Also I was shocked as hell when I saw the caps for players they are very realistic now and no attributes can be a 99.

Has anyone tried SG yet?
Last year Scoring SG couldn't get a 65 block rating, so I wasn't able to get Eraser signature. I really like blocking.
I think you had to be All-Around SG to get like a 70 cap on blocking.
Wondering if different at all.Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
I was going to run out and pick up my copy at midnight but I knew I would at until work and that just can't happen. *grin*
VERY excited to hear about blocks being improved. Not so much that people report the rebounds that magically go to the opponent. HOWEVER, hoping the new rebounding signature move will allow better control of the boards. Let me know if any of you use it and if you notice a difference. I was just tired of going 1.5 quarters without a rebound with a 7'2" center with 99 rebounding because the ball would 'magically' bounce away from me every single time. So what if I had 10 rbs by the half.
Ok, will stop complaining....just want to play! *checks he clock and sighs*Comment

Created a 7'1 Defensive center
Just played the showcase and got 9 blocks, 8 boards, and 8 points.
I'm sooo sooooo happy they finally reward us defensive players this year. Every weak layup that went up near me got swatted Mutombo style into the stands.
Oh and the new nicknames too, nice touch.I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
One thing I never heard anyone mention before...and it totally could just be me...is that not all players seem to be built the same. In this I mean I have started new players a million times in 2k13. I would do a 3pt specialist pg. he would shoot really good for obvious reasons. Time would pass and I would try again with the same build (same **** release, sig skills, etc). However, my guy would be noticeably NOT as good at shooting. It is like Clay Thompson. He is a 73 rating sg. He has a sig skill or two but nothing that screams "I will make every shot If I am open'. Yet...he is a god shooting. Why? There HAS TO BE something extra that the computer assigns to your guy beyond your own stats/sigs. The same for rebounding. I have had centers that were 99 in the important stats yet I barely average 11 yet a PF I did once got everything that touch the board....it was crazy. Think I averaged 22 boards in the first season on superstar. Look at Paul when he shoots that mid jumper. Against me he is death yet his stars and skills do not say 'unstoppable'. Hmmmmm, perhaps it is the hot spots you can set if you make a player for association ???? Well, it cools be but that does not explain the my player variation IMO.
There has to be some intangible/unknown rank or label the game puts on your guy beyond the 'rebounder' or '3pt specialist'Comment

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread
With the way the blocks and ball hoggin' by the guards in 2k13 it made playing with a PF or my fav position Center no fun. I started a MyCareer with a 7'1 230lb Center with low expectations. I came out of the rookie showcase amped to continue playing but then realized I had to go to work, lol.
The Showcase started with a screen showing your matchup as well as your 5 key stat categories that will help improve your draft stock. Each stat was weighted by a star from 5 down to 1 showing how much of a difference it will make.
The actual game started off slow.. where I only had 4pts and 2 rebounds in the first half going up against C Alex Len and on occasion PF Anthony Bennett. PG Trey Burke hogged the ball a lot and didn't bother even trying to find me on the roll after setting pick after pick. However, I did manage to get 2 blocks that definitely wouldn't have happened in 2k13. One emphatic block on a Alex Len 2 hand dunk attempt. The 2nd half I went on a tear.. I started hesitating a little longer off the picks and then rolling into more space and Burke started finding me much more often. I managed to get a A+ draft grade and finished with 17pts, 8rebs, 3blks, 1stl.
I ended up being interviewed first by the TWolves(9th pick), then the Pelicans(6th pick) and then the 76ers(11th pick). I turned down the TWolves and the Pelicans because I didn't want to compete with KLove and Pekovic, nor did I want to play behind the Brow in NO. When the 76ers came up I kind of scratched my head because of Noel and Hawes.
So it doesn't seem like the logic in drafting in MyCareer is all that great. In retrospect, I should've gave a good interview to the Pelicans so I could play in NO and have Davis move to his more natural position at the 4.
Even though there isn't really any big changes to the mode this year, there is definitely subtle changes to it that make for a much better experience when playing a bigman specifically the blocking system. I'll probably start MyCareer over and try to get drafted to a different team or maybe even get that #1 spot. Ideally, I'd like to play in Cleveland or Washington but if that doesn't work out I'll probably just ask for a trade to be the cornerstone to my hometown Bucks, or play for the Lakers or Celtics.Comment
