The gameplay DOES feel smooth tho, it's the best word to describe it. Everything just feels right.

I have seen a few tipped boards, but that happens in every game so it's not fake.

If you aren't running plays, then of course you're gonna see tipped passes and steals, but I've been playing with plays on and I haven't seen that many steals unless I tried to get too fancy and sneak a pass in the paint.

Blocks HAVE been in previous games, but those were mostly animations, this year you can see your guy actually track the ball in the air and really go for it.

You can actually see who the good on-ball defenders are too, because you can really play good d and even if you get beat you have a couple guys that can block/alter shots.

Even if you're not playing with plays on the spacing is still pretty good, and you can especially see it when you call an iso.

I'm not one to hype up games but this from a pure-gameplay standpoint is the best ball ever. Presentation/graphics/gamemods, I can nitpick and say what can be improved but it's just current-gen and for what they did the game feels new, and worth a purchase.
Word, i've been playing 2k since it was on dreamcast with allen iverson on the cover, back when freethrow shooting was crazy hard lol. And i've noticed some flaws that they don't touch in recent years.

Yeah the tipped boards thing just annoys me because it's random(it used to be you could control when you want to tip or grab a rebound) and players will do it when they could of easily just grabbed the ball

Not true, just because you don't run plays doesn't mean the computer(or anyone for that matter) should be psychic and deflect passes with the back of their hand without even seeing them. Hmm, so then it's pretty similar to last year in passing?

Interesting, how do you mean? Are you sure it's not just a more fluid block animation? I know in 2k12 they had live ball physics blocking or whatever and it resulted in shots getting blocked with elbows and weird body parts. Still happens some in 2k13 on certain blocks. So are the blocks more controllable then? Like you feel like you can block shots you should be able to? In 2k13 and 12, players sometimes felt like they lacked explosiveness on jumping for blocks(i would hit the block button with dwight howard and sometimes he would either jump 2 seconds after i hit it, or do some weird slow jump animation where he doesn't go for the ball). If the players really track the ball like you say it would be nice, in previous 2ks it's like they have no hand eye coordination.

Good to hear. Hope the difference between good defenders and average ones is really noticeable.

Nice, the spacing has been awful for years.

The only time I've seen tipped boards so far is when someone's out of position and they shouldn't actually be able to grab it, which is nice.
I won't lie though, ever since 2K11 I've been pretty bad at grabbing boards but my first blacktop game I played I grabbed 16 so I think it's at least a little better lol

Like I said tho, I run plays so for the most part when I turn the ball over it's mostly my fault. But the steals off my bad passes have seemed legit.

They revamped the whole blocking system tho, their hand actually tracks the ball. When you jump you reach for the ball in the air, not just thru the air with your hand up and you swing at nothing.
If it's one thing I'm good at, it's getting blocks, and my first my career game I got 9 with my center. If the cpu makes mistakes and you're there for the block, you WILL block them.
I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

For gameplay alone Id say it is a must buy. Im thinking your like me if I remember correctly and your big on Association like I am, and Im not sure yet if the same glitches are there from last year yet. Like if you download a roster or caps and it messes up team records. I decided if it does that this year them I will just add my own CAPs in rather than downloading a roster or CAPS, cause if I remember correctly doing that didnt glitch the team records, and names of a few players, it was only if you got it from 2kshare. If I am wrong please correct me on that as I dont want to create my own players only to have it glitch my Association. I have never made my own before cause I am horrible with faces, but I might have to this year cause I cant play if the records arent right or names are wrong. I also hate playing if the roster is missing players too.
The gameplay with a few slider tweaks is the best its ever been in a basketball game. With adjusted shot tendencies I am seeing perfect PIP and teams are driving and kicking out to a shooter like they should, as well as bigs posting up. Still you will get that occasional AI holding the ball and then jacking up a 35ft shot at the buzzer, buts its better than it has been with the flow of the offense with slider tweaks.

For my part when i watch the trailer and i see that note are just 9,3/10 while you give me more classic team better details for classic team, allthe classic team improved, not too much old classic team, only team beteween 1990 and 2001, and the note could be 9,9/10 and you want i buy the game?

Lol you are joking with me?? Oh yes tell me the truth you are make me a nice joke?

For next gen you can make a copy of the text above this one. It is the same answer. Good graphism don't give me a correct classic mode.

For the people saying "wait for next gen", you do know theres such things as selling your ps3/xbox copy, you will easily get 45-50 bucks for it in a month. Also it seems retailers will have ps3 to ps4 / 360 to one trade in offers where you can get the next gen version for $10. I know Amazon and Gamestop are doing that.

Yep. I think probably th epeople saying this is just trying to dis the current gen game is all, cause with the deals out there your not going to be out much money if you buy now only to get a PS4 or xb1 when they come out. All in all this is the best gameplay a basketball game has ever had.
I can almost bet when the next gen comes out after the new wears off there will be all kinds of complaints and people will be underwhelmed expecting more cause its a new console. My guess is other than graphics next gen NBA2k14 wont be much better gameplay wise, JMO. I think it will take a couple years before we see them truely renovating the game as a whole with the next gen.

you say about adjusting tendancies to get perfect PIP....what did you do ??? this was my biggest gripe about last year...the AI drive the paint all the time and PIP would be 50 plus every game. Still waiting on my copy here in the UK !!

I sorta wish I would have held out for the next gen version...IMO this game is not very different from 2K13...better collisions and improved control with the sticks but overall there are minimal differences from 2k13

IMO (so far anyway... not very far in the game) it isn't really worth the money on PC. I'm undecided on buying a next gen console, so I got 2k14 for PC (which is my main platform when gaming). I have a PS3 which is usually in a box (or with a friend) but much prefer PC gaming (also because I have a nice rig).

i voted yes because it is a ridiculous amount better than 2k13. idk about you but i couldn't play 2k13 anymore. all the broken plays, all the quicksand, all the broken stuff just made it not enjoyable. you weren't playing basketball in 2k13, you were playing the game against itself within its own boundaries.

if they sold this game for $30 (lol pc price) then it'd be 100% worth it. it's just not worth $60. the question is "is it a must buy". if you love basketball and want to play the best basketball game there is, then yes.

Not worth the buy on PC ? It's like 30 bucks with modded rosters and better gameplay than last year . If 2/3 of that was on current gen systems 2k would have broke some sort of selling record .

Definitely worth a buy. This is the most 'fresh'-feeling 2K since 2K11. Really good gameplay improvements across the board.

Most of y'all just log in to complain about not buying the game every day , that's cool wait for it next month but don't take the joy from those who brought the game and love it . $30 or $60 2k14 is better than 2k13 by a landslide .

Really? PC version is $22 with some of the deals out there. That's not a big investment for a new game.

I play mostly My Career and Association. Association hasn't seen many changes that I have seen, but the game just plays so much better. It makes it more worthwhile to pick up rim protectors and strong defensive players instead of just three point shooters. My teams look more like a team should with a balance between stars and roleplayers.

My Career is finally playing like it should have for years. Missing your pick doesn't break the play anymore. Your teammates are better at finding you for open shots. Playing as a big man finally feels right, but so does playing as a wing since a teammate point guard who shoots well from the outside will finally take those open jumpers you get him.

That $22 will hold me over until next gen just fine.
