Somewhat. The code is different but it appears to be the same layout. Here the roster file that came in my game.

MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

Then u have 2 possible solutions:

          1. The guy has a tool to decompress the file we don't have

          2. He's like Neo and can see things where we just see numbers

Yes, according to vlad. But it will not be ease for somethings like yr past. Arena names, unis and logos. No more easy text edits. Will be more like madden this yr.

I'm sure, i have several real ROS files from the 360 version of the game (not chrome's file, but they are similar) and let it be the second option. 3 years of work with 2K Sports files gave a decent Neo-style skill to see heights, weights, names, colors, etc. in where most people see just raw numbers.
And yes, no any 3rd party program to "decompress" or anything.

As i said, i haven't dug any deep yet, but at least i got the general ideas. Have spotted height, weight, TeamID of players, names... It may be not so obvious now, but took me about an hour to find the clue. Though, i haven't tried to edit anything yet, as there is a checksum, like stated by chrome. So, i'm waiting for the PC version first, as it is easier to decode (on several reasons).

Sharing some secrets. Bank Of Names may be divided into parts this time (again, haven't checked it yet, so just a supposition), but it's still easy to edit... they just switched to another UTF encoding of characters.

As for REDitor. I'm determined to make it this year as well. But, still being on my senior year at college, i can't set any exact release dates, as it all depends on the amount of tasks from my profs throughout the semester.
I'll make a development blog later in October, so you'll be able to follow the development process.

Enjoy the original game, guys! I'm about to finish with MLB Tables for REDitor, so not having much time for posting on forums, was just eager to check ROS files from the latest game.

wow Vlad you are the man!

I've been taking a look today at the file again and I think I found a string similar to last years where we could edit player shoe colors and brands, but nothing more.

Please, if you find the string (or where they are now) where uniforms, sock color, shoe color and team colors could be changed, please, let us know for my own calm.... I searched for this looking for the hex colors 2K usually used for some teams, but I hadn't any luck...

btw, good luck with ur studies!

i will be back home from my trip in the next 2 hours . I plan on doing some basic testing i was able to find team ids ,player codes and some hex colors. only spent like 20 mins with it. To find uni ids the best thing to do is export teams and read the CAT/ Export file. Maybe3 bulls teams 86 98 and current that i found most break down last yr. I think the game is already waiting for me at home.

But most of you know that the days of easy text edit are long gone. As i stated i few months back. I feel bad for the folks that dont buy reditor this time around . Things threw hex will be very limited but still can be done, but not as easy as before or fast.

Talked with vlad in detail , things will be handled as always regarding REDitor development. Pc 1st and then the 360. There is not ETA which vlad has stated. For know we both will enjoy the game for the next few weeks and tinker here and there.

As always i will share all findings that work. Also will be playing around with the DLC folder.
I will also look at editing the setting file to unlock everything as i did last yr.

                                HAPPY NBA 2k EVE !!!!!
