: Before starting My Career, I went and edited every point guard to have SG as a secondary position.

At the Rookie Showcase, had a decent game with 14 points, 9 assists, and 3 steals but too many turnovers (7) which probably cost a higher spot and potentially a higher pay. Got drafted by Philadelphia with the 11th pick meaning that Richards (my player) and Michael Carter-Williams (the Sixers “other” 11th pick) would have to share point duties.

The first game was against the Heat, which ended in a loss for the Sixers, but Richards showed some promise with his 9 minutes of playtime. Fast forward to the 8th game of the season and the Sixers finally decided to give in and try to shoot for a new era, the “3+1=4 Era” was about to begin in Philly. (PG Richards (3), PG/SG Carter-Williams (1), and C Noel (4)). The game against the Spurs (Richards first start), Richards posted his first double-double with 14 points, and 10 assists. His big man Noel also ended up with 15 points and Carter-Williams rounded out the “Young 3” with 7 points to help Philly win the game. From then on, Philly went on to post a 6-2 record with Richards in the starting lineup and both losses coming with Richards not on the floor because of fouling out

Along with helping the Sixers to the second best record in the east through the first 15 games, he has also signed an endorsement with Nike, he has broken several career milestones ranging from scoring over 100 points, dishing over 100 assists, and even posting one career triple-double (33 points, 13 assists, 10 steals vs. Raptors). The sky seems to be the limit for Richards and the Sixers if he can cut down on turnovers and continue to do the little things to lead his team to victory and only time will tell if he will be able to solidify his place in NBA lore.

Am I the only one that thinks the defense is way to over hyped. It doesn't matter who the CPU uses to defend you they will stick to you like glue. Which is fine I guess makes it tougher to score I get it. But, the bump you steal the ball cheese pissed me of to the limits. I played 10-15 games offline the game is back in the case. I refuse to play until something is changed. It does not matter if you upgrade your ball security or not. The CPU will bump you and steal the ball. I can't even ISO to create a open shot for a team mate. I don't want easy scoring but the whole concept of skill points is useless if every defender is going to guard you like glue and put up a brick wall defense.

I wish they put sliders to adjust some of this cheese CPU uses. We only been asking for sliders since 2k12 in My Player mode.

it's the PG's job to get 5+ assist. I don't run around with the ball in my hand playing SF..i'm not Lebron James.

                  Fixed that for you.

Really bizarre that they haven't added that.

Or playcalling for off-ball star players.

I intentionally put 2k12 2k10 was actually my favorite My player mode. Cut, dry, no VC points earn each skill point the hard way. I think I played 3 full seasons until I had a dominating player. At that point I could score as much as I wanted and when I wanted. 2K11 got a little tougher but still skill points made a difference to player creation and you could exploit the advantages depending on your skill level. But, before 2k12 all the hard core SIM central player who don't play my player started crying with their "its to easy to score crap" so the whole system changed. This is where skill points started to make a difference less and less and where I for one stared asking for sliders.

2k14 is the icing on the cake for me as I have realized you can't have a full sim game and my player mode in one game without sliders. My player is not about running plays or distributing the ball to star players for use to score with. My player is about earning points to build your player and to make him the super start. Now weather that involves a big scorer or best defender the whole point is for your player to be the star of the team. Bottom line take away skill points advantage, add super computer defense for sim player to enjoy, and provide no sliders to adjust anything = END OF MY PLAYER

It's just odd that 2k focused so much on coming up with 99 signature skills and every way to make you buy VC points for my player but did absolutely nothing to tailor the game for a gamer who only plays this mode.

I loved 2k10's my player also. I loved the full training camp and the work up for the draft. I don't like this one game thing.

I'm personally loving My Career, even though I'm a PG and got drafted by the OKC Thunder, lol. The GM even told me during the interview process that they want me to be a starter, but not as a PG cause of Westbrook. He asked would I switch positions to SG and make somewhat of a big four, with Ibaka. I said yes without a doubt. So 6 games into the season we are 5-1, with the only loss against Minnesota (yes that Minnesota). I'm the sixth man and below are my per game avg.

13.2 ppg, 9 apg, 3 steals per game, and shooting around 40%. I still need to get better at shooting three's and turnovers. My coach is basically using me as a PG/SG hybrid, sharing minutes with Westbrook and Jeremy Lamb.
It doesn't matter if you tap out, pass out or simply cash out.

So yea. The "get team within 5" bug sucks sort of. Was cool getting a ton of minutes and able to prove myself, but my guy was DEAD tired most of the time.
Was having to call my own timeouts.
