    ROTFLMAO

Guys like I said before, Videogame basketball, is just not that good. This why the $20.00 price tag, made this a purchase by default. I bet he is right about all his critiques, simply because basketball is hard too replicate, unlike football baseball and hockey.

Its really sad how one person opinions could have an affect on your decision when you don't even know the guy personally. Just wait until the game comes out and judge for yourself, and if you don't like it go and exchange it.

As far as that guy review, I will take them in consideration but in no way shape or form have a final say in my decision making until I finally have the game in my own hands. Please, don't force yourself to like or dislike a certain things just b/c others do. That is self disrespecting and absurd.

First let me stop :y4: @ the Shaq clip.

The review may be a bit suspect, but one person will not change my opinion. I stopped letting magazine reviews determine what I spend my money on. Only my view counts in the end anyway.

That ign review is bogus. I have never seen a review so one sided to the negative side. It sounds like an ea sports person wrote the material.

Im getting a headache reading some of these posts. You would think somebody raped your mothers the way some of you are reacting. This is insane.

My take on this is that Sega put out aq piece of sh** last year with 2k4 so it's not too far fetched for me to believe this game also sucks. But I will see for myself before I make my final decision.

                      what i don't get

1.if u loved NBA LIVE lsat year..why shouldn't you love it this year..!! & why did it get a low score..

2.if 2k4 was crapp last year why'd it get a high score?--if 2k5 is supposed to even out 2k4 & make it more realistic whiles adding better graphics and camera..why such a drastic dropp in score from the reviewer?

my thing is--this GUY---loves nba streets..he said live is what's to come in STREETS VOL 3--we all love streets but when looking for a realistic nba game it's not IT....if 2k5 improves upon 2k4--by a good bit why is it hated?

IT'S TO BE expected...i sense reviewers are letting love for a franchise or company stamp..take their proffesionalism away from them........it's good to have the same guy do both reviews........but he's supposed to compare both games to each other and their closeness to reality...being that enjoyability could be a big factor..he's supposed to compare the same things each game has to it's real life counter part...THEN LIST the problems and issues...

not all this joking around, name calling, dissing another product,or company or coming into the review already knowing which one he likes..or which one he liked best last year!

Al I care about for ME is MY review when I get the game home and Op Sports review.

....and for the masses, Gamespot's review will be interesting to see as well. If they think it's a 9. whatever then it will balance out Hilary's crapola review so a lot of unsuspecting gamers don't miss out on a $20 game. (if it is good).

                              Re: Ign Review

I think the critical analysis Hilary Goldstein did of ESPN in his review was really good. I just wish he would subject Live and every sports game he reviews to the same level of analysis, so we can make some sort of objective inferences from his scores.

As was pointed out, I don't care what scores they give games, but I must admit I was taken aback by the totally different tones between the Live and ESPN reviews - they were 100% different. The level of critical analysis of nuances in gameplay and minute dissection of the ESPN game review were totally different than the Live review (where they were non-existant). I don't doubt his shot% numbers or analysis, but where was the similar analysis of Live? If Shaq plays like Shaq and the 3-point vs. paint shot numbers were spot-on in Live, and if the star players play like their unique real-life counterparts, why didn't he mention that in his review of Live? We are left to assume he did not subject Live to any of the tests/analysis that he subjected ESPN to, which means the games were reviewed totally differently.

I have found in the past that ign's sports reviews are exceptionally poor, which is what led me to find this website in the first place. They don't know anything about sports, which is kind of essential if you're going to review video representations of sports. Besides, isn't Hilary Goldstein a british guy? Because his knowledge of basketball and other American sports leads me to believe that he isn't from around here (and I think he mentioned it before in an equally poor soccer game review).
