The downward spiral has begun .. now I see just how far down we go.

I'm not sure this trade was realistic from the Wolve's side of things. Pek is going to be an top 5 big man in the next couple of years. I don't think I'd have pulled the trigger on this myself.
Well.. it was a good move for the Nuggets nonetheless. Pek becomes good but I imagine the Wolves felt like Derrick Williams and Love were the combination they wanted to use for the future.

Gallanari gives them a REAL starting small forward who fits their overall game in terms of floor spacing for Rubio and Love to use the pick and roll.

Anyhoo, I just had my second 5x5 in my rookie season against the Nuggets

    42 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 steals, 5 blocks. Not bad.

I am top 10 in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks as well.

Top 5 in everything but assists. Leading league in blocks only. I thought I would have the scoring title averaging 30.8 ppg, but Durant is having an unreal season averaging 35 points.

9 more games to go before the playoffs, I'm stoked.

1: While at "home" go to the "view more" option for social media. In the upper left you will see your popularity, both with fans and your teammate chemistry.

You can also check your teammates out in the middle of the game for various things like: health, happiness, and whether they are on hot or cold streaks. You do this by going to the "box score" option and then you page through the stat pages.

2: It gets frustrating at times but it is better to let the ai score on your ai teammates than on your assignment. It hurts your teammate's performance more if you get burned for some reason. The better you play in the game, the better your teammates start playing as well.

3: Rebounding will go up and down. I try to get Splitter and Duncan involved in rebounding by sometimes boxing their assignment out - the danger in this is that if your guy misses the easy rebound then you are out of position for getting back.

The advantage is that if your big man does get a couple of rebounds this way, he will usually get on a streak and start doing well the rest of the game.

My Spurs live and die by defense. If we allow the other team to score over 100, we lose. We score about 96 a game. The hardest thing to learn about playing defense is that the best way to play D is to not press intense-d or to stand there with your hands up all the time.

Only contest the shot or press the intense D at pivotal moments - when your assignment starts a baseline break or starts the passing motion. Always start by shading your assignment away from the center though. Don't over do it though - he is going to be acting faster then you so you gotta anticipate where he wants to go or who he wants to get the ball to.

As far as Utah goes... Favors always seems to do o.k. and in this year's version the guy from Turkey ( I forget names without them in front of me) Kantor? he seems to be doing well. Look for possible bigs that can complement those two.

People I'd consider asking my GM to trade for if I were on Utah:

      • Greg Monroe
      • Andre Drummond
      • Thomas Roberts
      • Meyers from Portland
      • Viliniwhater in Toronto
      • Omar Asik
      • The guy on the Magic - his ovr is low but he outperforms in every game I've been against him so far.

In general, you will have a harder time getting people than others because the ai will look to match ovr with the trades.

The guys that write posts in this thread know a lot and they are all give good advise. So don't hesitate to ask things. We all learn new things about this mode every day.

Just remember that we all get frustrated at times.
dude!!! thanks so much for answering the questions!!! that's awesome and thanks yeah at 2-11 it is kind of a bummer when the horn sounds, but its on the the next game - i'll try and take a look at all those things in about 10 minutes i did however notice the team chemistry thing..i think im in the 70's or 68 somewhere around there its pretty high - thanks for that tip - i wish i would have written down who i asked for in a trade, but i sure made a point not to ask for anyone i couldn't get like Hibbert and people like that - i tried to keep it realistic - I'm still learning my roster but the guy from turkey is probably still developing LOL - Favors is out 2 months with an ankle sprain LOL we getting there hahahaha - again thanks for all your help - after finally purchasing 2k14 i wonder why i haven't purchased a basketball game before its pretty cool!

Dude just finished the game vs dallas in dallas 109-101 W - thanks for your tips..i got Kantor involved early and often and it seemed as the rest of the team had the hot hand as well and Heyward was finally aggressive and i laid back dishing the ball until the team needed me it was a great flow to the game!!! again thanks alot! we got a whole 3 wins, but by far this was the best feeling

Is there anyway to check your my player tendencies? I asked a similar question to this one earlier but didn't get a response.

I would like to know this as well. You could in 2k13 but I don't see a way to check them this year...

Re: NBA 2K14 Official MyCAREER Thread

            My career; PG (6'3 205 all-around) about half way through first season (19.8ppg, 7.6apg, 2.4rpg). I have a few questions and can use some pointers please;

Just started playing 2k again, been about 4-5 years since I bought one. I played on the default settings/difficulty while I was a bench player but when I was made a starter I upped it to all-star. Now I'm finding defense is very difficult, I'm getting burned on almost every play. For whatever reason my team starts me at the SF position and it seems like the players I defend are much bigger and shiftier (I'm only 78ovr) than I am. Any advice?

Also when it comes to signature skills, would you recommend spending VC on them early or keep building up your stats.

I play on Hall of Fame, but I've been playing 2k since Sega Dreamcast. All I can tell you about defense is practice. Try and keep your man in front of you, anticipate his next move, the more you play the better you'll get at it.
Regarding your team putting you at sf, it has to do with your team needs, whoever has your starting pg position is probably a higher rating than you, but you've been playing well so you've earned the starting lineup roll, once you pass his rating you should probably be the starting pg.
VC is hard to get, so I used mine wisely, I filled up the skills that I use more during game time that makes me score and dominate on d therefore giving more vc at the end of the game, especially during 2xmulti VC games. Once I decided to get a signature skill I saved up VC until I had enough for the best signature tier. As a PG I have dimer, pickpocket, pick and roll, posterize, and I alternate between lockdown defender and lebron coast to coast depending on the team Im playing. I also have catch and shoot, corner specialist, dead eye, and the ally one, but I rarely use those.
Hope this helps... This is just my opinion.

I think you may be looking for this section:

                Player/Player Upgragdes/Attributes.

Then the tendencies listed are Offense/Defense/Psychical/Mental - and they all have some different skill sets within them to upgrade via vc.

hope this is what you're looking for.

Thanks, but that's not what I was talking about. I'm referring to your myplayers tendencies like when in the paint he will either layup or dunk depending on the tendency.

was that a screen from 14 or 13?

I looked and i cannot find that in 14 - unless i'm looking in the wrong place - but on the edit player screen there isn't a tendencies tab this year - only attributes from what i see. Maybe someone else "may" know where that screen is your looking for i'll keep looking to see if i find it. if so i'll let you know

There is one thing that keeps getting on my nerves; every time I gain the lead in FTs made KD goes out and has a game of anywhere between 16 and 27 FTs made. There was a stretch, where he and I were tied at 245, where the Thunder had one game in 4 days and I had 3; in those 3 games combined I made 27 FTs and he made 16 in his game, after my last game we had a day off and KD had a game and in that game he made 18. We just played the Thunder and against us he only had 2 and I had 7, but so far he still has a 2 FT lead on me, that I can be sure will extend to about 10 if I tie or take the lead in FTs my next game.

                            Any suggests.....

Haven't tired the training boosts yet hopping for answer here before spending the vc.

                            Thanks

So can anyone tell me why the controls are so bad in 2k14? I'm power forward, and while my team has the ball I am trying to get to the other side of the court. Well, unless i have the turbo button held, I start looking behind me for the ball and I'm skipping backwards very slowly. Even if the point guard is already past me. Also I never get the ball and the game seems to be over emphasizing my movements to where it is kind of hard to get my guy to stop. Any help??
