i dont know what colors the reditor will have available, maybe just the ones 2k already has for the teams so if you want other custom shades then you may need to hex edit anyway. -

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
ok i have gone threw the 1st 1076 lines of player code... And i got some good news and some bad news. The good news i have found all the players based off the list of players off pc list. The bad news i have only found to players that were not on the list, and i cant even tell who they are.

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
Good find!
I didn't think you'd have any luck finding Barkley or Miller, but no Kevin Johnson or Dan Majerle? Bummer.
Even without Barkley, I could still make a late 80s/very early 90s Suns if KJ and Majerle were there."I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying."

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
i also think know that there is 0 chance of finding Barkley or Miller, but Kevin Johnson or Dan Majerle still a very good chance to find them = i only went threw 1076 lines of code out of 9,999 possible lines code. I am sure i find more great retro players lets hope that dont have blk arms."Never say never, because limits are like fears and they are often just an illusion."-M.J.Comment

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
Unfortunately, black arms can't be cured
PC folks normalized them via editing textures in IFF-files.
That skin-tone inside the roster only controls legs color for players with non-generic faces.Comment

you can use the picture on post 284 as a template for finding most of the colors you will need. you can go here to double check colors or to create your own custom color.
so using the heat as an example since thats what is highlighted in the picture, 0A is their team code, the first instance of this will be the home uni, then away, then secondary, on down the line through retros and other unis in the same order they are selectable on the quick game screen. so there is a primary, secondary and headband color for each uniform. so in the pic it shows 98012e as the heats home primary color which is red, if you want to change that to a custom color go to that site and select any color you want and change 98012e in hex to the new value. if you want a color from another team it shouldnt be that hard to find in hex by scrolling through the teams and copying and pasting the value.
this should be pretty simple and there is really no need for a video. if you still cant figure it out after this pm me or chat me cause we dont need to clog up this (already enormous) thread with things that we have been over many times already.Comment

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
When i was decoding, i just noticed, there are 60 slots, shared between teams, there. So, i called it Draft Projection. So, it consists of 60 positions, occupied by NBA teams.
Draftees Teams are those teams, you play against, when you just start MyPlayer mode. Each one has a roster of 5 players.Comment

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
I just have a quick question about the editor/hex editing in general for anyone who can answer, is it possible to change the trade value of a player after editing them? A lot of the newer roster's have player's rated much lower than 2k defaults (which I agree with) but the only real drawback in that is how low everyone's trade value is, so is there a way to edit this?Red Sox, Giants, Knicks, Liverpool FC, Bruins, UConnComment

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
Is this in Franchise Mode or at the game's start up? And are some teams listed more than 2 times?Comment

Re: editing roster w/ hex editor?
an easy way would be to use the search feature in the hex program youre using and look at the picture on post 284 and search for a string of numbers...here just copy and paste this 50800000000000000000000A000004. this should bring you to the exact point where the picture shows. now just scroll down through the heat and hornets (000B) and next will be the jazz (000C)Comment
